Room was basic, but very clean. Great to have fridge and microwave. We did have a dog room. It smelled strongly of smoke initially. Guessing they smoker's rooms and dog rooms are the same. Staff was helpful and friendly.

The property is very well located, close to Fechin House that we wanted to visit. However, the staff is untrained and lacks good manners and has strange idea that they can joke at visitor’s expense for no reason. One person while talking about incidental temporary hold on a credit card explained that it is done in case we steal a TV set or something like that. Phrasing it like that is simply demeaning to law abiding customers. The property is rather old and is not in a good condition. The rooms were warm, but the heating system was very noisy, and because of that we did not sleep well at night. The electric sockets are very old and can barely hold the power cord plugs. The lamp on the night stand near the bed did not work at all, and it was very inconvenient.

The whole sray was quiet and it was solitude that i needed. And though my stay was cut short, i really enjoyed my visit there.

The staff was amazing. They suggested things in town to see and made our visit smooth.

A visually unique property, conventiently located to downtown. The ambience simply added to the overall experience of visiting Taos. Found the front desk friendly and helpful and most welcoming. When I return, I will stay here again.

Pleasant and helpful staff; clean property.

That property have a lot of potential for family I like the patio in the middle of the property that you can make a fire I'm enjoyed with people in my opinion the hotel need a huge renovation but for the price is good very good for family time

The Kachina has all the potential in the world. I hope that they finish the renovations but keep the charm. As it is now, however, it’s a little depressing. Both the bar and restaurant are closed, and overall the place is in shabby conditions. It is well located, though - in walking distance to the plaza.

The hotel was built with traveler comfort and convenience in mind. Unfortunately all of the amenities were not available. No bar or restaurant, pool was closed. The hotel is being remodeled, if it’s done right it will once again be a location Taos is proud of. There was no WiFi which was very inconvenient.

Nice courtyard. Nice furnishings, but rooms were rough around the edges-chipped paint, old blinds. Sewage smell from bathroom toilet or shower drain.

This motel is definitely making a comeback. The owners have done a tremendous job of rennovating the facilities. The rooms have had a substantial makeover. Comfy beds, new appliances, fresh linens, etc. It's obvious the love and care the owners have put into this place. The property was quiet and peaceful with a beautiful view of the mountains. It's very close to the plaza as well. I will always stay here when visiting Taos. You should too.

Nice people nice place to stay

Crack pipe in a tissue box, got a new room and then no real complaints. Great service, awesome town. Close enough to walk to the plaza. Thanks!

I loved the location which was close to the Plaza and restaurants, right on the main road. My room was clean and had a refrigerator and microwave which came in handy since I ate in a lot. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I’d definitely stay there again!

Very cute property. Only downside was the very noisy guests upstairs. Request a single story room.

I have stayed at this property twice. The first time, I had a great experience. The property/rooms are not luxurious by any means, but after my first visit, I'd have said that the rooms are a great value given the cost. My second visit was disappointing. We noticed issues with the cleanliness of the room (random trash underneath furniture, long hair from previous guests that should have been easily visible while cleaning, pet hair on a decorative pillow), but none of them were huge issues, so we let it go. We had a few issues with ants in our bathroom on the first day/night, but again, nothing worth complaining about. The morning we checked out, we picked up a bag and found roughly 50 ants on the bottom of it. Very soon after, we found an insect in our bed that looked similar to a bedbug. I went and spoke to the person at the front desk and explained my concerns. He said that he would speak with management and someone would be in touch with me in the next 2-3 days. I told him I had a photo of the bug in our bed that I would be happy to share for reference, and he asked that I email the photo to the property's email address. I sent an email outlining the issues we had on 3/15 and another on 3/22 to follow up. I have given it some time given the coronavirus, but I have still not received a response. Some sort of compensation would have been ideal, but honestly just a response at all would've been appreciated. This experience leads me to not want to return to the property.

It was nice to stay during the whole COVID 19 lock down as they called to let me know about hours change of lobby. Really cute hotel as well.

Great price for the stay - close to the city and Taos ski resort. The property was great - the only issues were that the hot tub and internet were not usable during our stay, otherwise great stay!

Thanks for your stay, Kachina was not kept well by the previous owner due to many factors, but we as new owners are committed and very diligently bringing it back to its glory days. we very much appreciate our guest support in understanding the time and effort it will take to bring it back .
