Very hospitable receptionists that provided me with the right information, could even speak some Greek(!), very good room, warm and clean. Room service that responded to requests. Good food for breakfast. Thank you!
Nice hotel with helpful staff. Just a 2 minute walk to bus directly into Venice. Nice breakfast spread with a large selection of fruit, cheese, cold cuts, cereal, yogurt, bread and pastries plus coffee bar
Good room size, house keeping was non existent until the last day and had to keep asking for towels at reception. Close to town centre, 10 minute walk, lots of nice views and businesses on the way. Fridge didn’t work and no English TV channels, we pressed up until we couldn’t be bothered anymore. Reception team very polite and friendly. Restaurant doesn’t have much choice for non red meat or pork eaters, vegetarians or vegans. 90% of the options were pork, egg or cheese so I found myself eating toast, the few pastries on offer or the previous nights turkey slices (after explaining I only eat poultry and fish). It’s clean with a friendly team, just needs improvement on the house keeping and the eating options available in the restaurant.
Great hotel, friendly helpful staff. We got there at about 11.00am but they had a room for us ready. We were on the 5th floor just a short lift ride away from the lobby. We stayed four nights. Breakfast was the usual buffet style affair but a fairly good selection ideal to set you up for a day out sightseeing. Out of the hotel, turn right and about 75yds down the road is the bus stop to take you straight into Venice. It is the number 2 bus, takes around 15mins. It is €3 return. You have to purchase your tickets before boarding the bus. There is a TABAC shop just past the bus stop where you can buy tickets. You have to validate your ticket when you first get on a bus using a machine on the bus. Just hold it by the machine and it will beep. You can buy a 24 hour ticket for €20 which will allow you to travel on the waterbuses (or vaporetto's) in Venice as well. Ideal for exploring. Remember to validate your ticket on the waterbus as well !!! The inspectors will fine you if you don't even if you are a tourist. We didn't eat in the hotel, only had breakfast but it was ideal for us. We had a drink in the lobby bar and found prices on a par with other bars, restaurants in the area. 2 glasses of wine was €6, quite reasonable really. If you have late flights, you can leave your luggage and collect it later. I would definitely stay here again.
We booked this through easy jet holidays for a very reasonable price and this hotel exceeded our expectations! Having visited Venice various times it's never appealed to me to stay in the central area it can be quite full on and busy during parts of the year. The commute into main Venice was no longer then 20 minutes on a bus about 1-3 euros a day! Which suited us fine as it was quite exciting to travel in when we pleased and leave when pleased. The staff were brilliant, very amusing and pleasant front of house staff! We thought like most hotels avoid the over priced hotel restaurant however on our last night having had enough of the fake Venetian tourist traps (That ruin the authenticity of Venice and are riddled throughout unfortunately) we decided to stay local and honestly had the best meal from the whole week! Would recommend the beef - we often compare this to when we have beef at a restaurant months later! The room was clean, comfortable and we had a decent view! Venice Mestre in general is a very nice little place we found this to be more quaint and Italian then some spots in main Venice! Anyways would really recommend if like me, you're not too keen on the hustle and bustle, but also have fallen in love with Venice!
We booked a three night deal from Groupon. The hotel as a whole is quite nice and the breakfast buffet has great coffee and reasonable food. The first day the bedding was changed however we ended up with stained sheets - yellow patches on both sides of the covers. We reported to main reception and new (clean) covers were left in our room which we had to change ourselves after spending the day day in Venice. The room also smelt like drains. Its not that handy for getting to Venice itself either as a 25 minute bus journey is required in and out. Overall the bedding issue spoiled our stay; changing your own sheets after being given stained ones isn't much fun after a long day out.
We stayed here for two nights on a Weekender Breaks deal to Venice. Paid very little overall for the hotel and flights so weren't expecting much but a bed and shower. Pleasantly surprised! Hotel looks nice, sophisticated décor. Staff very friendly and helpful. Restaurant expensive but ok for breakfast. Rooms nice and warm and comfortable. Bathrooms clean and a nice rainfall shower. Transport links are easy, you can go to Mestre Station and get trains, trams or buses. Alternatively there is a bus stop just outside the hotel which can take you to Venice and back. Bar was well stocked, lobby warm. Helpful staff also can store luggage if you are out for the day after check out. Overall, a good stay and nice hotel and MUCH cheaper than staying in Venice proper.
We used this hotel as a base for our weekend away to Venice, it was a comfortable and enjoyable experience, the reception staff were very friendly especially Francesca, so we're the restaurant staff, I have no complaints and would stay here again x
We arrived in the evening and the concierge showed us to our room which was on the ground floor round the back. To say the bedroom was small is an understatement. The bathroom was decent sized but the lighting was terrible, one strip neon style lighting that made you feel like you were in a shoddy nightclub, and one overhead light which made very little difference. The room and bathroom both had spots of mould on the ceilings and walls. The 'double bed' was just two beds pushed together covered with a sheet and the bed itself wasn't particularly comfortable. The staff were nice enough and were quick to respond to requests, although we were asked to check out earlier than agreed quite rudely twice. The breakfast was fine, lots of choice, fairly basic. The hotel advertises having WiFi in rooms, however it's really crap. Doesn't work half the time and when it does it's unbelievably slow. In terms of locations you're about a 20 min bus ride from Venice itself. Mestre is a good area. I wouldn't recommend staying here.
This was the second stopover of our visits to Rome, Venice & Florence. After the disappointment of the hotel in Rome we we pleasantly surprised by the Apogia Sirio. There was a wonderful welcome from Josef. ..and we were sited in the ground floor annexe. The room was big with everything you needed. The breakfasts were simply delicious and in the evening the restaurant served a selection of very nice meals, all well priced...as were the drinks in bar. It was well placed for bus trips (No 2) to the train station...or directly across to venice lagoon - very cheap tickets from tobacconists. If I had to nit pick..,the room was difficult to keep comfortably cool. I'd be happy to visit again...
