This is a wonderful hotel - walking distance to most tourist sites and the beautiful churches that Vilnius is known for! The staff are helpful and friendly, breakfast buffet was great. I give the hotel 4+ stars, and would definitely stay there again, but my room on third floor was not the best. The pitched roof took half of the room and the windows faced the sky - so one couldn't really look out and i felt a bit claustrophobic. If you stay at the hotel, and I do recommend it, make sure you get a regular room.
It is a great hotel located on Vilnius old town, with good accommodations in the old style, of course. Lots of celebrities have stayed there. From the hotel we could walk everywhere. Breakfast was very good but for me, the greatest thing of all was the staff of the reception. The ladies were amazing. Really doing everything to help and besides, always with a beautiful smile in their faces!!
This is a luxury hotel from a bygone era. Pictures of visiting dignitaries who stayed there greet you as you enter. The building is full of beautiful art, furniture, a lovely winter garden and small bar. Our room was spacious and quiet but the bath only had one sink. We found the two best features were the breakfast and the pool/sauna. The buffet was over the top and a menu to order eggs and other hot dishes to order. The staff were very pleasant. The pool and sauna were wonderful. Build time into your stay to enjoy them. You can walk to all sights easily. A lovely experience.
During our 10-day trip, we had the privilege of staying in four 5-star hotels in Helsinki, Tallinn, Riga and Vilnius. This was our favorite. Everyone was friendly and hospital. Their breakfast is awesome. Our room was large and comfortable. There is no better location in Vilnius. Highly recommend.
If you are used to live in five star hotel definitely don't come to this hotel! Yes, this hotel have a history, but the rooms are the same old. If you come to Vilnius better live in Kempinski. In this hotel even service is disaster. I was waiting the tooth brush and toothpaste for 30 minutes. In my opinion it is a shame for the chateau hotel group
Comfortable room, easy internet, very nice people, usual screwy shower screen that funnels water directly to the bathroom floor. Outstanding breakfast buffet. Slightly confusing in-room safe, so read the instructions before you start pushing buttons. Great ceramics on display in the hallways, but a fair number of stairs between the desk and the elevator, so accessibility challenged. Terrific location for walking to restaurants and other attractions.
We ate in there "tavern" restaurant, our group of 11. This is misnamed as it is very high quality. It is not a pub. We had a single table which was ideal. We ate traditional Lithuanian food from their menu. I had the herring to start followed by the pike. We all had dessert and the apple pie was great. We had good wine reasonably priced. The service was excellent and the team spoke good English. Overall very good.
We enjoyed our stay. The reception area is very attractive, our room was large and well furnished, the breakfast buffet was varied and of high quality, and the hotel staff was polite and helpful. There were a few issues that persuaded me to deduct a point, as the hotel did not quite meet my high expectations. 1) We were given the wifi code at check-in, and tried it repeatedly without success. When we pointed this out, the front desk informed us that the wifi was being repaired. Couldn't they have told us at check-in? 2) Our room key card didn't work. We took it down to reception, they reprogrammed it, and we returned to our room to try again. Still nothing, so back to reception.... Finally they sent someone to solve the problem. Couldn't this have been done from the start? 3) The air conditioning didn't work. I like my bedroom cold, and set it for 16 Celsius. Several hours later, at 3 a.m., I got up to open the window as the room was still too hot.
Great location that was walking distance to the sites we wanted to visit. The breakfast selection was fantastic, rooms were clean, and reception was helpful in answering questions and booking dinner reservations. We would stay here again!
I enjoyed this hotel, it is very quaint and pleasant but I wouldn't quite rate it as 5 star hotel, only a 4 star. The beds were very comfy and the rooms a good size but the pillows in the rooms were very soft (too soft) and it was so hot at night I had to open the windows despite it being 0 degrees outside. The spa and pool downstairs were only opened on request, which I thought strange and the sauna was cold when I used it. The pool is small but adequate if there is only 1 person using it. Also beware, the buffet breakfast is 26 euros a head, I can get the same in a local cafe for 3 to 4 euros. It is too expensive for what is essentially some cakes, cereal and cheeses. All in all, not a bad stay but some areas could do with improvement. 3 out of 5.
