Very nice hotel, could do with better signage as a bit hidden away. The staff, in particular Irene and Leonardo were fantastic, very welcoming and helpful. The manager even took a photo of our group outside with our Lambrettas in the morning.
Thankyou Irene for being a welcoming face and explaining all we needed to know on bus fares to Venice very helpful. Can not fault this hotel because they delivered all that you expect and more. Breakfast was beautiful with a wide range of food and again very friendly staff. Dinner was great also. Easy bus ride to Venice just 5 minutes walk up the road also. Thankyou.
Nice and clean but food might be better Escpecially there was a lack of vegetables for breakfast The breakfast was the only weak point in comparison with other Mercure hotels Room was big enough and quiet AC worked as it should an it was quiet
This hotel rooms are large and spacious. Although you are right near the highway you hardly hear a thing. 20 minutes from the main Venice island by bus, easy enough. My only issue was the bar area, would only open at specific times, even if you wanted a soft drink or bottle of water. We was told use the vending machine which was constantly running low. Told to go to the local garage and buy drinks. Just seems a waste when staff are on the desk not particularly busy that they can't serve you even a soft drink or snack.
Spent two days here and it was just brilliant. Everything was top notch. One of the most beautiful places I have stayed at. Sit outside at the restaurant or the bar which was one of many and relax soaking up the views. Watch the sun go down, recommend for any couple as it's just romantic.
The one complaint I had was the surly waiters! Other than that the rooms were nice and clean, and the hotel was well located. They had a dinner included - so not impressed with it. Dessert was just some whole fruit stuck on a plate, not prepared at all, and they didn't seem to understand my wine order at all, I finally went to get my own at the lounge to bring back, but the tour guide fixed my problem. The food was not the best. At least the safe worked
Accor is our hotel chain of choice so Mercure just outside Venice was. a good way to avoid sky high city centre prices. Check out the local buses on Google maps and ACTV web site with times and a map showing stops. Like everything else in Venice buses can be very crowded. Don't expect a seat for the 20minute journey.
I have been here before, and I loved it although we didn't have breakfast back then. This time I not only fell on the bathtub, but I also had a bad breakfast. Let me explain - great beds, good night of sleep - bathtub was slippery and I fell down when I was leaving the bathtub to grab the shampoo. - from the reception, after asking for ice, they told me to pick the ice AT the reception or to ask a friend to pick it. I told them that I had just fell down there and I couldn't go. They ended up sending someone to bring the ice. - the breakfast looks nice but when you look closer doesn't worth its price: * The eggs and bacon were cold and tasteless. * Hot drinks were from bad coffee machine. * Bread looks crispy but once you're trying to open it, it would become too soft. Typically from that bread you buy at supermarket to put in the oven. * Juices were bad, not tasty at all. As well as the fruit salad which was not fresh, but from the can. They ended up placing some strawberries which sort of saved the fruit sector. * cappuccino or expresso you have to ask for it to the waitress. I only realized after seeing someone doing the same. The cappuccino looks completely different. * the cakes and croissants would be the only acceptable part. I felt quite disappointed this time.
The hotel is only a 10 minute drive away from the beautiful island of Venice, when I say 10 minutes, that is if you don't get lost! Italian roads and driving are challenging but once we finally managed to get to the hotel we were greeted with very friendly staff, the room was immaculate and dining in the restaurant was a pleasure and reasonably priced, portions were huge! The restaurant staff were extremely helpful and polite. We never had breakfast but would have quite happily paid the 10 euros if the dinners were anything to go by. I would recommend that anyone staying at the hotel take the local bus or train into Venice (a bit of a walk from the hotel though). it would've been a lot easier for us had we not been travelling a long distance during our stay. Despite being right next to a busy motorway. the noise was not an issue and I'd highly recommend staying at this hotel. It was extremely good value for money (just over £200 for 3 nights during a bank holiday weekend).
Mercure Marghera is an international brand hotel, which made it a very reliable choice for us in the see of hotels in and around Venice. Easily accessible from the highway, with free parking. There is good, but pretty crowdy bus connection to Venice. High-standard and spacious room, but not very well-constructed building, meaning some inner noise. However due that only few people stayed in the hotel it was not disturbing at all. Nice breakfast location and good breakfast. Nice staff.
