Super 8 Tucson Downtown Convention Center

This Super 8 was the Tucson Downtown Convention Center which is also called Super 8 Starr Pass Tucson Arizona. We went here after having two very positive experiences in Super 8s. This experience wasn't as good. The room needed some updates. The bed sort of sagged in the middle. The breakfast wasn't as good as the past two mornings. Everything just seemed a bit dated but it was acceptable. There was nothing horrible about our stay here, but nothing that will make us want to return.

We had a great time. The front hotel clerk was amazing. He had the best customer service. And enjoyed him at the front desk.

This was my final try for a hotel in Tucson I thought I needed to drive to Phoenix to find a clean safe room. I had looked at 4 other hotels in the area they were dirty and I didn't feel comfortable with my vehicle staying in their parking lot overnight. Finally I stopped in super 8 and was pleased to find a clean safe place to stay.

First off, Sabrina at the front desk was a delight to interact with. She might be the only positive thing in my stay. Friendly, up beat and very knowledgeable. We were in room 227. The TV was good. The microwave and mini-fridge and A/C & heater were fine also. The bed was comfy, although the blanket was thin and had a cigarette hole burned in it. We didn't use the pool, which is the size of about 3 king beds, nor the hot tub which would be couples only, intimate. Breakfast consists of coffee, tea, juices, cereal (two kinds), toast (peanut butter spread Mmmmmm) waffles, oatmeal& hot chocolate. The room itself was sub-par in a few ways. As I mentioned the bed was comfy but the desk was severely chipped with the desk chair very wobbly. The lamp shade needed replacement, outlets had paint on them. But wait, the outlets had USB charging ports, so +1 for that! The door had many dents on both sides and looked like it had been kicked in from the outside. The peep-hole was unusable. The sink & toilet were normal. The tub had a combined hot/cold turning knob that we never figured out. You could turn it about eight turns and somehow get water that wasn't too hot or too cold. maybe. A bit of mold at the top of the tub enclosure added to the charm. The room, #227 is on the back side, so it was quiet. The front of the motel has a 4 lane road and Interstate highway right next to it. The overall feeling of the room was just that you didn't want to stay there and almost ruined out vacation. We would rate this as a two star at best. Maybe other rooms are better.

I expected more from Super 8! The room was not clean, and there were hardly any wall plugs that worked! The sitting chair was dirty I had to flip over the cushion. The refrigerator didn't work. the bathroom was old (tile, grout ). The room was bad enough.. but the service I got was the worst! I had two reservations. One was a Go Fast Rewards booked by Wyndham Rewards. The second night stay was a regular stay so I had a two night stay, two separate reservations for the same room. The gentleman that checked me in that first evening was competent enough and checked me in for both nights or so I thought! On the morning of the second day I get a knock on my door and when I didn't open right away, she proceeded to enter but I had the bolt lock applied. She tells me that I have to check in and give my info again!! Then their computer is down and they have to call the help desk. I ask why didn't you just call the room? The day clerk says the guests don't answer. I said I would have answered. For the second night I had to pay cash I wrote down the amount. Now my debit was charged for the first night. I go back to my room to get my car keys to go to an ATM machine and the desk clerk comes to my room again to give me a paper with the cash amount! that was an insult!! Well needless to say the only good thing that resulted from this stay is that I am now a GOLD member!! But I WON'T be back to this hotel!

I was pleasantly surprised by the amenities the room offered. Also, its the first motel I've ever stayed at that had plenty of USB outlets. The only negatives were pillows that were less than supportive and a shower head that was little more than a trickle. Overall, however, I would highly recommend this motel. Also, housekeeping dept was outstanding.

I tried to book in here for two nights in February but when I called the fellow that answered told me they didn't have any rooms with two beds in them. I think he was east Indian by his accent. My daughter was staying here so I knew they had them. I finally hung up and called Funny how they could book me in here for the two nights but calling the hotel direct the front desk clerk couldn't. Once there we had to keep asking for coffee each morning. Their breakfast is terrible. The worst was the filthy carpets. We showered, walked across the carpet to the bed and our feet were gross. We had to wash our feet again and put on socks or slippers to keep our feet clean. This place really needs to be brought up to Super 8 standards! We were to be in a back side top floor. The clerk tried to put us in a bottom front room. We finally got a top floor front room but not back side. Super 8 needs to do an undercover boss on this place. They need to go spend a night and check it out.

We checked out and they still charged us for our 4 day stay will not refund our money!!! Not a safe place & the smoke was bad!!! We booked thru PRICELINE never again!!! Being trying for two months to get our money back & all they did was pass the buck!!!HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!

Over all it was pleasant , friendly, shows signs of recently being up dated, I would recommend it!

i was switched rooms 3 times due to first the TV than the air conditioning unit not working then just the room not feeling safe
