This property is a definite Diamond in the Rough. We most looked forward to this villa during our 2 weeks in Bali. The good - The location is very good - near to ubud but remote enough for peace and quiet. There are a few local warungs nearby (walking distance) which were all fabulous. The house is very spacious and the staff were friendly and helpful. The bad - This house really needs maintenance and updating. Most of the outside decking is falling apart and will pinch your feet walking on it. The pool needs regrouted as it is not a waterfall pool since the water runs out between the tiles. The gazebo area is useless as it is in disrepair and offered no cushion, blankets or the like. We never used it (like we did at our previous villa) The kitchen looked as if it had not been cleand in a while (maybe we were the first rental of the season) but there were moldy coffee grounds in the coffemaker. Also, note there is not a microwave. Our bed in the master bedroom was 2 HARD twins pushed together and we only got a sheet on the bed and one tiny "blanket" that had patches and/or cigarette burns. This COULD be an awesome place, but if the owner wants it to be a villa rental the amenities (soap, shampoo, etc) and ambience need some serious upgrading.
