This is a very good hotel in the new part of Vilnius about 25 minute walk from the old town. Vilnius is developing rapidly and especially this part of town. This is a large hotel with a modern feel but it is actually a renovated old hotel from a previous era. My room was good size, ultra clean and everything worked perfectly. There was a safe, ironing board, kettle and minibar fridge in the room. Breakfast was good with plenty of variety. I have only three negative comments: a) The card system to get into the room. I had to go to reception 3 times to change the card and I noticed this was a common occurrence with other guests as well. When I first checked in I was given a room number and card but when I went to the room, amazingly there was another guest in the room - I do not know who was more shocked the other guest or me. Despite all my travelling experience this was the first time this has happened to me. b) Unwanted telephone calls. Twice whilst asleep I had telephone calls and when I answered they put the phone down (presumably because they dialed the wrong number. Probably not the hotel's fault but odd than it happened twice (on different days). c) The elevators. These can be very slow. Fortunately my room was on the fifth floor so I could use the stairs when I got fed up with waiting.
Our room was nice but very small as was the bathroom. We had to open our suitcases, take out what we needed, and then close them to have sufficient space to move about the room. We were on a bus tour so perhaps they gave us the smallest rooms in the hotel (I cannot imagine any smaller rooms). The hotel is modern and well maintained. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The breakfast buffet had a nice selection of food from which to choose.
The rooms were rather small with no room to keep your suitcase opened. The staff, however, were most obliging. I had a bad cold, and asked them to check the heat in my room. They brought up a portable heater which was perfect.
We stayed 1 night in a Business Class room on 16th floor. Very spacious with a separate lounge area with sofa, chairs and desk and nice modern decor. beautiful city views from up there. Breakfast is busy but not overwhelmingly so and has a great range of options to suit everyone including a local pastries section. We really enjoyed our stay here and liked how easy and close it was to get to the Old Town from there.
Fairly modern and large hotel. Great views of the city especially from the sky bar. Decent food. Not enough elevators for the size of the property. Staff are attentive. The prices in the lobby bar were rather high. They reluctantly accept American Express (which isn't unusual for Europe). Great location next to a shopping mall.
I am soon travelling to Vilnius again and am happy to be staying at the Radisson Blu there again. Excellent customer service form the front desk, clean and comfortable rooms and bed. Didn't get a 5* because not super central and breakfast could be a lot better.
Room was excellent - clean and with a fantastic view. Interior is modern. Location of the hotel is also very good, close to city centre. But despite that there was no noise from main street coming to the room. Parking available near the hotel.
I have stayed at this hotel a number of times when working in Vilnius. It is an ideal base - the business facilities are good, the WiFi is ok and the rooms are modern and comfortable. It is a 20 minute walk from the old town and castle etc (see photos) which is fine as you can walk next to the river. The gym is small but has free weights, weights machines and cardio equipment - everything you need really. There are a couple of shopping centres very close to the hotel, they both have a number of restaurants which are good and pretty cheap. I have no hesitation recommending this hotel.
Nothing wrong with this hotel except for an outdated ambiance. The place could use a fix up and be modernized to current Radisson standards. Room was clean and tidy and everything worked as expected. It was even spacious and afterwards was glad not having upgraded to business as there was plenty of room.
We were offered an upgrade to a "Business Class" room for a reasonable price. I'm glad we took the upgrade. The business class room had a fantastic view of the city. The room itself was large, very comfortable and located near the top floor. The bathroom, while big enough, was strangely small for the size of the room. I'm not complaining, just wondering what the designers were thinking. I didn't like the deep bathtub at all as I found it difficult to get in and out of to take a shower. But, the shortcomings in the bathroom did not compromise the overall feeling of being in a special room. The breakfast included with the business class room was great and the front desk staff friendly and efficient. The hotel is located near the river and a short walk over a foot bridge to the historic side of town. Don't miss the market which is held along a main street in the old part of town. The market, which is probably held just on weekends, was pretty incredible. We were lucky enough to chance upon a stage where various locals groups were performing traditional dances and songs. The costumes were great. Vilnius does not seem to offer as many interesting spots as some other Eastern European cities since much of the old city is gone. It will be worth it to schedule your trip to coincide with the market if you can. Just guessing that Christmas time will be a great time to visit. There is a nice, modern shopping mall next door with several places to eat. Stop at the chocolate stop located on the first floor for a treat. If you take a taxi from the airport, order the taxi from the tour desk located just before you exit the lower level of the terminal. it's easy to miss since it is tucked in a corner. They will arrange a taxi for a reasonable price and you can avoid being taken advantage of. The hotel will also arrange a taxi to take you to the airport, but the price was much higher than our ride in. However, having the taxi waiting for us when we left for an early morning flight was worth the extra cost. Otherwise, you can probably make your own deal much cheaper if you know what is going on. But, either way the taxi ride to and from the airport was reasonable compared to other cities.
