We stayed at the hotel Scandinavia for 3 nights for our 25th Anniversary. The hotel is lovely and bit small the decor is very nice and the room we stayed in was just right for the two of us. We stayed on the 3rd floor and the hotel lift went up to floor 3 but not to the 4th so if you are planning on staying here and you have problems with stairs like me then tell them before you arrive so they don’t put you on the the 4th floor. They serve Continental breakfast if you like that sort of thing(I personally don’t ) fry up for me. Staff at the hotel are very friendly and make you feel very welcome. The fruit and veg guy outside is always there from about 6.30 till about 21.00 his strawberries are the best we have ever had recommend them to all.
Clean, offers free breakfast which I wasn't too impressed by, and nice bathroom. Good place to rest your head after a long day, but nothing really special about it. The staff is helpful in giving you directions and recommendations.
After eventually finding the hotel , lol, we were pleased by the greeting, we were given room 18 however this room is quite small and with no view so after requesting if they had another room overlooking the square we given room 24 , whist we had to a big extra it was definatly worth it , all the staff were very pleasant and very welcoming , the hotel is situated close to Rialto bridge and St Marks square , one place worth a visit is Venices secrets, the are plentiful of restaurants , the only I would say to avoid is Birreria Pedavena which is close to the square , whilst they encourage to go in , when in a different story , the owner ( I think ) was standing at the counter was constantly on his phone and when the bill came we told this is the bill and tips were separate ! With that attitude we declined to leave and left quite quickly .
We took a vaporetti from the train station and stop at the Rialto. It only cost us €15 rather taking a water taxi. From Rialto it took us around 8 minutes to find the hotel. It’s in the area of Santa Maria Formosa Church. The hotels is near good restaurants. The concierge Were very helpful. Breakfast was okay too.
Just back from a fantastic 4 night stay at Scandanavia. Checked in by Eliana and given map with good recommendations to eat and to get around. One of the recommendations was Agli Artisti a lovely family restaurant about 5 mins walk and we ate there all 4 nights.Breakfast was continental with a good range to get something to start the day.Rialto is about 5-10 mins away with St Marks about the same so great location. We were in room 31 a good spacious room with a terrace.Wonderful city and break helped by the Scandanavia and Eliana.
We stayed here for 4 nights in the middle of March. The location for this hotel is perfect. Staff was excellent. They were always very accommodating. Breakfast is from 7 to 10 am every day. It was a typical European breakfast of breads, cheese, meat and basic spread. The hotel itself was a bit dated. That didn't bother me so much as the hard mattress and the fact that you can hear every other room and everything on the street. I really liked the size of our room, we had room for our suitcases and that's about it. But I don't expect much being right in the middle of Venice. Overall if you are on a budget, looking for a hotel with a great location and don't mind the noise and a bit of a hard bed this is the hotel for you. The elevator/lift is now installed and can fit 3 people! (its small but works!) The hotel itself is under renovations and they are fixing some things up. I really think it was worth it for the price we paid and the convenience of the location.
Stayed here 11th March to 14th for a girls trip and as the title suggests this was our 1st time in Venice . Hotel is lovely very quaint and what I sort of expected it to be check in went very smooth considering 7 of us were checking in staff on reception were very friendly very helpful and very efficient not just at check in but any time we were coming and going . We were booked in bed and breakfast which I have to say was was typical continental style cereal tea coffee fresh orange juice croissants pastries meats cheese toast fresh fruit all perfectly pleasant and sufficient. The Hotel is relatively centrally located close to St. Marks square and The Rialto Bridge shops and plenty of lovely bars and restaurants . As I said earlier we were a party of 7 one of the girls booked seperate so she had a lovely room which was room 8 the other 3 rooms were 18,21 and 23 . 21 and 23 were large spacious rooms with large en suite bathrooms. I myself had room 18 which in comparison to the other 2 rooms was very small with a very small en suite so if you want a spacious room avoid room 18 . I read in previous reviews about concerns regarding the lift to eliviate your concerns the lift is installed and in full working order . Lastly the square that the hotel looks on to has market stall venders selling fruit souvenirs etc there are a few cafe bars one right next door as well as a few restaurants. All in all we had a perfectly pleasant stay in a lovely quaint hotel and I would absolutely recommend.
We came to this hotel 23rd feb for 3nights. To start with the water taxis well thats something else..😁..we got in at night and it was raining..so was a bit of a nitemare..but we managed..it was a bit of a hassle finding the hotel up all the wee dark streets..so we put out maps on tge phone and found it within 15min..got to the hotel the guy on reception was really nice told us everything. Got keys to the room and was surprised it was a spacious room..everything u needed and bathroom was the same..our room had a very small balcony but in winter u dont want ur door opened anyway..the breakfast in the morning was good also..the hotel was in great position near most things..we went to st marks square and its just a wow. And the rialto bridge is also stunning..u do do a power of walking from morning to night. Just be careful what restaurants u go to as theres always extras on the bill..very expensive place but we have done it now.
What a fantastic little hotel. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Eliania(spelled wrongly!) checked us is in and gave a map explaining and circling the hotel, the main attractions and suggested walking route to take them all in. We had a room on the 3rd floor over looking the square. There was a little noise from the cafe next door one evening and on the square but that's to be expected when room facing that way. The room itself and bathroom were of a adequate size, maybe the front facing rooms are larger than others, I can't say but I wouldn't describe them as small, by european standards anyway. There were a couple of English speaking news channels on tv but the Wi-Fi was excellent so Netflix and chill.... Breakfast was continental and all you could need. A co-op grocery shop was nearby where snacks and wine etc could be bought at a reasonable price. Location of hotel was excellent, 5-10 mins to St.Marks or Rialto bridge. We took the water bus Orange line from the airport to Rialto for €27 return each. It was the 5th stop and took about 35mins. Took less than 10mins walk to hotel using Google maps on phone. There were a few steps on the way so if you struggle with suitcases I'd recommend not getting off till St.Marks and a 10-12min flat walk although add time on water journey. When I return to Venice I'll certainly be staying in this hotel again.
The location of this hotel is very good. You are 10min away from the main points of venice. The hotel crew is also very friendly. The cons: Shower takes 10min to have warm water. Breakfast with same options everyday.
