NEW! Waterfront Retreat on West Bay, Traverse City

Sitting directly on West Grand Traverse Bay, just off the iconic M-22 scenic route, this beautifully remodeled home puts you minutes from downtown Traverse City and Suttons Bay. 100 feet of private bay frontage, a private hot tub, and a one-person sauna in the primary suite set the tone for a restorative Up North escape.

The home sleeps up to 6 across 3 bedrooms and a bunk area, with a gas fireplace, sunroom, and an open-concept lower level with air hockey and shuffleboard. Outside: a private beach, dock access, complimentary kayak and paddleboards, a fire table, and a wood-burning fire pit.

Please note before booking: the home is mid-remodel, with landscaping planned for phase two. Beach access is through the house only, via a ladder from the seawall, and the outdoor side stairs aren't yet lit or complete. Floating stairs inside aren't suited to small children or guests with mobility concerns, and the home is not child-proofed.

Downtown Traverse City is about 5 minutes away, with Suttons Bay, Northport, and Leelanau State Park around 15 minutes further, and easy day trips to Sleeping Bear Dunes and beyond.

We had a fantastic stay! This home feels even more spacious and serene in-person. This was a great place to host a ladies' weekend on the lake. The hosts are very responsive and the amenities perfect for a lakeside getaway. Highly recommend this venue.

Pulling into the house the grass/weeds all overgrown, looked like an abandoned home. Access code did not work. No window treatments in the master bedroom that overlooks the family room kitchen area. Cannot access water they need to install the proper stairs to do so. Dock is old and not safe. Could not use shuffleboard table not level, when you call for assistance you are speaking to an out of the country call center. I do not like writing this however I think others should be aware.

The home itself is very nice, but unfortunately the outside area and overall maintenance were disappointing, especially for the price.Inside, the home was fresh, updated and clean. The beds were comfortable, although the bunk beds are very small and I would not recommend them for larger teenagers or adults. The fireplaces did not work, there were stains on the couch, and some walls were being patched. These things didn’t really affect our stay, but we documented them so we wouldn’t be held responsible. It is very homey inside. The biggest issues were outside. The patio door was broken and wouldn’t open or close, so we had to walk around the house and across the gravel every time we wanted to use the outdoor area. The property was also very overgrown with weeds and looked quite different from the photos. Weeds taller then myself and I am 5'5, We had to pull weeds to make a path. The hot tub was extremely dirty when we arrived. They responded quickly and tried to fix it, which we appreciated, but it remained unusable for our entire stay. The outdoor area also did not appear to have been cleaned before our arrival. There were webs, dirty windows, leftover food, no propane, and the garbage cans were completely overflowing, nowhere to put our trash. I do understand a lake house but a quick clean up! The home has a beautiful view and a lot of potential, but for the price, we expected a much higher level of maintenance and service. Unfortunately, we would not stay here again.
