Eurostars Park Hotel Maximilian

The building is absolutely beautiful both inside and out. It speaks of an era of opulence and beauty for the sake if beauty. Sadly the soft interiors are cheap and tacky. The rooms are decorated terribly and in complete misalignment with the look and feel of the building. Our room was at the back side of the building and incredibly noisy due to drunk students on a Saturday night. Not really the fault of the hotel but we did ask for a quiet room so I wonder what the alternative was. Breakfast was ok, but lacked inspiration. We saw so much potential in this place but I think it is now just one in the chain of Eurostar hotels which is a great pity.

Was at this hotel for 1 night and as i have previouslly review on the hotel, my this review will focus more on something new/different about the hotel compared to my last visit: 1) Room 212 I noticed the room bathroom have been refurbished. There is no bathtub but a newly installed shower stall. It was much better and nicer in my opinion. However the shower isnt very easy to manage especially to balance the water temperature. The shower screen also could not effectively prevent water from splashing out. But nevertheless, this newly refurbished bathroom is much better than the old ones. Room 212 is overlooking the park, hence it is very quiet and pleasant. 2) Buffet Breakfast: I noticed the selections of beverages has been improved - new addition of flavoured tea now and i love it. Two thumbs up. As usual, the breakfast at this hotel is good. Overall, this is a good hotel in regensburg city centre, near to regensburg HBF.

The hotel is located on one of the main shopping streets of Regensburg. It is a 5 to 10 minute walk (with luggage) to the main railway station and a 15 to 20 minute liesurely stroll to the other side of the Old Town and the river Donau. The Romantic Christmas Markets are located in the grounds of the old Turn and Taxis Palace on a small hill immediately behind the hotel. We found the rooms clean and spacious, elegantly furnished, comfortable and well heated. Private bathroom/ensuite was modern and spacious enough. Breakfast was varied and plentiful. We found the staff friendly and helpful. We only stayed for two nights and could not see many restaurants/cafes, pubs near the hotel, they appeared to be located more in the Old Town, closer to the river. A very comfortable and pleasant place to stay.

We visited Regensburg during a week travelling in Bavaria. It was located within 5 minutes (walking) of the station and we were lucky to be able to book into our room early. The hotel is an old palace which has a very warm feel about it but the rooms have been modernised with very comfortable beds & new bathrooms. The only thing I found a little odd was it seemed that, whilst the rooms had been modernised the doors had not been updated but this obviously didn’t impact on our stay. The staff where very helpful and a nice touch to have a warming glass of gluhwein and slice of stollen waiting when we returned from sightseeing. The hotel is within easy walking distance of the old town and even closer to what was my favourite Christmas market of our whole trip at the Thurn & Taxis palace. Overall a well located hotel for visiting Regensberg.

Location: only 5 mins walk to Regensburg HBF, in the heart of the town. Opposite is a Macdonald. The only thing I don’t like is the layout of the room where the WC is separated from the bath. Breakfast spread is wonderful.

Stayed here for 3 nights for business trip. Very near to the office and jn the city center. Great breakfast and clean room. Frontdesk is accomodating. No problem encountered duribb my stay. Free good coffee at the lobby.

The hotel was very conveniently located being a five minute walk from the train station. It is at the beginning of a mainly pedestrian zone and all the sites are within walking distance. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the staff was friendly. The hotel does not have A/C. We had the advantage of good weather with cool nights and did not even need to use the fan that was provided in the room. But a hot summer night could be a problem.

I was at this hotel for 5 nights and my review as follows: 1) Location: It is nicely located within 5 minutes walking distance from the train station and flix bus stop. There's a mcd opposite, open 24 hours and located at the starting of the shopping street in regensburg, therefore everything is very handy. The location is excellent overall. 2) Hotel Building, Lobby & Check In Hotel Building is very nice and classy so as the lobby. The seating area is very grand. There is also a coffee machine for coffee and hot water at the lobby (free to be used by guest at any time for hot drinks). Two thumbs up for this. Check in was fast. Overall the check in experience at this hotel is pleasant. 3) Room 117 Room size is ok. Room deco is also ok for a 4 star hotel. I dislike the window looking over some offices window at a very close proximity. I am not sure if the people from the office can look into our room, hence our curtain is closed most of the time. The lightings in the room is inadequate in my opinion. Once curtain is closed, it is very dim and dark. The shower area and toilet area are also separated. Shower area is not well designed in my opinion. It is very slippery to get on the bathtub to shower as well as to get off the bathtub after shower. The shower glass partition also is inadequate in preventing water flowing to the floor of the bathroom after shower. Therefore each time after shower, the floor gets wet. It is a little dangerous in my opinion. If the hotel decides to undergo renovation in the future, please replace the bathtub with just shower stall - it is safer in my opinion. Overall, I have mixed feelings on the room. 4) Wifi Very fast and easy to connect. Two thumbs up. 5) Buffet Breakfast Breakfast area is very nice and grand. The spread is acceptable for a 4 star hotel. But the spread is almost the same everyday. It gets bored after the 3rd day. I usually goes for breakfast at about 9am to 930am (since the breakfast is until 1030am). I noticed some food items are not replenish on most days after 930am. For example - the watermelon, luncheon meat/meatloaf, burger patties. I thought the service could have been better since this is a 4 star hotel. 6) Luggage Storage They have proper luggage storage room for free for guest. 7) Housekeeping service I have to comment on the housekeeping service because apparently they dont have any room cleaning services after 1pm. I find this very weird for a hotel of 4 star standard. Yes, we put on the signage "do not disturb" until 1pm because we decided to continue sleeping after breakfast due to our late arrival from Prague the day before. Hence, at about 1pm or so, when we decided to explore the city and requested for housekeepin service, we were told it is not possible as the cleaners have all gone off duties. They can only replace our towels. I find this a bit weird especially when Ibis regensburg Hotel (which we stay prior to this hotel) dont have any problem cleaning our rooms at 2pm or 3pm. I hope the management can look into this issue seriously. If no housekeeping services is available after 1pm, guest should have been informed about it beforehand. Overall, i think this hotel could be better. Maybe the room facing the park should be better and have more privacy compared to the rooms facing the offices. Anyway, if the price is not too high, this hotel is a great choice due to its fantastic location. Recommended.

Great location. Still only a 3-star hotel. Such a shame because it could be a 5-star with the right investment. Beds were 2 twins pushed together, as typical in Europe. They were OK for Europe, but still hard by US standards. Shower water was OK, but the pressure sucked. Breakfast was OK. Parking is extra in a tiny underground garage. Door was not good enough for reducing sound from the hallway; Neither were the old windows.

Family of five, stayed one night in this hotel in August 2017. Nice, large & centrally located hotel. Friendly personal, comfortable & clean rooms. The breakfast was not so good, it seems meager for the rating of the hotel.
