We stayed here one night and found the location to be excellent. Several places to eat within easy walking distance and just a few minutes walk to the movie theatres. Our room seemed like it was newly renovated. It was vety nice and had a great bathroom too. We had a very comfortable king size bed with a thick and cosy comforter. The young lady at the checkin counter was very pleasant and accomodating. Would stay here again. Price was very reasonable as well.
I enjoy the location of this hotel and stayed throughout the summer for work. Depending on which floor you stay in (renovations are underway), the room is clean and the bed is comfortable. You may or may not get a mini fridge in the room, but there's plenty of options within walking distance. WiFi is mediocre, but consistent that way at least. The real reason for a lower rating is for the front desk staff, with the exception of one outstanding staff member named Cassandra (I would give her 5 stars!). While they come across as 'friendly', they are neither professional or accommodating. I stay because that's where my company books me in so I didn't have much of a choice. My company has heard the grumblings of our team and is considering alternatives. The absolute worst part of every trip is checking in, and I've stayed there 40+ nights since May. Customer service, in my opinion is vital and it's a bonus if you have even the slightest conflict resolution skill. Unfortunately, most staff have neither. If you don't mind the interaction with staff at check in, then this is a decent place to stay.
My husband and I stayed here on our wedding night so just one night. The room was very nice and updated including the bathroom. The bed was comfortable and the pillows were amazing. The front desk staff were very nice and welcoming. We needed to check in 2 hours early and they were able to accommodate us which was great. I'd recommend staying here. It is also a convenient location since it is right by the highway but I didn't notice any sound from the cars. They do have parking and a Denny's is attached.
My sister and I recently stayed here. The room was nicely appointed and sunny and bright. But at night, the drapery does not meet in the middle and overlap letting in all the street light. We were on the second floor. At least provide clothespins to keep the drapes shut!
We have stayed at this location before and rooms were clean and comfortable. This time the room was dated and awful. The bathroom is just plain disgusting! In between tiles on bathroom floor are black with dirt. Corners are filthy. The bathtub is probably the grossest I have ever seen. We will never stay here again!
We were in Langley for the AAC National Agility competition, so there were lots of dogs everywhere. No problems, friendly staff, quick service to any requests, with easy access to the Thunderbird Equestrian Centre, only a few minutes down the road. A 24hr Dennys is attached to one end of the building, so very early breakfasts are not a problem. The other end of the building has a liquor outlet, for those who needed a quiet drink after a long, hot day of competition. There are many restaurant choices within walking distance, you can always find something to eat. Lots of grass around, so dogs and handlers didn't have far to go to pee (the dogs that is). Solid construction, so even close to elevators and on the ground floor, noise was not an issue. I would stay here next time.
Really like the hotel and location. Since we were visiting family we had plenty of things to do near buy including the movie theater and quick access to the Trans Canada highway. Staff were super friendly and I found the room clean and comfortable. Lots of places to dine near by. The hotel had no problem granting us a late checkout which we really appreciated. We will stay here again when visitng family.
Recently stayed at this underwhelming property during a road trip for my daughter's Softball provincial championships. To be fair, the location is excellent given it's easy access to the freeway to all points in the lower mainland. It is also surrounded by numerous decent restaurants within walking distance including a good sushi restaurant sharing the same parking lot. The double rooms were on the small side and flat screen tv was not high definition. Channels were very limited as well. Furnishings a little banged up and should likely be replaced soon. Soundproofing was abysmal. A field hockey team from Alberta was staying at the hotel while we were there and they used the room beside ours to prepare and serve team meals including 6:00 am breakfast which consisted of loud talking, banging, smoke and setting off the smoke detectors! Not a great way to start off our days! There is no pool at the hostel and the staff refused to allow us and the other parents the use of the vacant boardroom for socializing and drinks. One particular front desk night clerk or night auditor was particularly problematic and appears to have learned his customer service skills from a stint as a guard in a gulag, POW or concentration camp. A number of the parents were quietly enjoying some beverages on the adjoining patio of the long mothballed Cactus Club, when he approached and aggressively began barking orders that all were to "immediately shut it down" and go back to our hostel rooms/prison cells! Adding that we were all trespassing and illegally consuming alcohol. This after the very reasonable security guard on duty earlier told us that as we were keeping things quiet and mellow, we were free to remain. Notwithstanding this, the most aggressive, impolite and provocative night manager carried on attempting to provoke a conflict. In no uncertain terms we were commanded to go back to our rooms and they we were not permitted to use the vacant boardroom in the hotel as it was "owned by Denny's restaurant". He also advised that we were not permitted to sit and socialize in the front lobby area. Prior to eventually retreating to our rooms as ordered, we observed the commandant comically marching around the first floor lobby, hallways and parking lot looking for others to threaten and harass. The hotel would be wise to relieve him of his post and send him packing back to the gulag or concentration camp where he came from. I can most certainly say that I have never experienced such poor treatment from staff at any hotel or resort. We were spoken to like inmates or children at summer camp. Astounding. Thankfully, this "warden/commandant" did not work the next evening so common sense prevailed and the front desk person advised that we were permitted to socialize with beverages on the small back patio area. The lipstick on my coffee cup in our room was a nice touch as was the antique telephone from the 80s that had no wire attaching it to the plug in in the wall. It's the little understated and elegant touches that go such a long way! On a positive note, the bathroom and shower appeared to have been recently renovated. The shower head was the large rain water type one, which I found to be refreshing and enjoyable after being violently awoken by the smoke, loud banging, voices and fire alarms emanating from our neighbors at 6:00 a.m. The AC worked very well also. Unfortunately, the room smelled quite bad, like there perhaps had been a family of chronic non-stop smokers in the room for a week prior to our arrival. Given the foregoing, I cannot give this establishment a ringing endorsement and recommend it only if your other options are sleeping in a jail cell, under a bridge, in a pup tent or crack den, AND ONLY IF you get a very cheap room rate!
We needed a place for one night during our renovation. Most reasonable rate was $219 for a king room. Only basic cable available for tv, and even though the room information package said there were movies on demand, that turned out not to be true. No mini bar or snacks in the room even though they took a $450 preauthorization on my card to cover "incidentals". Honestly, if I had any idea that this place was so second rate we would have gone downtown for the night.
Good price, good location, convenient & easy to get to. Front desk staff were fantastic. Room is crowded. Bed is comfortable. A little run down. Bathroom was dirty.. hair on the floor & in the tub GROSS.
