Sketchy area

The hotel itself was nicely updated and quiet. Service was great. However, there are homeless folks that hang out right close and it didn’t feel super safe. The surrounding properties are also in bad condition. It’s unfortunate, because this place was comfortable and quiet, however I would not stay again due to the surrounding area.

The area around the hotel was sketchy. Homeless people lingering around. One even knocked at my door. A shooting was reported earlier in the week that i wasn’t aware of. The hotel room itself was nice. Had a problem with a clogged sink. They sent repair guys to fix the problem. It was more than a quick fix, and they were in my room about an hour or so.

We were here for a girls weekend to go to a concert. We were surprised it was more of a motel with doors on the outside, but we felt safe. Breakfast was great. Staff were friendly.

Our experience

I booked the room with 2 things in mind. A pet friendly place and that it had a bath tub. Which it said it had both. But when we arrived I was told I would be paying an extra 44 dollars for my dogs, non refundable. Then we get into the room and no tub. We asked at the counter and was told that they already booked the room I asked for with the tub but if we wanted a pet friendly room with a tub it would be an additional $58. So we just used the shower only to find out that the shower drain was plugged and had we continued the shower it would have flooded the place out. Bed wasn’t comfortable but we did have a fairly decent breakfast. This was supposed to be a small getaway for me and the wife on our anniversary but turned out to be a waste of time and a lot of money.

This is an older Motel, but well maintained and very nice, my room was quiet, and the staff wonderful. My only complaint was a shower with very little water pressure. The grounds were very nice and well maintained. I visit my mother nearby and will stay here again. There another hotel very close by however, that is run down with nothing but weeds around it, and there's a large homeless population and clientele. I never felt unsafe, and it's too bad Windham doesn't seem to care about its property, the entire area is nice other than this one motel.
