Days Inn Southern Hills/ORU2.0 out of 5.0

This Days Inn had to be built in the 70's and uses the original furniture since the grand opening. If we didn't check in so late we would have tried to find somewhere else. We were almost scared to sleep on the beds so I asked for more sheets and I walked to the laundry myself to see where they were coming from. I woke up before the roosters and made my family leave with no shower. It's safe to say that I felt cleaner not getting into their tub. The review I read before I went there said live like the locals, well I feel sorry for the people of Tulsa if any of you have to live like that.
I booked through a third-party website that made it seem a lot nicer than it actually was. when I arrived, my room was tiny and smelled like mold, the vending machine was out of water the entire time I was there, and the toilet clogged the first time I peed in it.
Room was dirty. Carpet tire up, breakfast was poor by 7am nothing left and they don't replace. They only have bread the juice taste nasty. They charge me twice for the room which my son already pay for. And they only give you two towel and two wash cloth, very poor service. I ask for two more towel and I have to give them the dirty ones first.
For the price, I honestly thought the hotel would be less than par. But it was actually pretty nice. I stayed at a days inn in Oklahoma a couple days before and they were pretty comparable. The room was clean and breakfast was good. Would definitely stay again. Can't really beat the price.
The lady at the front desk when we checked in did not appear to know how to work the computer. There was a strange odor in the hallways.
They are not in comfort business. they have way too SMALL of rooms, SMALL hard bed, SMALL cramped bathroom, SHOWER leaked and dripped all night, SINK had little to no pressure and the sink stopper didn't work properly, Coffee was just horrible, Breakfast was terrible too and as far as their excuses for not maintaining their hotel, it appeared to me as though no one in the place is doing anything to make it better place to stay, No one was staying there and the clerk didn't even offer an upgrade to a larger more comfortable room for the wife and I on our 10 year anniversary, my guess is they don't have any good rooms to offer people. I would not recommended Days Inn ORU if you want to be comfortable. The attached Bar was the only thing we liked about the entire place and it had nothing to do with the Days Inn Hotel. THIS DAYS INN HOTEL is definitely not the place I REMEMBER FROM THE PAST !
Outside of the motel beautiful and refurbished. Definitely off the beaten path. Jerry at the desk was friendly and efficient. Check in was quick. Rooms a little dated, but clean and well appointed. Breakfast area clean and good choices for a quick breakfast.
The check-in process and night attendant were pleasant. My only complaints were the bathtub did not appear to be clean. There was hair in it & a "dirty" look as if it had only been rinsed vs cleaned afted the prior occupant. Also, the breakfast time could be a little longer. We awoke at 9:45 only to find breakfast had ended at 9:30. I don't know of many people who get up that early when on a leisure travel
Very old needs some room updates. Not worth what we payed. I feel we didn't get the room I expected at check in. Had to pay more from what my conformation was. Didn't ever receive a receipt.
The hotel lobby was renovated and clean but that's were it stopped! The rooms were old and dirty. The beds were comfortable but that is about all it had going for it. We stayed in a double with the kitchenette. It was dirty and foil lined the burners. The curtain would not close completely. The t.v. is old and outdated. It looked as though the room had not been dusted or vacuumed in some time. Outdated is okay but dirty is not! We were at the end of the hotel and ewe had to park and walk a good distance only to find there was a door right outside our room that we couldn't use. So to go back out to our vehicle at night I had to walk by the outdoor seating of the hotel bar which I'm pretty positive I had some indecent offers thrown my way. Our end of the hotel was quiet but at check in we were told we would be placed away from the bar that had "loud pumping music til 2a.m." Spend the extra money to find some place, cleaner, newer and safer!
