Firstly I would like to say, staying on the island of Lido and traveling into the city each day on the water bus's is a fantastic way to travel around but also still get to relax away from the hustle and bustle of the winding streets of Venice. The hotel is a 10-15 min bus ride from the water bus station at Lido. There are may shops and restaurants near the terminal. My partner and I were very happy with the hotel. Nice size, clean, good size bathroom and had AC. The room as also cleaned daily by very friendly staff. The daily breakfast was also very nice. The pool is huge and with nice surroundings, we went in September and the hotel was very quite, we had the pool to our selves most days. The only thing i would keep in mind is that you need to get the Bus to go anywhere unless you hire a bike or car for the island. Overall great stay and the city of Venice is fantastic!
A very basic establishment aimed at providing a bed in a room. Bathroom was dirty, and manager insisted it is cleaned every day. Obviously not very well! Would not even consider staying here again. When we spoke to a manager, he was quite rude and dismissive. It was our fault we chose the hotel. He offered to fix transport to our new hotel - using their shuttle bus but, oh, it was fully booked. He called us a taxi which he allowed us to pay for! No offer of refund or any recompense in any way. Not a good advert for Venice, but fortunately we know, and have experienced, better.
Where do I start? The bathroom had red stains on the floor near to the toilet brush (I don't want to think about what had caused this stain). The shower was dirty, and the skirting in the foyer had dust and dirt along it. Peter will post photos. The manager argued with us and told us the rooms were cleaned every day. He also argued that the price was good for prices in Venice, though we were in Lido on the outskirts of Venice approximately 3 miles from the Waterbus. He continued to argue with me, why not eh? He had the money we paid for 6 nights (£354). Breakfast was no better than a youth hostel would provide. Here are photos of the view from our bedroom. We were so disappointed we found another hotel to stay in. We would definitely NEVER go here again! In contrast the food in the onsite restaurant was very good and the service was excellent.
We stayed at the hotel for 2 nights at the end of our trip. We choose this hotel as it was one of the few with a pool on the Lido We arrived by water bus from Venice island and found that our water bus passes also covered the bus to and from the port to the hotel (normally 1.50euro per journey) It was about a 15 minute journey and the bus stops were only a couple of mins walk from the hotel (although we got off at the wrong stop when we arrived and had no idea where we were, thank god for google maps) The room was clean and basic. A fridge would have been nice. We were on the ground floor and the terrace was covered in weeds so not a nice place to sit. Wifi was good in the room and by the pool Breakfast was adequate. Good coffee machine. Bread rolls, cheese, ham, croissants, boiled eggs, fruit, yogurts. The pool was large and not many guests around it during our visit. The hotel is based at a tennis center and we were told we couldn’t sit in certain seats by the pool as they were reserved for the tennis people. We never ate there of an evening as we caught the bus into town.
Bought this package with hotel and flights and it was probably the best choice! In true honesty, the hotel is quite far from the water bus stop on Lido strip, but there are constant buses coming and going, even throughout the night so no need to worry about that! We bought bus tickets but never got to use them, so my advice would be to not bother as no one was validating any tickets when getting on. When we got there we were welcomed very nicely. The rooms are in smaller buildings around the resort and it's absolutely lovely to come here with more families/friends. The rooms are very clean, new towels every day, great wifi connection, english tv programmes and nice air con. We tried the pool as well and must say it was very relaxing and nice to bathe in the sun. One night we tried the hotel restaurant as well and it was good food for an ok price. The breakfast was lovely, with loads of things to choose from and the setting was pretty nice too. The hotel has a shuttle bus which run every morning until 10.30 to the vaporetto stop. We were veryy satisfied with everything really, the decor of the rooms, the hotel facilities, the staff.. all very lovely!!
Excellent location in the middle of a beautiful island, nice and polite staff speaking good english, a great swimming pool. I also appreciated the free transport every morning to the center of Lido, the breakfast, the fact that you could rent bycicles to explore the island on your own! Very pleased with my staying at Ca' del Moro! ❤️
I do not want to go to Italy anymore. It's a bad experience for me and my family. You agreed to cancel my booking of two-night stay as one-night stay, but you did not tell me that I have to pay for two nights' stay. If you did, I will not book another hotel. That's not good. The experience is so terrible for me. And we spent 84 Euro to the island by boat, and 18 for the taxi. I think it is too expensive to sleep in this hotel.
We stayed here for 3 nights this weekend. We flew in to Trevisio. Got the ATVO to pl.rom and then the 5.1 boat to Lido. The hotel is clean and modern and the Continental breakfast has a great selection. Even some gluten free options! You have to pay 10E for the pool pp per day (check before you go that this is included), though he did let us get half day options when we got back hot and sweaty from Venice. Lido it'self is a great location. 24 hour buses and water buses to Venice. We spent the day there and the evenings in the lovely bars and restaurants of Lido. Lido has some of the safest roads we have come across so we hired bikes from the hotel 10E and spent the day exploring. Great fun. Beware we thought we had scanned our vapourette pass on our very first journey but it had not turned green just beeped (we did not know this had to happen) and were fined 60E each! we bought a 3 day pass for 40E in advance.
Upon arrival at Lido di Venezia, I rung the hotel to ask for directions as the sat nav was taking us down the road. After asking a couple of questions, the man on the phone was sighing and in the end he hung up on me. The breakfast selection was very poor. The life gaurds at the pool were unhelpful and rude. There were loads of frogs in the pool on the last day after it thunder stormed the night before. Whenever I pointed one out to the lifeguard, it seemed like hassle for her to get (attached photos of 2 frogs on the side of the pool). The room was quite far from the pool and in hotel description it stated that a beach was close. It turned out that it was a rocky beach, not a sandy one, which you had to get a bus to. The hotel had no towels to give us at the pool one day. No apology was given or a suggestion to rectify the situation. The price of certain items at the pool side cafe were extremely high. Fanta was €3.30, whereas in the vending machines by the rooms it was only €2. We booked a double room, which was two single beds put together. There was only one mirror in the room, which was in the bathroom.
Positives - very helpful and knowledgeable reception staff with clean and adequate rooms. Free wifi in rooms. Do not expect any good views from the rooms but it was fine for our stay which did not involve much time in the rooms. Good value but needed transport to get to the boat station. Buying a transport pass is the best idea as covers most types of transport in Venice as well, (eg. 60 euros for 7 days other options available) If you buy a single bus journey ON the bus it is 3 euros!! Misleading write up. The beach nearby is rocky, sandy beaches a bus ride away. Pool - well at an extra charge of 10 euros a day pp Breakfast foods cleared away at 9 30 on the dot even if you were there still eating and the staff unhelpful and unfriendly. Avoid the pool restaurant. Food very expensive, the menu misleading and very uninspiring food. My 'thin cut chips' were actually crisps and this with chicken and salad was well over £10!!! A very unfriendly, curt and unhelpful manager.
