Having stayed in a couple of other Coast properties, I'd say that those folks who rate this property higher than a 3 are being gracious. Don't get me wrong, this is a decent hotel but it's the Toyota Corolla of the family. It's not stylish & luxurious like the Avalon but it's comfy & gets you where you want to go. As many have noted, it's tired-looking throughout but it's clean (not spotless). The atmosphere is casual and all the staff we had contact with were friendly. We didn't have the Casino &/or street noise issues some have expressed. In fact, when I was in the lobby, I couldn't hear the familiar carnival-like noise of the slots. We travelled with a pet so we were put on the second floor, which was handy for taking the dog out and despite being a pet room, there were no odours to speak of. There was however, the staining one would expect from such a room. The hotel location was perfect for us and very close to various casual dining spots, shops, a large grocery store and it's about 5 minutes by car to Costco & the Willowbrook Mall. The final most important factor for anyone is, 'Would I stay here again' and the answer is a confident, 'Yes.'
It was just ok really, I think a little too expensive just for a fun trip, you really only sleep in your room so over a hundred a night is a little much. The staff is very nice yes I will admit that but it just seems a lot when you want to have fun at the casino and it costs so much just to sleep.
Stayed here for a convention. The rooms were nothing fancy or exceptional. In our case, when we checked in, the fridge had old food that had not been cleaned out, and there were pills on the desk... Not a great impression. Bed was comfortable. The dining was separated from the casino by a low wall, so we were subject to all the noise associated with the casino. I was there for a convention, not to gamble, and as a non-gambler, the parade of wretched people and the noises associated with the casino were unpleasant. We watched a thief going through cars in the parking lot in the early morning, so that was a bit off-putting, but not the fault of the hotel
Check in went smoothly with ample parking. Starbucks in the lobby. Room was clean, a little bit dated though. Housekeeping was good, no issues. Match restaurant at Casino attached was good. I would stay here again.
great kids did this for our anniversary.. I got to enjoy the casino and my husband enjoyed the peace and quite....We would love to do that again. Good food buffet had lots to chose from . The grill restaurant was clean, great staff, good atmosphere enjoyable food and choice a food...
Third time I’ve stayed for a girls night out. Ok room, comfortable beds. expensive, $187 for 2 queen bed room. no pool or Ho tub. Casino has no live entertainment. Restraunt on site 1 1/2 hour wait. So we had to leave premises to get dinner. Lounge has been turned into bingo parlour. Next time will stay close by at hotel that at least has a pool, walk over to casino...used to be one stop & enjoy. Not anymore. Starbucks in lobby.
Everything went smoothly - was nice to have the casino, restaurant & Starbucks on site for evening entertainment. Conference sound, space & set-up worked well. Management was helpful when a vehicle issue arose. Would stay here again.
We had our work Christmas party here. The food was pretty good. Staff was nice. It was fun to end the party in the casino. The hotel room was nice, bed was comfy. We had breakfast at the buffet and that was unfortunately not very tasty. But the rest of the experience was great.
The hotel is okay. Nothing over the top about it. I don't think you get what you pay for. Bottles of water in the room are $3.50 each. For $145 a night you would think this would be free. Rooms are fairly decent but could use some updating. Hotel has a casino, buffet, sports bar and coffee shop. Word of warning. If you need something extra from housekeeping you may have to go to the front desk yourself, as I did.
We get a great rate here when we come to stay for the CRA Trade show. The staff is all friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean, the location is good. Another happy stay. We will definitely stay again next year for the convention and will recommend to friends and family.
