This was my first time staying at the BE-Live La Nina which is situated in Puerto Colon - a 20 min walk away from Veronicas. The hotel entrance is in the middle of a shopping area with shops either side, a ATM at the front door, supermarket a few shops down and some bars across the road. The street has had a "makeover" making everything step free although traffic is still going past the front one way, the makeover makes things look better on the eye. The hotel is of a terracotta colour and the reception is on the 4th floor. A spiral staircase which gives you the impression of a grand entrance sweeps down to the lower level where you'll find the restaurant (which has a themed buffet menu each night) and the sole internal bar of the hotel. The pool can also be accessed from this level which consists of a small kiddie splash pool and two other pools, one which is heated in the winter. Plenty of sunbeds are available despite easter being a peak period and hardly anyone reserved. There are also additional sunbed pads available free of charge. Pool towels are available from the on site spa (which provides a free visit in the first 2 days if you book direct) for a €10 deposit. Daytime entertainment activities are provided although not intrusive for those wanting a quiet holiday. The bar area is also where the evening entertainment is located and consists of the usual type of acts seen at comparable hotels, average although the large sweeping staircase blocks the view of the stage for those seated at the bar or towards the rear of the hall. All inclusive is branded drinks (Smirnoff/absolut, gordons/larios, Bacardi and a couple of whiskies, San Miguel lager, wine & cava on tap. Other brands are available for a small additional price charged to your room of payable in cash. Rooms are of a good size and have recently been refurbished although I would note that the wooden door in my room was rotting due to dampness where the shower screen dripped on to the floor. beds were comfortable with 2 singles, a chaise long and a pouffe. Safe is provided with a deposit of €11 and charged for the week @ €18. Guests staying for a week or more have at least one visit to the a la carte restaurant, I can recommend the steak. A VIP area with free bar and roof terrace is available at a supplement. The hotel is in a good central location, about 25 mins by cab from the airport and about 5 mins from the beach. Sea views are available from some rooms. The hotel is much the same as other hotels in the area although from experience I can truly say that staff are some of the friendliest I have encountered all greeting you with a cheery hello and remembering your favourite tipple.
This hotel never disappoints , having stayed many times over the past 7 years I have seen many changes. The changes this time excelled all others. The hotel has a bright modern theme , new buffet area at the poolside bar ,a la carte restaurant, A highlight of my holiday was the evening in the a la carte restaurant where the food and service were excellant. As usual all the staff were amazing, very welcoming and helpful ,nothing too much trouble. For me personally I cannot fault this hotel , location ,staff, varied food ,and cleanliness is all I need.
Picked this hotel originally as a few miles from siam park, €5 in a taxi. Ended up having a few more chill days by the pool at the hotel as he kids made friends there straight away, great friendly staff and the beach is 2 min walk. Beat expectations by a long way. Would definitely revisit la nina.
Having only booked this hotel 3 days before arriving, a very good week we had. The moment we arrived, we found the reception staff very friendly and helpful, the best In any hotel stays we have had.we had had a room on 6th floor looking over the pool and a slight sea view. Spacious, very clean, a great night's sleep on a very comfy bed. The buffet restaurant good, breakfast was excellent, good choices, Jose on the eggs station was so efficient. The staff work so hard and all very friendly. Hot food on a night was a bit hit and miss, the ala carte 2 nights was excellent. The drinks seemed nicer in there too. Only negative the drinks in the bar seemed weak, eg the tonic overtook the gin, cocktails didn't taste very alcoholic. Evening entertainment was very good especially the tenors... Plenty of places to go outside the hotel for evening entertainment also. Be alive la nina is so ideally located to shops, bars, etc and to walk further afield to the next towns. We spent a relaxing week around the pools even taking a swim in the outside pool. I took part in pilates, stretching with the lovely Christian. The entertainment staff are so good and hardworking all day. Good also in keeping children entertained. Pool bar very good, serving nice snacks, loved the fruit pots. It's our first time staying in tenereife we would definitely be back.
We booked a sea view room and before we left home e-mailed the hotel to ask for a high floor. We ended up with a nice room on the 7th floor with a very large balcony, the size of a terrace with a table and a couple of sun beds. The fridge in the room was stocked with a couple of cans of Beer, coke and lemonade plus a couple of bottles of water. All free of charge. If you want them to restock it then you have to pay. But we just used the fridge for milk and water. You can hire a kettle but we took our own travel one with us. The fridge in the room did stop working but was replaced immediately as soon as I reported it. We paid for the safe €18 per week, which we do in nearly every hotel as it’s a condition of our travel insurance. We also paid the €20 deposit for 2 towels, which was refunded at the end of the holiday. The room was cleaned every day to a high standard, but even though the door was locked the maids still managed to walk into the room twice while we were still in bed. This was reasonable early for us on holiday, around 9am. There was never any problem getting a sun bed in the morning. In fact there was never a problem getting a table at meal times or at the pool bar at lunchtime. The food was one of the best things about La Nina. We thought it was some of the best we have had in Tenerife and we have been coming here a long time. The BBQ evening was good, all the meat was cooked on the grill in the restaurant, not on an actual BBQ. I prefer it that way as often BBQed meat is charred on the outside and undercooked in the middle. The evening entertainment was a bit hit and miss. One evening the only entertainment was Bingo! Other acts were good like the 3 Tenor’s. Up sides of the hotel was the food, the very relaxed atmosphere, location, and the friendliness of the staff. The down sides were trying to find a toilet, and then find a clean toilet. Plus 5 times a week there is a fashion show. I don’t mind the girls showing their clothes, but they turn the music up to max volume and for half an hour you can hardly think its so loud. Conversation is impossible. Overall because of the location and the great food we will rebook for next year if we can find a good deal.
Overall a reasonable hotel but over priced. Not enough choice of facilities. Food was reasonable although a times some options were not available at breakfast times.Helpful staff. You need to take your own beach towels which is disappointing.
Chose this hotel for my budget and wasn't disappointed . Visited with my 26 yr old daughter just to relax and that's exactly what we did the staff hardworking and always smiling food was lovely and I'm very fussy pool was cold but refreshing the only negative for me is we sat up the end where the pool was for swimming only but kept finding kids in there with water pistols not so good when your grabbing 40 winks but all in all lovely holiday would love to go back
This was our first visit to Tenerife and had read a lot about the islands excellent weather, good hotels and exciting night life and it didn’t disappoint. This hotel was well positioned in the resort of Costa Adeje, although if anybody has walking difficulties they might struggle to reach the beach especially as the public escalators and lifts were not working. However, boutique shops, supermarket, pubs, restaurants and entertainment are right outside and on the flat area. We booked the all inclusive package with Jet2 and were not disappointed, the quality and range of food available was excellent and covered all tastes and dietary requirements and was in abundance and hot at any time. Bar service was excellent with branded spirits and Cava served by the glass. We occupied room 819 which had good views, it contained a very large bed and was cleaned every day with the usual facilities including a safe (charged). The pool area was clean and included a heated pool, plenty of seats and sun beds. The entertainment was of a very good standard (especially Charlie Circus, a must see), however, all acts finished at 10.45 with no other entertainment, although this was a good opportunity to visit Amanda’s bar, Temple bar, Irish bar, and Harley’s across the way, We can recommend the hotels a la carte and take time to visit the Indian restaurant Bombay Babu behind the hotel.
We stayed at the Be Live La Nina Experience on an all-inclusive basis, Costa Adeje, Tenerife in March 2018 for one week – here is a review of our stay. LOCATION The hotel is only a short 15/20 minutes coach trip from the airport (possibly quicker by car). We did have quite a bit of a shock when we reached the hotel as we thought we had been dropped off by the front of a shopping arcade (which we had). It was only when I saw the relatively small ‘Be Live La Nina Experience’ sign on the wall that I realised it was our hotel, and the coach driver confirmed this. ARRIVAL/CHECK-IN Having walked up the steps to the shops, we entered the lobby doors of the hotel. It was SO strange, as the hotel just sort of opened up once we had gone through. The first sight was a grand spiral staircase and then we quickly located the reception desk to the right. Check-in went so smoothly. We were allocated room 610 and the receptionist was incredibly helpful, advising us about room location, meal times, how the all-inclusive plan worked, wi-fi connection, pool towels, room safe, spa and courtesy bus. She also explained that during our stay we could book into the al-a-carte restaurant twice, so we booked for the Tuesday evening (we arrived on the Saturday). ROOM We located the room (610) relatively easily and dropped off our cases. First impressions were that the room was very spacious, with plenty of room for our cases and to move around. There were twin-beds (side by side), a dressing table, tv, slatted wardrobe unit with plenty of hanging space, shelves and a few drawers. In addition there were two bedside shelves and lamps, a minibar (chargeable) and sofa. Sliding doors led onto a spacious patio which two chairs and a table and there was an extendable drying unit. The en-suite bathroom was located just to the right as you entered the room. This was relatively spacious, with a bath, shower, sink, large mirror, toilet and bidet. Shower gel/shampoo, shoe shine, tissues, soap and shower cap were provided. When we went out onto the balcony, we were impressed to find that we had a sea view (but we hadn’t paid extra for this – the beach was probably about 100m away), so that was a bonus. We could hear quite loud music which was coming from a daytime disco (Faro) on the beachfront so that was an initial concern, but it turned out that this was nothing to worry about (see comment later re: sleep quality). RESTAURANTS/BARS There was one main restaurant (buffet style) and one al-a-carte restaurant. We were incredibly disappointed with our evening meal during the first evening…..yes were tired, as we had been tired all day but we didn’t eat a single thing which was even remotely hot. Waiting staff bring drinks: wine, beer, water etc but there is also a wine menu if you want to pay extra. As the week went on, it seemed that hot food was something of a rare occurrence (unless you had the soup). There wasn’t that much choice and even the speciality evenings ie Mexican, Curry etc were disappointing, with the choice which was available. Two rather bewildering soups (which we didn’t choose) were ‘Egg’ and ‘Algae’. We ate in the al-a carte restaurant twice. The first time we thought the food was lovely (soup, pork, steak, tiramisu (this was amazing) although as the doors are open it was quite chilly (it was March). Everything is served at your table and you are automatically served cava, wine and water. The second time we were quite cold for the duration – the food was ‘ok’ whereas the tiramisu was still amazing. A snack bar was open during the day (near to the pool area) – we had the odd beer and coffee/cake but didn’t eat there. There was a number of bars across different locations (including pool area) – these opened at different times during the day. GENERAL COMMENTS We didn’t venture out at all – we were only staying for a week and simply wanted to chill. There are two pools (separated by a bridge) but they were too cold to use during our stay. The entertainment team worked very hard – we participated in Pilates, Stretching, Darts and Boules. The evening entertainment however was a bit hit and miss. The Charlie Chaplin Magician was really good and everything else was average or poor. Everything seemed to close down at 11.00pm which suited me fine as I am such a light sleeper. Here is my summary of positives and negative about the stay: POSITIVES: 1. The staff are amazingly friendly and speak excellent English. 2. Our sleep quality was excellent and the bed really comfortable. 3. The tiramisu was AMAZING. 4. There is a fashion show which takes place before lunchtime most days. NEGATIVES: 1. The balcony door didn’t lock however we didn’t report this, we just placed our luggage behind it. 2. We probably had three hot meals during the entire week – the hot food buffet seemed to be refreshed regularly but this didn’t seem to make much difference. 3. The al-a-carte restaurant (outside) was really cold – perhaps the doors could be closed during the colder months. 4. The safe is charged at 3 euros per day plus deposit – I received 11 euros back as my deposit. We have stayed in many all-inclusive resorts where this is included. 5. Pool towels are available at a charge of 10 euros deposit each. This isn’t a problem in itself however you have to pay 1 euro every time you change them. We have never been charged to change towels anywhere we have stayed. 6. The spa (including jacuzzi) offers one free spa session but this has to be used with the first two days of your stay. Afterwards there is a charge. 7. The gym doesn’t open until 11.00am – in previous hotels, I have often visited the gym during the morning just after breakfast. 8. The hotel website states that ‘smart dress code’ is expected in the restaurants – during our stay we didn’t see any evidence of this as men were wearing shorts and t-shirts. 9. The spiral staircase was often being mopped during our journey to breakfast and my husband thought this was very dangerous as no slip signs were placed out. We don’t tend to stay in the same hotel so probably wouldn’t stay here again. Even though I have outlined more negative than positive comments, the fact that we slept during our stay and the staff were so friendly and helpful meant that we would give this four stars.
Good location near to the beach. We had all inclusive. Meal was good, always different options, including barbecue. Drinks were not so good, I couldn't taste the alcohol on it. A lot of bars and restaurants around with reasonable price.
