Perfect location for us. We took the ATVO bus from Marco Polo airport. That dropped us off at Piazzale Roma. From there it was an easy 10 minute walk to Nazionale Hotel. There are steps to climb to get up to the lobby but the hotel staff very kindly carried our suitcases up for us and stored them until we could check in. Our room was very clean and linens were nice and changed daily. Hotel staff arranged for a gondola ride that was shared with another couple and cost just $30/person which was much better than the $100 rate we had found everywhere else. Don't miss the lovely restaurant Povoledo which is just steps from the hotel and offers wonderful food and a Grand Canal view!!

We were very disappointed with this hotel. The room we were given was not to our liking, and when we asked to see another room - one with more space, we were told this is the biggest hotel room in Venice. We could show you other rooms, but they would not be bigger. Well they didn't show us a room, and yet when we went to breakfast we saw a larger and brighter room that the maids were working on. Our room was dark - the window was behind the bathroom door with a closet right across from it. If you could squeeze past the desk and the closet you could look out the window, but if the closet door was open it blocked out all the light. The room had dark red carpet, red walls, and red bedsheets, so the dark colors made the room seem even smaller. It was very dusty, and the spots on the ceiling from previous occupants having killed bugs was very evident. There was no refrigerator in the room, and we were told the room had every amenity. When we tried to dial out, we were told that it was not possible to get an outside line, and that our phone card would not work. Eventually we did get a staff member in the afternoon shift to get us an outside line. For $185 a night, we were very disappointed. I was making a preliminary run for a future tour group - we will definitely not stay here.

Great location within short walking distances to the train, bus, and vapporetti stations. The hotel needs upgrades with modern amenities, needs to have honest front desk personnel. Fire hazard exits, if they do have, need to be marked prominently.

Check in was easy, but there are some steep steps at the entrance and no elevator. The rooms were clean and small. Its really close to the train station which came in handy since you have to walk everywhere in Venice on that cobblestone surrounded by what seems like millions of tourists. All in all, would stay here again. The breakfast was very very basic.

Hotel is easily accessible from the train station and vapporetto points. The staff was very helpful in recommending an excellent restaurant for dinner each evening. Our room was really red!

Good location, tiny room even smaller bathroom. Front desk ok to rude. Cafeteria stuff extremely rude and unfriendly. Difficult to underestand how people who rely on tourism can be so rude. Bad breakfast, bathroom was nothing more than a portapotty.

Very close to train stations. And center of Venice close to grand canal. Little expensive. Room is small, but this is Venice.

Good location, walking distance from Train station. Excellent breakfast. BUT they tried to cover up an old hotel with sad cosmetics, mostly shades of red. Bathroom was added to an old small dark room making it even smaller. Shower soaked bathroom floor. Not for picky people!.

Hotel is a great location to tour Venice. Must carry. Bags up a flight of stairs to enter hotel. Rooms small but ok. Breakfast basic nothing special. Near train and restaurants.

My trouble was that I stayed at the Star Splendid with a tour group and it was beautiful, clean, etc.,, then moved to Nazionale. They lacked in amenities and you had to climb approx. 40 steps to get in to the Hotel. The people I was with were all in their 70's. But I guess for Venice standards, it was okay.

This hotel was Blah...the breakfast lacked anything to make it worthwhile, you had to track down the ladies to ask for cappuccino. The room was tiny, the front desk staff very unfriendly. The only good thing about it was how close it is to the train station.

Small room and smaller shower. Just wish wi-fi extended into the rooms and not just in the lobby. The location was great. minutes away from the train station and right in the heart of the action

the room was a hole in the wall, window behind a cupboard, 1 chair for three people, poor decoration, dark, stuffy. Much too expensive for the quality. Personnel very unfriendly, acting like doing a favor to the customer. Tried to cancel one day 72 hours in advance, had me call the US, gave me the wrong number, charged me for the call, the new number had a waiting time at my charge for 45 minutes. Result I paid 200 $ extra dollars for a room we did not use, which they were able to rent again, not even a hello or a smile. Worst hotel in a 3 week trip.

The hotel is a two minute walk from the train station and is easy to find. Older hotel but you are paying for location.

Hotel was very convenient to train, bus station and water buses. It was clean and comfortable.

The location is fantastic, just a short walk from the train station. The staff and amenities were nice. The bathroom on the other hand was comically tiny. It had a sink, toilet, bidet, and shower stuffed into a room the size of a closet. But the price was right and we were able to book very close to the date of our stay.

Hotel was very convenience located near the train station, free breakfast every morning was great.

Close to the train station, great shopping and eating places. We enjoyed the great breakfast before setting out to explore for the day.

Great location, walking distance from train station and also convenient for using vaporettos or walking to St Marks. A lot of good and cheap eating places nearby. Lack of wi-fi was a big minus as well as the long stairway to reach the lobby.

Really close to Venice train station. Walked to the hotel around midnight when we reached there. Simple, small rooms but comfortable with a pretty great (included) breakfast. Reception was helpful with telling us how to get around and explore the city.
