There is no air conditioning in this hotel. My room was sweltering hot. I was on the fifth floor. The window in my room had a lock in the bottom right corner. It would only slightly tip open at the top. There was no fan provided. So this was one of the hottest hotel rooms I've ever had in my entire life. Right now as I'm writing this review I am just dripping sweat sitting here on the edge of the bed. There is only three tiny elevators for an enormous size hotel. There are long waits to get the elevators when people are trying to leave with their luggage. The stairway has a dark section that felt dangerous. The breakfast room is small and cramped for the number of people in the hotel. It is also the least amount of breakfast offerings and any hotel on my two week trip to the Baltics. A long line for the orange flavored water as well as coffee from only one container. There are no English channels on the small television. The mattress was extra firm. There is no kettle in the room. When I took a shower the drain was plugged. The water took a while to go down. There was a sign in the bathroom "Hot water is cleansed please do not drink" My room did have a nice view. Never book this hotel in the summer. August was terribly hot.
Honest hotel in the way that you get what you pay for. And you don't pay much. Over performing on cleaning (stayed in two rooms, both super clean, good job staff :-)), friendly staff, view to the city and to some extent location just opposite the rail station and on the brink of the old town. Under performing on breakfast (no toaster, no eggs) and on noise if you sleep with your window open, no ac
Hotel Panorama was new in the program of our trip, but it was excellent for visiting Vilnius. Centrally located between old city centre and the railway station. Our room on the 3th floor - at the back - had a panoramic view over the old city. Bed, shower, breakfast and diner: tiptop! We had a perfect stay here.
Staff very warm and welcoming like their fellow countrymen. Hotel very clean and excellent value for the money. Breakfast could have been more inventive but dinner was of a much higher standard - good little cafés across the road in either the train station entrance or the bus station surrounded by little cafés. Staff spoke good English and the barman is charming. Good area for us smokers outside
My room was clean and functional. The hotel is good for tour groups as it can accommodate large groups and enable coaches to park in front/at the back. Not in the nicest part of town. Out of town near the old red light district and railway station but the old town is only a short walk away. Beware the very uneven pavements though. If you can try and book a room at the back of the hotel overlooking the old town. Breakfast was mayhem. Doors aren't opened until 8am and our Explore party were in a scrum with 100s of other tour parties all leaving at the same time. The bar closes on the dot of 10.30pm. But for a good value option this hotel served its purpose.
Views, travel connections, kind staff who packed us a take-away breakfast for the departure day and cleanliness are where this hotel wins. The standard double room was tiny - one of us had to stay on the bed whilst the other one moved around the room. Breakfast wasn't an issue as no groups were staying when we were. The items were tasty. I most likely won't be back in Vilnius but if I were to return, I would choose somewhere within the old town itself as the 15 minute walk is pretty annoying in the rain and chavs like the nasty homeless old woman who yelled "two black' people at us don't have discount supermarkets to hang around there.
Rooms Ok. Food is just edable service is horroble. Full of asian tour groups! Inpossible to get to breakfast buffe from tour groups! Car park unsafe my car got damaged as some one tried to break into it. Opposit hotel a dirty park. Location good, some room has old city view from 3 floors up.
When I am visiting European cities, I always have the habit of living around train stations for convenience. And that's why I picked Hotel Panorama. First of all, the room is really small. The walls are quite thin although during my three nights there I was lucky enough to have between no neighbor and quiet ones. Breakfast offerings are decent but tend to be mobbed by tour groups if you do breakfast at 8 something. I mean it can get really really crowded. To go late if possible can avoid the crowd (after tour buses depart). It is right across from the train + bus station. It is reasonable walk to old town. The price is good but there is nothing that can stand it out. Again very average hotel.
Whilst visiting the beautiful city of Vilnius for a football match with friends we stayed at the Panorama The hotel is clean and comfortable with reception staff very friendly. The views are great and the location close to the bus station ideal Breakfast was very nice and I enjoyed trying the local fare although they did pack away a little early the first morning We were surprised the bar closed so early and that there was no tea or coffee facilities in the room These minor issues did not detract from our visit and I would love to go back
The hotel is quite central, located right next to the train station and old town. The view from floors 3 and up is pretty amazing, if you're lucky and get a room on the old-town side of the building. The location and view though is about all that the hotel has going for it. The standard/double rooms are claustrophobicaly tiny, enough for one person, but two people with hand-luggage were a very tight fit. No AC in the rooms, but the windows are fully openable. There is a towel drying rack in the bathroom, which is basically just the hot water pipe running outside the wall, so it obviously can't be "turned off". In addition, the ventilation fan in our bathroom had broken down so it was hellishly hot in the bathroom, and combined with the relatively high (+20-ish) outside temperatures, the same in the rest of the room itself. The mattresses were crap, I could feel the strings poking me in my back. The toilet paper was half a ply (seriously, bring your own) and the TV is small and has like 7 channels. The breakfast had a decent amount of choice - cold cuts, omelette, cereals and yogurt, etc. but the products themselves seemed quite low quality.
