Lovely hotel with excellent amenities. Staff very helpful and courteous. Very varied breakfast and excellent quality. Restaurant menu could be a little more varied but there is a courtesy bus to town where the restaurants are excellent. Not many places to eat around the hotel . Beds were very comfortable. I need one of these at home. Nice hot powerful shower. All in all a good stay!
Great hotel, friendly staff. Excellent breakfast. The surrounding area is to me a bit of concern. It seems to be in what appears to be a seaport/dock area. The rooms are well designed and quiet. The rooftop is such an amazing sight, entering the lobby and looking up at the pool area is breathtaking.
A nice hotel in a bad place, located in an abandoned industrial area. The distance to the center on foot is about 30 minutes, there is a free bus that runs every hour. The rooms are not very large but modern, with large and comfortable bathrooms. Beds are comfortable, but there were only very soft and very hard pillows. The service was good. I particularly like to mention the Avenue 48 restaurant - we have diner and breakfast there, the food was excellent and the breakfast is extremely rich.
Great location! Just 5 minutes away from Aristotelous square, by the complimentary shuttle bus transfer which runs every hour from morning till 23:00! Do not miss to have a lunch in Avenue 48 restaurant or a dinner at Roof top! Congratualtions to the Executive Chef and his team!
Stayed here for one night. It’s away from the main city centre but they have a courtesy bus that can run you in every hour. Staff friendly and helpful. Parking is fairly straightforward. Room was great with balcony and view of the hotel courtyard and the sea. Breakfast was excellent with various choices including local, traditional to usual pastries... Only slight compliant was that the indoor pool doesn’t open until 10am on a Sunday.
This is a very modern, sleek 5-star hotel with 5-star facilities. It truly looks the part - all black, gold and clean lines. Quirky modern art installations or smaller bits and pieces add to the modern and quirky atmosphere. Despite its many many rooms, there was never a feeling of lots of people around. Lots of space, both inside and outside, plenty of seating areas meant you could have privacy or intimacy in all locations. There were no conferences or big events while we stayed, for 5 nights over Easter weekend (our Easter, the Greek Orthodox one was the following weekend), so can not say if it would be different with a big cohort of attendees. There were at least two visiting parties - one school children, one Japanese - while we were there, but we hardly noticed them. Food: - Breakfast, which was included, was good - the bread, cake and pastry section had more choice than any we have ever seen in any hotel we have ever stayed in. There were hot choices and cold cuts, cereals, fruits and yoghurts and so on. - The Asian/fusion restaurant had a very good choice of starters and mains - and you could also chose from the normal restaurant's menu. We ate Asian one night and meditteranean the other in the fusion dining room. - We also ate in the Long bar - beware the size of their "snacks" - we ordered the "mini burgers" as a starter between us before a pasta dish each. The mini burgers came with a full portion of fries and a salad - by the time we had worked through that, it was a struggle to finish the pasta dishes, which were also very generously sized. Room: We were near the lift (there are two sets of lifts in the two parts of the hotel - it is a long and thin building) on the third floor. Disappointingly our view was onto an empty lot and part of the hotel car park. The Roof garden was inaccessible, even to go and see, until May. The website does state that the rooftop swimming pool is not open until May, but we did think we would be able to view the scenery. The lift voice does apologise though! Our room was fine - nothing special, which was a disappointment as I had booked through their own website and been promised "room upgrade if available" for doing just that. TV, as usual had only news channels available in English as a matter of course, though we did find the odd programme, generally American, that had Greek subtitles with the original sound in English. The Indoor pool/spa area: The pool is supposed to be a hydrotherapy pool, but less than half the jets worked. The big overhanging jet was very noisy - ok so they are - but the spa receptionist came and switched it off after a few minutes. The jacuzzi was OK, although there was no rail to hold onto when getting in an out - safety nightmare. Only 4 beds in the area, but it wasn't really a relaxing atmosphere. In my opinion, this needs a re-design and an update. Location: This is where the hotel loses a star for me - on paper it promises much, looking as though it is just one end of the harbour with The White Tower just along the way. However, it is actually in what is a pretty run-down industrial end of town - many boarded up buildings and vacant lots in its immediate vicinity, with dockyards on the other side of the road. You cannot see the sea from the hotel (perhaps from the roof?). You cannot get to the sea from the hotel. Walking to the Mall, couple of hundred yards behind the hotel, entails walking on roads with no pavements, over unmanned level crossings (may be defunct), past derelict and abandoned train stock and buildings. All of a sudden is this modern shopping mall, with designer outlets and a food court - very bizarre. The saving grace for this hotel is - the staff - lovely and helpful; and the shuttle bus that whisks you down to the centre of the city and picks you up - it ran from 8 or 9a.m. until 10 or 11p.m.
Modern hotel. We arrived around 10 am and checked in immediately. A welcome drink was a bonus. The staff is very helpful and professional. But the position is not suitable for visiting down town by a walk. A bit remote nearby harbor area. Although there is a shuttle to the downtown. A small spa center and a steam room which serves as a sauna. Breakfast lets a lot to be desired for a five star hotel. Especially omelette preparing. There are many hotels close to the city center that can be a better alternative.
We spent two nights at the Met hotel. The facilities are clean the room is tidy and the staff are kind and helpful. The hotel is very professional and nicely decorated. Will definitely stay here again.
Very good organized hotel with excellent services and staff. Rooms are nice, breakfast is excellent, public areas are very pleasant. The spa is a jewel with a lovely small indoor pool and perfect choices for treatment from marvelous staff. Rooftop pool and lounge with a superb view. The only drawback is the distance from the center.
Satisfactory hotel, .. in a wrong place! Large hotel specializing in conferences and events. Very good service even in difficult situations of time and space pressure has the possibility to find alternatives. The level of food from satisfactory to very good. Great service in the parking area. Toilet cleaners even in use by a very large number of people.
