Read reviews about this hotel before we booked, so we expected better. To start off, the front desk seemed undermanned as it took 30 minutes for us to get checked in due to long lines. We got to the room and there was a musty smell, and the carpet under the a/c unit was wet. The a/c controls were difficult to control. The bathroom was clean but stinky. It seems like a hotel that badly needs remodeling. It is a good location because it is right across from the train station and bus terminal. We were there only overnight as we went on our cruise the day after.

the room its not like the pictures. DIrty and old bath. HORRIBLE

You can walk to the Mestre station in 30 seconds, bus stop 1 min., metro 1 min.

I chose the upgraded room and it was definitely worth it. Room & staff were fantastic. Location was great. Did not get any street noise inside the room.

Hotel is right in front of the station which is very conventient. Breakfast was good and check in and check out was easy. Room was nice and no complaints.

The hotel room was not as nice as the rest of the hotel. It seemed outdated.

Great location for hopping the train to and from. Hotel staff is great with service.

hotel location is good but the wifi in the room is really bad. i have to go to lobby to use my computer. room is small but its adequate. AC doesn't seem to work but may is cool so don't really need it.

The location is what sold it for me! A 10 minute train ride from the canals, for about €1.50. And the breakfast was far beyond the standard continental breakfasts.

It was amazing and my accommodation was comfortable. The hotel is generally clean and near the railway station and bus stop going to Venice.

in general it is acceptable, good location and easy to walk around

The Hotel Plaza Venice is a true four-star hotel with high-quality furnishings, decor and the best included buffet breakfast ever. But it's in Mestre, the land-side town facing Venice, and that provides a terrific benefit. The hotel is across the street from the main Venice - Mestre train station: 10 minutes to Venice Santa Lucia station with trains every few minutes and only 1.2 Euro fares. And it's closer to Venice Marco Polo airport with an inexpensive airport bus two blocks away. What you avoid is hauling luggage from Venice Santa Lucia to the Vaporetto, crowding onto it it with hundreds of passengers, then walking blocks to your Venice hotel, which is twice the price as Mestre hotels. If it rains, your walk is terrible.

The plaza hotel is located across the street from the train station which takes you into Venice proper on a 10-12 minutes ride . And the hotel front desk will sell you a ticket. Also across the street is the blue bus to Marco polo airport ...about a 20 minute ride. Again you are able to purchase your ticket at the front desk.

the hotel is just across the street from the train station but still you cannot compare it to hotel in san marco. the hotel was not very clean and on my last day i smelled smoke of cigarrets. the breakfast was quiet good actually but the stuff didn't made an effort to fill the empty or to pay any attention to the guests. except this, the lobby was impressive, the stuff in the reception was extremely nice and the size of the room was satisfying. the main reason not to recommend this hotel is the location outside venice.

It could not be better.Without any surprise. The whole staff efficient and very polite.

We disembarked from a cruise in Venice and were looking for a hotel on the mainland to stay at for one night prior to flying home. This hotel fit our needs perfectly! For 4 of us plus luggage, it was a 32 Euro cab ride from the cruise terminal. The room was fairly spacious and very clean, and the bathroom was quite nice. The front desk staff was very helpful when it came to answering questions regarding getting to/from the island of Venice, as well as getting to the airport. After checking in, we had some time for sightseeing in Venice. Located just across the street from the Mestre train station, it was super easy to get to the island and back (10-15 minute train ride, 1.20 Euro per person each way). As for getting to the airport, that was easy as well. The hotel is located just across the street from an airport shuttle bus stop (20 minute drive, 5 Euro per person with luggage).

This is a great location as it is steps away from Mestre railway station. Very convenient to stay here and take a train or bus to go to Venice. No need to carry the heavy baggage and climb the very many bridges and the two or three floor high stairways of the hotels in Venice!

Clean convenient distance to venice by bus or hop on the train to go to Florence and Rome. I really appreciate their great breakfast service. It was an experience I will always remember. Thanks.

The hotel was perfect for our needs and relatively convenient to visit Venice itself. The only problem we had was that we were taking a cruise the following week and it left from Venice, so there was quite a bit of luggage for four people. We would have appreciated a shuttle to the ship, since it was difficult for all of us 'over the age of 60' to try and get everything to the port. The taxi was very expensive and it was impossible to get a bus, since everything was packed solid and the bus lines were incredibly long - and that was a rainy Sunday morning!

We only stayed one night, but everything was good. We emailed ahead to have them order a car to pick us up at the airport, and he was there on time. We also ordered a car through the front desk to take us to the airport, and he was there ahead of time. Rooms are very nice and spacious, although overlooking other buildings. Train station is right across the street, and only a 10 minute ride to Venice. Internet is free, but you have to request a user id and password.
