Definitely not recommend to stay in the "new section" under renovation. The way to the room was confusing especially the stairs were under repair and blocked. There was no good way to get to the 2 nd floor to cross over to the "new" side. It would be a problem if you have check in luggage and carry to the room on your own. Our room was small. The bathroom and the dresser door in the room blocked the passage way when either one was opened. The furniture showed wear and tear. Our room faced the street towards the church. We could hear traffic and pedestrians noises late into the night, poor sound insulation. The good was the location to the Main Street in old town. Overall it is a OK hotel with our experience.
Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Hotel is in a great location. Room was extremely large (especially for Europe). Very nice study area with computer access. Overall, probably the best hotel I have ever stayed at in Europe.
We spent three nights in a double in the "new" section. Big mistake! The new section was VERY remote from the front desk, restaurant, etc. You had to take two elevators or locate two different flights of stairs in what was a maze of halways and levels. Our room was very small. We did see another couple's room in the old section which not only was closer to everything it was larger and more nicely furnished. The hotel fronts on a square where they party all night and was noisy. But the location is very convenient for sightseeing and restaurants. The breakfast was good and we enjoyed the bar with tables fronting the square. If I were returning I would try another hotel.
Right on Town Hall Square and within easy walking distance of the Old Town. The hotel has been tastefully updated and extended with capacity more than double courtesy of a major extension. Founded in 1901 as the Astorija Hotel. Would suggest you try for a room in the new part. Health and safety may not have reached Lithuania yet, but how refreshing to find windows which open as wide as you want them and enable you to take photographs of the world passing below your window. Good to have a room at the front, but local revellers / late night drinkers disturbed us until 3.00am. Other negatives. A breakfast buffet (@ e19) which managed to run out of English Breakfast Tea ! I'm not a tea drinker, but I understand that it is a vital feature of the breakfast routine for many. Friendly, helpful, staff. Hayling Seagoon
stayed here with my family for the weekend as its central and had a pool for the kids to unwind in. we loved it staff very friendly, pool area small but adequate for wee kids and the breakfast was very nice. our little still wants to go back
This was easily the best of the three hotels on our Titan Travel Baltic Gems tour. If you're in the annex you have to go up one floor in a lift then walk across to the new building (route sign-posted with arrows) and up another lift. This does mean that it takes a little longer to deliver the suitcases than usual. However when you get there the bedrooms and bathrooms are really spacious and our room looked out onto the town square. Food, especially breakfast, and bar facilities were good. Wi-fi was free and available throughout the hotel and there was a small but well-appointed residents lounge. Above all the staff on reception and in the restaurant and bar were all friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay.
Almost the best location in Vilnius. In the centre of the old town. Expensive for the size of the room, but the room was comfortable and as we were in the old part of the building we had opening windows so didn't have to rely on air con.Lots of cafes and restaurants nearby, and we didn't find one that was less than good and all were good value. Hotel has good professional service as you would expect from this chain. There is a pleasant bar at the front of the hotel overlooking the square. Didn't use the restaurant.
Great hotel and staff, fantastic breakfast. Nice location. If you are going to visit vilnius this I the place to stay, I have visit this hotel more than 100 times the last 19 years and i will for sure be back.
We were upgraded to a business class room which was very large and comfortable. All the staff were efficient and pleasant. There was a good range on the breakfast buffet including real ham and cheese, not just the normal tasteless stuff. The only issue with breakfast was the coffee was stewed.
This hotel could be perfect. Beautifully restored in a prime location with excellent service and breakfast buffet. One big problem: the air conditioner doesn't work. Our first room had NO cool air, and it was unbearable (outside temp 25 degrees Celsius, and it was hotter inside). The front desk said: "Open your window" and sent up a small fan. The second day, we finally got a different room. While it was better, we had to resort to opening the window again until a maintenance man showed up and said it would be fine soon because he fixed it downstairs to blow cold air. And it was fixed! So, a relatively easy solution to a frustrating problem. Otherwise, all good!
