The hotel is in the north of Mestre, so when taking the bus to Venice in the morning there is a direct line, but returning in the afternoon/evening you need a transfer which does not connect. We ended up taking a taxi from the bus station. I would rate 2 star at most. ...Pro's: The hotel is clean Friendly and helpfull staff Good breakfast On Main road Good matrasses ...Con's rooms desperately needs upgrading. Wifi ONLY in the lobby and not in room. lot of fungus and mold in bed- and bathroom Small TV with ONLY Italian channels Noisy airco and ventilation shafts ( you can hear what the neighbors say &do) Shower did not drain crappy/loose toilet seat
We have just returned from this hotel, I was really worried because of the reviews I had seen on TripAdvisor before we left even to the point of phoning our travel agent and seeing if I could cancel the booking. I am so glad that I didn’t do that, the hotel was absolutely fine, we had room 405, it was clean and tidy, the bed was comfortable, it was warm, the bathroom was clean And big. The balcony was absolutely massive you could have had a party out there. The only reason I’m not giving it five stars is because there was no kettle in the room to have coffee/tea in the morning. There is a coffee machine in the reception area which you have to pay for. We did not have the breakfast as it was not included in our reservation. The staff were so friendly, helpful, they spoke English extremely well. Nothing wrong with this hotel at all I don’t know what all the fuss is about. There is a bus stop right outside the hotel, there is a Lidl store a few minutes down the road, there is a Roadhouse Grill just down the road. It is a easy bus ride (8AE) to Mestre Centro, or you can walk it’s just over a mile and from there a tram into Venice takes under half an hour. It is bus 15 from the airport to Mestre train station and a 32h to Mestre Centro and an 8AE to the hotel, just one stop after Lidl. So easy!! Buy a bus pass from the airport and use it on buses, trams and the water buses in Venice. Mestre central is a beautiful square, clean and big. There is a great Italian Restaurant called La Pino in the Centre. Definitely do not dismiss this hotel.
The hotel its self is acceptable. The bedroom/hotel was designed/decorated back in the 18th century ( literally crying out for a refurbishment ) no fridge. The toilet and shower are practically on top of each other. The breakfast was acceptable. Standard mixture of cold foods with a toaster and hot drink making facilities. The location is awful. We were told city centre Venice. It took us.. 1 Bus - 1 Tram - 1 Boat costing €20+ return. If you are a tourist that wants to see Venice, look elsewhere for accommodation unless of course you have a deep pocket and don’t mind a lot of public transport.
This hotel has a great price but that is about it. It is so far from the center and busses are not as easy as they look. They dont tell you the next stop and you have to push the button to let them know you want to get off but you have no idea where you are. Not worth it ! Spend your money for a hotel in the center, it is worth it !
Must say, the hotel itself looks really odd like from outside, but trust me, staffs are friendly, the receptionists are helpful and the breakfast is just amazing. However, the could do better by topping up regularly.... nevertheless the distance to Venice itself requires good old 30-45 mins off bus, €1.50 each way, affordable. The room itself is very spacious, requires a mat in the toilet or carpet in the room as the floor can get really cold... they opened heating on and off at night. Overall decent stay at hotel, equivalent to travelodge of U.K.
We must say at the start that the staff were wonderful and helpful! Very accommodating. The hotel itself is tired. Needs a full renovation. Taps won't shut off, bare wires on the bedside lamp and burnt out light bulbs for example. If you are looking for three stars, this won't do. The bus, available just outside the hotel, will take you to Venice with one transfer in the city centre.
We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights, we were told by the agents that we booked with that it was a lovely 3 star hotel in the city centre, it absolutely is not. I would not rate this hotel a 3 star. The room was very old, damp and smelt dirty. There was a lot of mould in the bathroom above the shower, the sink was extremely wobbly, the wardrobe was warped and broken, the light was covered in dirt and dust and flickered for a while before actually coming on and the door to the room was taped up using duct tape. To sit on the toilet your feet are literally in the shower which is awkward. The towels and bed lining smelt very much like vinegar, which was extremely unpleasant. The walls are so thin you can hear everything from the other rooms, including people using the toilet. The breakfast absolutely wasn't worth getting up for, the orange juice was watered down and we found better food in Lidl's. The room wasn't a double room it was two single beds pushed together that kept coming apart throughout the night. We believe there must have been bed bugs or mites as in the morning we woke up absolutely covered in bites, which was incredibly unpleasant and sore. The cleaners were ridiculously noisy and there was no 'do not disturb' signs which left us feeling paranoid that the cleaners would just walk in, especially as it happened to someone in the room next to us. The money we paid to stay in this hotel was truly not worth it, it wasn't at all cheap!
We were told as part of our deal that this is a 3 star hotel. It most certainly is not. The hotel for one thing is too far from the centre of Venice; you need to take 2 buses to get there. There is nothing of interest to to do around the hotel. The only positive being that the reception staff were friendly and helpful. The room was supposed to be a double room. This was not the case. It was two very uncomfortable twin beds pushed together. The room itself was tiny, dated and in dire need of a good, deep clean. There was no safe or fridge which I consider standard in what is supposedly a 3 star hotel. No wifi connection whatsoever, the walls are paper thin to the point we could hear people snoring in the room next door. No tea or coffee making facilities in the room. The sink in the bathroom was very wobbly, the tap leaked, the shower was disappointing and tepid for the most part. The cleaners did not change the bedding for the whole 3 nights we were here. Their attempts at making the bed were unprofessional and half hearted. There was no do not disturb sign to hang outside the door. It would have been pointless anyway given the amount of noise the other guests and cleaners make anyway. There is no hotel bar so nowhere to have a drink if you wanted to. Do yourself a favour and spend your money elsewhere. This is one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in.
Good points - Bust stop within 25 yards. Very good breakfast, had bacon, scrambled eggs and sausages as well as normal continental breakfast times. Large bedroom. Gimarco on reception so nice and helpful. Bad Points Very small bathroom, feet in shower when sitting on toilet! A bus and a tram ride away from centre. Bus back is only hourly after 9pm and last one is about10:30pm. Bus for coming back is number 12 for Roserio.
