Quite big and tasty breakfast. Ugly, dirty and old rooms. Water in pool very cold. The road to the beach very long and steep. Receptionist know only Spanish. Generally trip was very good but on the next time I will chose another hotel.
Staff pleasant and helpful; room clean. Breakfast fine. room on top floor hot and no fan. Room needed a refurbishment - toilet door did not close or lock properly. No soap provided -just shower gel. Nice friendly bar round the corner- locals not touristy. As other reviewers mentioned it is a long uphill walk from centre of Puerto -we got fitter I' m sure.
What can I say? We went to this hotel for our wedding anniversary and it was appalling! First of all the transfer couldn't take us to the hotel so we had to drag our suitcase up a hill to get to it. And was met by a very unhelpful woman. We were given the keys to our room, 608 which I can only describe as a squatters bedsit! It was so small we could hardly move in it. The wardrobe was glued to the window. It was dirty, tacky scabby and it had no electricity and only one socket to charge things. My husband asked to change rooms but was told none was available. We went out because we couldn't hack being in there! We came back and this time someone else was on the counter. My very enraged husband demanded another room and refused to stay in the room, and was told we couldn't change rooms till the next morning. Again my husband demanded a room change and asked to speak to the manager. The man phoned him and we got upgraded to room 601 which was originally suppose to be our room. ( double room with balcony and Terrence) so again we were lied to! The room was better but the fridge door was broke so had to use a table to keep it shut! It was a half hour walk to the sea and another 10 minutes walk to the centre. It's at the top of a very steep hill, so we got a taxi every time we went back to the hotel. Not our idea of a relaxing holiday! Plus the joys of being kepted awake every night by baking dog's! Do yourself a favour, and spend another £100 and stay in a decent Hotel!
Stayed here for 10 days and really enjoyed it. The room was serviced every day and cleaners did a good job. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast and evening meals were also good, plenty of food to choose from. I expected less for the price we paid but now I'm glad we stayed here.
Stayed one night spent much of it killing cockroaches. Room in state of disrepair, tiles falling of in shower holes in wall. Black mould in bathroom. Cooked breakfast was cold. Booked elsewhere a slightly higher price I got a 4 star hotel all inclusive. The staff were nice here but it didn't make up for the accommodation. Way out of the main drag, which isn't all bad but you have to climb a very steep hill to get back.
Got what we expected from the rooms, small and serviceable as a base of operations, and to be fair kept really clean. Food is a disaster, no information, and as a professional cook, not very safe/edible looking. Hotel is a long steep walk from town (30 mins down, 45 back), and there's very little around the hotel, ten minutes to the closest friendly bar.
I wanted to spend a day with my partner in Puerto de La Cruz and unfortunately we chose this hotel to stay. Do not think that this is a modest but clean place. Because it isn't. Have you ever been to a place where you do not feel like putting your staff on any surface, neither sit down because it feels like dirty? We had a roof room without air conditioning, the heat was unbearable, as we opened the balcony room we heard the partying hotel guests at 13.00pm and if we closed it we heard our neighbour snoring. Thin walls, old furniture, and uncomfortable beds, dirty towels, broken shower plate. The tiny pool was full of hair and the receptionist was nothing but friendly. An experience that better to forget it quickly.
Buffet breakfast and dinner was worth the price , the staff were excellent and very helpful. The pool was well maintained. You need to get there for parking. The hotel rooms needed refreshing to make them more homely. We had a wonderful time .
Well I have been here 4 days and 4 to go, before arriving I was nervous as traveling alone and the reviews I had read. I arrived after 2 hour coach journey from the airport nice an early, got dropped at the cafe next to hotel, coach driver pointed where to go and I made my way. As previous reviewers said you get dropped at the side so had to find the door, you buzz to get in then I had to find the reception, the side door leads to the pool area so I asked the life guard we're to go and made my way to the lift to get to the 1st floor and for my key from reception. My first thoughts at my room was where is the balcony?? I thought every room had one, then I tried the tv so I had something in on the back round as I unpacked. Tv didn't work, looked at the shower which was tiny, I am pregnant so it is a hassle to get in and wash. I went to reception and explained and asked for another room because of the tv, shower and also the hot tap did not run water. He explained this was not possible so that I was not happy about however he did get someone to fix the tv and the tap, ended up the changed the tv. Anyway that is the only bad point. The hotel itself I felt was clean and tidy, the fish tank I read about looked clean to me, a little bare just one bit of fake sea weed for the fish but clean anyway. The pool area is clean and the life guard is helpful. All the staff have been really nice actually and the restaurant staff always say hello and get any drinks people want. One thing that is missing is music at the pool and entertainment at nite. The food at the hotel is basic but so is the price so nothing you can moan about. It fills you up and keeps you going.all you need on holiday really. The bed was made everyday so far. Puerto de la Cruz seems to be a quite place all in, if you want the beach it is a walk down hill, a nice walk and give you a chance to see what is about you. I got a taxi back every time as there was no way I was walking up that hill lol it is steep and takes about 15 mins depending on your speed, not a place if you don't want to get taxi or can't walk far. The beach is okay and you don't get hassled too much, the food is cheap from the restaurant at the beach. This place is quite cloudy also, still get a tan or burn but doesn't seem to get sunny until 12 or so. This has been the case with me anyway. I will update if anything else need said. I have went on a bit but hope it helps :)
Be careful booking this hotel and check everything before your stay there. Photos don't match the actual rooms state. Rooms are very small, they seem to not be cleaned carefully (don't think if they are cleaned during your stay at all). Hotel doesn't provide you even a soap. Beds are horrible and short, they aren't comfortable at all. Internet is free of charge just for 30 min a day, and it doesn't work:) So prepare to pay 6 euro a day if you want to be connected. A safe is also extra charged. Don't rely on the hotel stuff to decide problems you can face during your stay. They don't care whether it's noisy in your room because of other guests, whether you need information about the town, whether you need another type of accommodation than they booked you in and so on. They just ignore your questions.
