Great property and very courteous staff. Rooms were just a little dark but very clean and spacious.

Excellent place I would definitely recommend to my friends and aquaintances. The casitas are a must, plenty of space with even an outdoor patio with a beautiful fountain. The Argentina casita, wao!!! Service is top of the line. Super relaxing experience! I can't remember the name of the front desk lady, but thank you! You are amazing!

The indoor pool and spa was great. Fun, good bar, good bar menu, good breakfast. Overall, a grand slam

A beautiful setting combined with friendly, responsive service made our stay memorable. We will be back!

We stayed in this hotel after camping for four days as we thought it would be a great place for some R and R, around 930 at night one of my party was talking on the phone on the property and was assaulted and experienced an attempted mugging in plain view of the bell desk, no one came to help and he would've been assaulted further if not for another guest returning to the property at the same time and their car scared off the attackers. The hotel's response to this event was simply a statement just to say that it was unfortunate. The staff was extremely rude when dealing with my questions , The assistant manager was evasive and brash, the human resources manager tried to get us to sign legal documents in the middle of the night, and the general manager thinks that an apology is an OK resolution for this matter. The property is nice however if you care for the safety of your family and your guest as well as expect the staff at ahotel with a rating this high to treat you appropriately , this is not the place for you .

The hotel has is quite lovely -- beautiful grounds, very nice rooms, and good facilities. The staff was helpful. The value was good. One criticism is that the spa wasn't up to the same high standards. They had no one to help, no one to stock items, and overall the facility not very well appointed. In addition, I find the parking charge excessive given that you could park the car yourself. To their credit, the valets who were very attentive would drive you to town center and to restaurants if you requested.

Excellent! Very nice amenities especially the pool and grounds. Loved the yoga.

Loved the complimentary yoga on the weekend. The site and the rooms are beautiful. Great location - just a few blocks from downtown Taos.

Despite an odd check-in experience--the registration desk is in an office nowhere near the front of the hotel--I wish we could have spent longer! The decor is very different with high-end finishes and whimsical touches, like the giant suspended crystal, the 'anaconda' in the bar, and the sculptural logs in the outdoor fireplace. The staff was friendly, the room spacious and romantic, with a huge soaking tub and gas fireplace. We enjoyed coffee on our little patio looking out on a huge open space shaded by giant cottonwoods. It was SO quiet! We never heard a child. For us that's great--but suggests this isn't really a family place. $20 for parking seemed a little steep, but overall we felt the hotel was a good value. We'll definitely stay here again!

The Hotel was very well maintained. Everything regarding the grounds and amenities were perfect. The staff was great until they found out my wife was a smoker. Then she & I were treated a bit like we were not good enough to be there. Weather I go with the Mountain rooms or suite I expect to be treated as if I'm a paying customer as I am financially well off of better than some that stay in the suites. When my wife was forced to smoke in an 8x10 area that was basically being used as a storage area and generally blocked off I was disappointed. I would suggest having the separated smokers area at least cleaned up and presented in as equally comfortable and tranquil fashion as the rest of the hotel. And staff should never act as judge and jury for any guest.

The photos in the website show how beautiful is the place but when you are there, it is much more! Great details, great staff, just special. Thank you!

loved the rooms, especially the fireplace and shower.

It's on a beautiful 10 acre property, well manicured and landscaped. It's close enough to the main shopping area in Taos and easily driveable to other parts. The room we had was nicely decorated in a sothwest motif. Peaceful and serene, but many many amenities as well.

The grounds were beautiful, the decor and amenities exquisite. The beds were as comfortable as home! On cold Taos mornings, having the valet bring the car, already warm, was an absolute pleasure. After exploring Taos, it was so nice to soak away the day in the gorgeous bathtub! But I have to say that what made my stay so special was the staff-they were kind and gracious and went out of their way to show me around and make me feel welcome. Job well done-I will definitely come back!!!

Wow! If you're looking for a fantastic place to relax, look no further. The grounds are beautiful, the staff is friendly, and it's just a ten minute walk from downtown historic Taos. We can't wait to go again!

This magnificent Taos, New Mexico hotel is a MUST EXPERIENCE destination. As a married couple traveling with our 2 dogs, well experienced and spoiled by 4 and 5 star and other charming accommodations, we were surprised to find the El Monte Sacrado Living Resort & Spa [...], and found that this hotel truly raised the bar. It is fabulous! Consistently first rate customer service, beautiful design (the room decor is high luxury AND regional charm Taos, New Mexico charm), meticulously landscaped grounds with pools and southwestern sculptures, beautiful architectural and design detail, and delectable gourmet cuisine including regional specialties. The hotel is cheerfully dog friendly. The bed and shower alone are worth the stay because both will expand what you belive is even possible in luxury, comfort & design. If all this were not enough, the hotel boasts a revolutionary green/sustainable water system for the lush grounds, is full of original art, and would be appropriate for business, families, a romantic getaway, special occasions or even a healing retreat. Highest marks! We hated to leave!

Upon entering the property of El Monte Segrado resort, my husband and I could already see why it was so highly recommended. From the prompt valet service to the knowledgeable concierge, we were efficiently and respectfully introduced to the resort's amenities. On top of that, our room was perfection! The interior design concept is that of modern melded with rustic (yes, it is possible!) and it worked flawlessly. Although we were only there for one evening, the resort staff made us feel like family. The couple we traveled with incurred a small leak in their bathroom, which was immediately attended to (while the resort dining staff found out and comped us our entire breakfast). Both my husband and myself, upon checkout, regretted that we had not planned for a longer stay. In short, I cannot recommend El Monte Segrado more!!

This was our first time in Toas. Our primary purpose for the visit was to ski. We were disappointed that the hotel did not have any brosures on local ski resorts. The rooms are very nice, but the restaurant is expensive and slow -- it seemed to be understaffed. We started eating at the bar, which has good hamburgers. The spa is beautiful, but also very expensive. I would recommend dropping price on spa treatments and restaurant.

the hotel and location is perfect for the Taos experience. I wish i could have stayed longer. The food and drinks at the hotel were astonishing.

This was our 2nd visit. Pool and hot tub closed.(we choose this hotel based on the fact that it had a great indoor pool). Girl at check-in was not too helpful. Room smelled bad. Bar closed before 10pm. The 2nd day we were here the front desk day clerk did upgrade us to a suite. Our 1st visit was 5 stars our 2nd was 4 stars.
