Casa Martini was a nice hotel for a few days in Venice. It is relatively easy to get to from the train station. The staff was friendly and helpful and check in/check out was easy. The room itself was fine. I liked the shower and the bed. We had an nice view of the outdoor patio. The only thing that I really didn't like about this hotel and will stop me from staying there again is that there is a fashion store on the ground level that pumps loud music all day. We weren't in the hotel very much during our stay, but it pretty much goes from 8am -8pm and waking up to that is very unpleasant. I stayed on the second floor - maybe higher floors wouldn't have been so bad.
Do never belive anyone who works In this hotel can do something like this... Here is my story; I booked this hotel In August but the stay period should be 8-11dec17. We made booking through booking.com 3 nights for 6 people. We decided to pay at hotel but as Well this option was more expensive than payment by card. The trip should be done In less that to weeks And guess What?! The hotel cancel our booking because they couldnt blocked money by card. Noone contact us that there should be money for all stay to be blocked. Just cancel suddenly everything.. And guess What?! Now the prices are very expensive And hard to find for 6 people.. So better Whach out because your booking is not confirmed at All.
I booked this locanda becouse I slept here years ago and I remember it as a cozy and charming family hotel. Now it has enlarged but the service is not grown as the dimension. Forget to find someone at the reception after 5 p.m. The automatic door at the entrance is very slow so anyone can enter, take the unguarded keys and enter the rooms. I asked an additional curtain in the morning; when I returned in the evening they had not provided it and it was impossible to find someone to ask. In the morning I throw some towels on the floor becouse I wanted them to be changed and in the evening I found the same towels folded (they were pretending to have changed them) - and there were nobody to ask. The breakfast is quite poor. Except for this, a nice atmosphere.
This is definitely not a 4 star hotel with a grand reception lobby, but something you can get at reasonable rates (venice standards) and is really at a great location. Young man at the reception was very friendly and was eager to help with anything we might need - something you don't see often in Italy! The room was bit old but spacious. Coloring was overdue but bathroom was great. Overall a pleasant stay. Only downside that I can think of is that it has a huge staircase right at the entrance, even before the reception desk and you will have to pull your heavy luggage up on those stairs.
Highly recommend this hotel and especially want to recognize the service from Mihai at the front desk. We had a total mixup from a useless booking agency that cancelled our fully-paid booking on the day, and then failed to confirm the replacement which was meant to be Casa Martini. We showed up at 9pm expecting to have 2 nights with Casa Martini, and despite them having never heard of us due to the agency's fault, Mihai came over after hours to find us a room for one night and went to lengths to try sort out the confusion. The room was lovely and clean, typical small Venice style, but that is what you pay for! Tastefully done, breakfast and reception area very cute. Unfortunately only got the one night as that was all they had, but were very accommodating with looking after our bags and figuring out payment, considering it was not their problem to start with. Thank you to Mihai and the team!
We had a beautiful room with canal view , windows with traditional persiane at the window, everything clean with a Venetian flair . The room was with gold accents , a huge mirror in the opposed side of the bed, behind the mirror was a small TV , in the day time you wonder for what is the remote control ,because you don`t see the TV. the room had air conditioning ,small fridge , small safe , wardrobe. The bath was with shower ,bidet, toilet, hair drier. We had everything we needed. Everything clean in the room but also in the breakfast area ,reception, garden. The Hotel is an old Venetian House with stairs but it´s normal, with big bed, huge bed i can say . The breakfast was very good and the staff friendly , a nice Venetian atmosphere with old paintings, mirrors, lamps and sound of Venice coming through the balcony. We recommend the superior room. The Hotel is very close to the Train station and you have access near by to vaporetto station stops, gondola at 50 meters from hotel, COOP supermarket 2 minutes away , local shops ,bakery , fish spa everything in 5 minutes range . Also the staff from hotel had hold the baggages for us before check in and after check out so we can stay with no worries a little longer in Venice. We had a great experience in this hotel hearing every night the sound of Venice , people on the streets the boats the italian waiters inviting people in restaurants to eat , gondoliers offering a ride on the canal , was a dream for those who want to enjoy the real Venice and doesn´t have stupid expectations like elevator in a very old venetian house ( over 1500 years old ) or perfect walls with no cracks on a floating city ! , authenticity is what you find in this hotel and that´s why I love it and I will come back here!
On my last visit to Venice we stayed at CASA MARTINI, which is very strategically located at a 5/7 mnt walk frm St. Lucia station. Its amidst shops and quaint little restaurants, and a cherry atmosphere. However it was all tarnished by the sight of our room (no 3) which had 2 beds, a tiny bed table and a shell of an open closet. Not a chair, nor table nor drawers in sight. The man at the check in Mr. Erico was one of the most rude, unpleasant, unhelpful and uncooperative human being I had the misfortune of meeting. He truly does not belong to the hospitality industry. The other staff members were also pretty clueless and adrift. We had to request for the smallest of things like change of towels, paper tissues etc. It nullified the feel good factor of the beautiful place and surroundings. Only positive attribute was it's powerful air condition which was very welcome from the relentless heat and sun outside..I however am compelled to mention that on the last day we were lucky to encounter a staff member by the name of Ghalib who was diametrically opposite of Erico, at least we left the place feeling a bit pleased.
This hotel is terrible, the room was dirty, the AC did not work and if you are over 5'10" your feet will hang over the edge! The staff were rude and unhelpful, not even attempting to offer to carry our luggage up 4 flights of stairs. The first morning we had breakfast but on the second morning the 'manager' came rushing over and in front of the other guests loudly and aggressively shouted that breakfast was not included in the package. I was about to thump him but luckily (for him, I'm not a small fellow!) my wife intervened as she could see the red mist coming down in my eyes and she told him that was not the way to talk to guests and he should have politely told us if we wanted breakfast there would be an extra charge (in fact we rightly paid for the first days breakfast when checking out). I pay my way in life but I don't tolerate rudeness and belligerence anywhere I come across it! DO NOT STAY HERE.
Close to station. We found it thanks to Shahden our bangladesh porter. Otherwise difficult to find. Terrible receptionist. Very rude. Limited breakfast. Nothing to write about. You have luggage you are finished. So many steps to climb. Indians be careful Europe charges like anything even when their economy is doing so badly. I am proud of India. We are very reasonable.
The room was very clean and furnished with lovely old furniture. The bathroom was also clean with large fluffy towels. The only drawback was no tea or coffee making facilities, but their are lots of cafe's close by. The breakfast is confidential and was top up regularly. The staff were only to happy to help wherever they could. The hotel is located in the centre of Venice, so it was easy to get to all of the attractions.
