Oasis getaway in Tulum

Room was spacious and full of everything we needed. Resort is clothing optional and extremely relaxing. It was not crowded and many hours we had the pool to ourselves. The penthouse with the hot tub on the porch and pool on the roof made it possible for us to have private time as a couple. First time for us at a clothing optional resort but we are hooked now because we made some great new friends during our stay.

The property is beautiful and laid back

The only gripes are is there were no back up trash liners, toilet tissue, paper towels, towels, facecloths, hand towels, or beach towels for a four day stay without laundry on property. It was just different than what we are used to with other of my many other stays in properties like this.

Could've been better

The place overall looks just the pictures. Only problem we had was the A/C in the bedroom was working at first. We spoke with the manager and it took a day and half to fix. When it was fixed it really didn't do much to cool the room down. Our whole stay we slept in the living room. Our 1st night there I asked for extra towels( there were only 2 and 2 beach towels) I never received them. So for the 4 days we were there we had to keep using the same towels. The onsite restaurant was decent but the drinks weren't really strong. Nice employees though. Overall the place is nice but could us some updated furniture and some renovations.

Nice place

This condo is good if you are wanting to stay near town. It was much farther away from the beach than we thought. Need to take a taxi. It is only about a mile walk into the heart of town. The condo is nice but no water pressure in the shower, and the kitchen sink has almost no water coming out of it. It was not very well stocked, no dishwasher soap, you cannot drink the water so the owner has bottled water coming through the refrigerator, we ran out of water,had to ask for Kleenex and toilet paper. The pool is great and the staff for the bar and the restaurant are great as well. If you are looking to stay near town this condo isn’t bad, just needs to be better stocked.

An oasis in Tulum

We just spent 5 nights at this property and it was just as advertised. The unit was spacious and clean. The grounds and pool are amazing. So lush and beautiful. We used our hot tub every day. The restaurant on resort was delicious we ate almost every meal on resort. Nestor and Neddy took amazing care of us at the bar and restaurant. Intima is very small there were about 12-14 other people there on our trip. We never worried about a chair by the pool or waiting for anything. It was relaxing and the best place to spend some time and recharge. We took taxi’s to the beach twice during our stay, it was a very easy process. Playa Pariso is an amazing beach club that we truly enjoyed. The most beautiful beach I have ever seen. There is some construction going on next door to the resort and this unit is on that side. We began to hear construction noise and music early every morning. This is not anyone’s fault at the resort just life. If this is something that would irritate you than this may not be your place. It did not interfere with our stay at all! I highly recommend this resort and this unit. Hopefully we will be back again one day!

Excellent Stay - Highly Recommend

As I tend to be very verbose, the short version is. Excellent stay, great value, and we would strongly recommend to those considering Tulum and Intima in particular. Overall this was once again an excellent vacation and rental. This was our third trip to Tulum and the second time booking through what I shall refer to as the Hiram Group (as there are 3 primary individuals representing the owners of the units and managing the rentals.) I interacted with both Hiram and Billy – always professional and responsive. We had to split our vacation time across two units in the Intima complex as we decided to extend at the 11th hour – or first unit was booked immediately after us by the time we decided to extend. Moving was a breeze and well-coordinated. We utilized WhatsApp to coordinate our arrival, departure and all communications during our stay. Very easy to install on your phone (if you are not already using it) and use. It does use data, but texting through the app does not consume a great deal of data. Once we cleared customs and immigration and were in our transport heading to Tulum, we let Hiram know our anticipated arrival. He was there to take us to our unit before we had a chance to take a second sip of our drink at the bar within Intima. Both of our units were in excellent condition and clean upon arrival. Everything was as we expected. Even though we had a penthouse, we did not really utilize the rooftop mini-pool or the hot tub on our balcony. We preferred to be more social and use the large pool and hot tub. Nestor and Jorge took great care of us – drink and food wise. We typically ended the day by closing down the bar with a nightcap (or two or three.) We did not eat as much at the restaurant this time, but what food we did have was always very good. As in all things in life, there were a few hiccups along the way. Those that could be addressed were – Hiram and team were always responsive. Those that were at the mercy of the gods, we just took in stride. We very much enjoy our time at Intima. When travelling to Tulum, Intima is our go to location. Granted, it is not on the beach, but the pricing reflects this. The beach and beach road establishments are always an easy taxi ride away. We very much like being within walking distance of downtown Tulum – the food is always great and the pricing always shocks me with its reasonableness (I always end up over budgeting for food.) We never felt concerned for our safety.

We can't wait to come back!

How to sum up this experience... It was so much more than we ever anticipated! My wife and I had never been to Tulum; I had only been to Cancun once about 15 years ago. We're so glad this is where we ended up instead of one of the mega resorts further north. Hiram was communicative and helpful though we did have some issues with cell reception! When we arrived the room was still being cleaned so we got a drink at the bar where we met one of the best bartenders ever! Seriously, Jorge was one of our absolute highlights of the trip. Within 20 minutes the housekeeper came to get us and showed us how to get into the room. Due to the lack of phone reception it would be nice if the code to the key box would be shared with the guest before arrival, maybe after the final payment is made? Our first impressions of the room were amazing. Keep in mind, if handicap accessibility is on your priority list, this is a third floor walk up unit with another steep set of stairs to get to the rooftop. The view is beautiful, furniture is comfortable, and both the rooftop pool and balcony hot tub got daily use! We did notice stains on some of the linens/towels that didn't seem to get changed throughout the week but it didn't really affect the stay for us. Also, there was fresh water available from the refrigerator dispenser that was hooked up to jugs in one of the cabinets. This ran out for us mid-week and did not get replaced. We just went to the market and got bottled water but it was a really nice touch to have available in the room when we had it. The location was a little intimidating at first but after our first trip walking into downtown we were so glad to be where we were. Everything in Tulum from the beach to downtown is very convenient to get to from this location and, after that first impression wore off, we felt perfectly safe in this neighborhood. Honestly, we had never been to a place that was fully clothing optional and weren't sure exactly what to expect. Within an hour of getting to the room we were hooked! It truly is optional. We felt and heard no pressure from any of the guests or staff to do anything but what we were comfortable with. The environment was very open and supportive of people just doing what makes them happy as long as it doesn't infringe on the other guest's ability to do so as well. Overall this was one of the best vacations we've ever had and we can't wait to go back!

Horrible experience !!!

Upon our late arrival, due to our 6 hours flight delay, we were informed by the contact person, over the phone, that our unit is scheduled for a patio doors replacement (entire wall) for the following morning, i advised the property manager not to send anyone since we do not wish to be disturbed with any type of work during our stay, he told us he will speak to us on Monday. The following Monday afternoon around 2pm, we were shocked to see strangers working in our living room, the patio doors has been removed, debris over the entire living room, our personal stuff moved, the smell of chemicals/solvents in the entire unit, our vacation rental became a construction zone, we were invaded by strangers. I immediatly called the property manager telling him he had no right to send those workers, he's reply: "you agreed the work can be done on Monday, and those are the orders he received from the property owner". and if I have a problem,I should call the owner (in Germany). He told us that he can switch us to another unit, I asked him why wouldn't he give us the other unit in the first place? his reply was: " I waited for you and when I saw you are not arriving, I left". I asked him, why would he rent us a vacation unit knowing weeks in advance of the schadualed work? his reply was: " it must be completed by the end of the month". When trying to communicate with him he was extremely rude, calling me a liar, and told us he doesn't have the time, to speak with us. We had to pack all of our suitcases, all of our groceries from the fridge, we asked for help to take it to the alternative unit, while he was chatting by the pool with the bartender, it was 105 Fernheit that day, I am 58 years old, and my wife 54. Not in best of health, I wasn't feeling well, and my wife was in tears. The new unit, had a poorly working A/C later I climbed to look at it, it was completely plugged with dirt. I called the manager, showed him the problem, he told me it is cleaned every 2 months " I told him since we are in an unpaved dirt road, and next to a construction project, it should be serviced more frequently. When taking a shower, the shower didn't drain properly, it was ponding water, it took about 15-20 minutes for the water to drain, very poor water pressure in the shower head. window handle next to the toilet, broken, we couldn't operate it, part of the curtains in the living room were torn. The patio doors replacement project took them 3 days to complete !.

Paradise in Tulum City center

My boyfriend and I stayed at the property for 6 days and it was the best part of our trip to Tulum. The apartment is clean, spacious and modern. The private plunge pool on the roof was amazing. We had daily cleaning service included in the rental price which we didn't even know about. The resort itself is beautiful. It has a large salt water pool and pool beds are in the pool. Swim up bar was amazing as well. It's clothing optional resort and we did see some naked guests but they are just tanning by the pool and reading books. It is not disturbing in anyway. It was seriously my best rental property experience. I am definitely coming back to the same property for my next trip to Tulum.

A Tulum Treat Above the Treetops

A really spacious and stylish place in a unique, friendly and relaxing compound. Everything about our stay there was pleasant, the apartment, the people, the staff, everything exceeded our expectations. The place is kept immaculately clean, maintenance tended to the hot tub on our balcony and plunge pool on the roof impressively frequently, and it the whole apartment is stylishly appointed and sufficiently equipped with all the basics... even has ingenuous system of pumping water out of 5 gallon spring water bottles to feed the refrigerator line, supplying it to the ice maker as well as to the door for drinking. We met a lot of really friendly, interesting people, some guests like us, others longer staying residents, all were really great. This was a short, exploratory stay, but we will definitely be back! Would note, to first time visitors, Google Maps did locate this slightly wrong, initially directing us to the block beyond, resulting in us coming in from a back entrance that was pretty uneven and hard to spot, took us a day to realize there was a smoother, proper front entrance drive on the block preceding (though it also is unpaved) And like much of Tulum, there is a lot of building going on, though no such activity disturbed our peace, do expect that should we return in say a year, the surrounding area will already be quite different.

Great home base for a sexy honeymoon trip

The property is beautiful, the condo is spacious and beautiful in a very appropriate sparse beach style. AC worked great, the private hot tub and private plunge pool just can’t be beat. Hiram, the host contact was very helpful and it was great having the option of using the restaurant or bar on property if we didn’t want to go out or cook in the condo. Felt very safe and loved having so much freedom to do as we pleased. Everyone we met was very nice. We are already planning our next trip back.

Romance and Fun

I loved our trip to Tulum and our penthouse was exceptional. The staff at Intima were top notch. Billy and Chad were great, they provided us with everything we needed. Nestor was an awesome bartender and kept everyone happy. Daniella at the front desk provided us with great places to see, her suggestions were perfect. The cleaning staff were friendly and did an outstanding job. The few times we ate at the resort were also good but we felt the prices were considerable higher than in town which was just a short walk away. Our penthouse was on the side of the resort where construction work was being done on a new resort. At times the noise was a bit much from the workers. The worse part of the trip was the smoke from the jungle, which is constant, we could never get use to it. Over all we loved the laid back atmosphere, and were glad we did not book a large all inclusive resort near the beach. We met some very nice people from all over and had a real good time together. Thank you Intima for a memorable vacation.

We really enjoyed our stay in Gabriel's condo at the Intima Resort. The condo was very spacious and super comfortable, and having our own hot tub was awesome. It was great to have the opportunity to either eat down in the restaurant or make meals and snacks up in our kitchen. When we did go down to the pool and restaurant there was a fun group of people to chat with and everyone was friendly. We were a bit surprised upon arrival that we were not able to be immediately shown to our condo, and had to wait a while for the right person to do it. We were also surprised to find we were required to pay a damage deposit at that time. It would have helped to know about that ahead of time. But - we sorted all that out fairly quickly and were able to enjoy a very pleasant week. We would definitely come back.
