We had clean room thanks to daily maid service and aircondition works fine. Tv is a bit small but we didnt use it much. Internet in room works fine. In short distance there are many shops and restaurants. Budged hotel with fair price:)
Helpful friendly staff. Clean rooms. Central location. The downside? Hotel is on one of the city's busiest streets, so rooms at front exposed to constant all-night traffic noise. After the first sleepless night,I reported the issue and was given a smaller room at the back. No balcony, not that it would have been usable so close to neighbours' windows. No street noise, but almost constant noise from ventilation system, even when room's air-con was switched off. Just the way the place was built. Settling in for night in this 2nd room, I decided to watch TV, which wasn't possible due to defunct batteries in remote control (when I reported this in morning, staff replaced them, but they should have been checked before). Hotel has no communal lounge or other seating area apart from the rather cramped breakfast room, which was only open at breakfast time. Breakfast buffet had basic range, not all of it fresh (soft chewy cornflakes!). Coffee, though only available at breakfast, is fine!
It is a hotel that sums up many qualities sought by new tourists, namely: the location - it is located close to the city center; the small rooms are clean and the beds are very comfortable, it's worth the three stars :)); the price - is very ok. The price / quality ratio is very good. I strongly recommend it.
I stayed at Hotel Aegeon for 5 nights in February 2019. I reached Thessaloniki at 6am by train from Athens. It was freezing cold then. I took me about about 30 minutes to walk to the hotel with my heavy suitcase then. It is easily recognisable by the big neon lights(look at my picture and remember it and look out for it!). Location: Along Egnatia Street. Great location. Walking distance to everywhere. The bus-stop for the airport bus is just opposite the hotel. Friendly front staff from the gentleman that checked me in early(I dont remember his name!) to Mr Kouripiolis whom I had a good heart to heart conversation early in the morning just before checking out. Breakfast: Good breakfast! Coffee, assorted tea bags, milk, bread, fruits(but pick carefully as some fruits look badly bruised), hard boiled eggs, cereal, greek yogurt, vegetable.....decent breakfast. Very decent. Would I stay here again, I would. But I doubt I will be visiting Greece anytime in the next 20 years.
The only thing I found uncomfortable was the pillow...too hard... A little noisy if you open the windows, but I was on the first floor. All in all, value for money..... Close to the center of Thessaloniki...
the room was at the 4th floor of the Hotel, having a great view of the most central road in Salonica, Egnatia. Near the hotel is the great Flea market, and all the other open or closed markets. The rooms are very clean and the people working there very polite. Having any trouble, all of them are willingness for resolving them The breakfast is rich and delicious. I have the advantage of being kept my bicycle in a room just for big things Reaching the sea is just 10 minutes on foot. You can avoid moving the car living there, as the trouble of parking cars in Salonica is unbelievable and reaching everything is so close
Some rooms are very small. Clean room with comfortable bed, very convenient location, in the city centre and the bus stop is right in front of the hotel. Helpful staff. Value for money. Would recommend it.
I visit this hotel for a night the guy in the reseption was very friendly. The exterior of the building didnt caught my eye at the first place, but the interior and the decoration was pretty nice and modern. When it comes to my room, despite being small it was clean and cosy, especially the bed . The bathroom needs renovation, really small and kind of old.
The hotel is good and in a central area, rooms are not very big, but clean and comfortable. The bathroom, sink and toilet are separated, which is very convenient. There's no luxury, but its enough for a good shower and resting well. We arrived by train very early and they left us check in earlier as our room was ready. Staff was nice and helped us with tips about where to eat. The price is fair and we had breakfast included! :-) The only negative point is the noise of the street, as it's a busy avenue and the traffic starts early.
The hotel was a couple of a hundred meters from the Central Train Station, which was perfect for us, as we arrived by train. However, it is easy to miss and pass it by. The hotelroom itself was nice, and provided with three separate beds. Perfect for us as I travelled with two other friends. The bathroom had a transparent door that squeezed itself into place, - and in so doing - , provided a bit of privacy. But not too much(!). Clearly a case of specific design choice. Also the amount of outlets (one was loose) was limited, so it's not possible to charge 3 phones simultaneously without removing the TV and using the one in the bathroom. And impossible to charge the phone at your bedside. The breakfast was very basic though, don't expect much. That might be the only downside though. The room was clean, and the staff very nice, and even provided us with a very nice take-away breakfast as we were to leave early,- before breakfast opened up.
