My husband and I were celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary. The property is beautiful, the surroundings are peaceful. However, I feel it’s important to share my experience to help other travelers who are considering this property
No compassion - I suffered a severely sprained ankle two days prior to my arrival at this B&B, requiring an air cast. There was no ground floor room available when I contacted the B&B. I appreciated their quick response & decided to try to make it work
Multiple stairs are mentioned on their website. But I did not realize the difficulty of the narrow outdoor stairss with no handrail, the polished wood stairs inside and having to walk down the hall to use the bathroom.
After one night we realized we couldn’t safely stay. I shared this with the hosts the next day. Little was said apart from their caution that nothing would be available in the area on a holiday weekend. We found a beautiful suite in Victoria costing another $1000
No value or privacy if you stay in the Seaview Room. Room is small with 14” TV, no mini fridge, no ensuite. The bathroom is passed by the hosts and other guests. Balcony is shared with other guests, hosts are always around. More like a stay with parents than an anniversary.
Basic breakfast that while thoughtfully prepared is more like what you could make at home. Not the elevated style of other B&Bs.
