I needed a hotel convenient to the Taipei City Hall Bus Station. On a previous trip, my brother stayed at the Tango XinYi, and I was impressed enough by what I saw. I stayed in the cheapest room; no windows looking out, one king sized bed, no meals included. There are many thoughtful touches that are associated with pricier hotels: there is a wall of windows that looks onto a Japanese style courtyard with an artificial tree. The space has a clear divided office space and each space plus the bathtub have flat screen TV's. There is a DVD player, a stereo with speakers and a Bose subwoofer, an iron with ironing board, and now a full suite of sample (travel bag sized) toiletries in the bathroom (no longer large containers bolted to the shower wall). The interesting twists: the hotel provides you with a "Handy" branded smart phone which you can use for free during your stay. Local calls and calls to the U.S. are free on this phone (though I could not figure out how to get people to call me). This was a lifesaver; I didn't have to use my home phone or rent a SIM chip for a week's stay. The laundry is expensive, more or less the going rate for hotels in the are, but they wash one set of underwear and socks for every night above two nights that you stay for free. And the lounge is always available with snacks and a cappuccino machine. They were gracious when I forgot I hadn't reserved breakfast and ate there anyway, and provided newspapers free. Loved it and will be back!

The Tango provides a less expensive alternative to the luxury hotels of Xinyi. It has a modern, chic style, and the rooms are above average in size. The location is right on the outskirts of Xinyi, and the immediate 2-block radius of the hotel is rather dull, but a 10-15 minute walk will get you to the heart of Xinyi. The room has a complex lighting scheme, but it's great if you're picky about lighting. The TV remote controls the lights, and with the press of one button, you can cycle through different levels of brightness and mood. I also liked the fact that all rooms have both a large jacuzzi tub and a large shower. Keep in mind that many of the rooms don't have windows, so if you want some daylight, consider upgrading beyond the standard room, and make it clear to the staff that you want a window.

Close to yonghua and Shangxan train stations. Family mart and 7/11 across the street. Outdoor fruit market near gate 5 of Yonghua. Taipei 101 close enough to walk to. Quiet. Came with wife and daughter to visit parents. Large jacuzzi tub with tv. Reasonable breakfast with congee. Standard workout area with 5 machines and free weights. Well priced. Will likely go again.

It has a 24 hours snack bar with great location...close to 101 and other places in xanyi district...The room is big and also has a Jacuzzi...Great overall

The hotel was great. But when I called then to tell them that my flight was cancelled by the airline, they did not want to let me cancel my first night. Every hotel I've ever encountered has extended that courtesy since it was beyond my control. For that, I probably can't stay there again.

The rooms are spacious for Taipei, rooms are clean and well appointed. I will definitely stay here again.

We stayed 3 nights at the Tango Hotel Xinyi after two other Taipei hotels and this one by far provided a much larger room. In-room minibar included complimentary selection of teas, bottles of water, Coca-Cola, Pocari Sweat and Sprite. The room was very well appointed with a huge jacuzzi tub, separate shower, marble surfaces everywhere and a full selection of toiletries and a nice non-washlet toilet. It was an interior room (with no window) that had 3 partitioned areas: an entry room with large desk and chaise lounge, flanked on either side by the huge bathroom and king bedroom. Each area had its own TV and the bedroom area had a hi-fi system and DVD player. Very similar in-room features to the Tango Hotel in Nanshi district, but in a much larger room.

Lot's of potential and some hit/miss to the place as well. The location is fine enough; a walkable distance to shopping, TW's must-see bookstore, etc. and a short taxi ride to sights such as Taipei 101. The room featured a jacuzzi and music system but neither worked well and weren't fixable during the stay. I would suggest skipping the standard breakfast buffet and hit the streets - a couple of blocks walk to the right will take you to all kinds of local restaurants and cafe type places.

Big room with all facilities! Yacuzzi amazing!! 100% recommendable!

This has been a great experience in the heart of Taipei, not too crowded but convenient location to all places. Pretty large rooms with everything you need. Breakfast was great. You can leave your baggage to the front desk if you are leaving on a late night flight. I will highly recommend The Tango to my friends.

- Great location - Quick walk to the MRT - Clean and new room - Helpful staff Upon arrival, the Staff was quick and prompt. They called my room to check in on me and to explain that I've been given a complimentary upgrade. This hotel is on the pricier side, and you get what you pay for. Very luxurious and comfortable. Bed was great. Bathroom was fully-featured, with both a standalone shower and bathtub. The entire room looked very new. Complimentary breakfast was standard. Like someone else mentioned, the hallways are a tad dark, but you're not spending too much time there. And there are security cameras, so your safety is hopefully not an issue.

A little bit too far from the main area of xinyi. Wish there was a gym, spa, and lounge/wine bar.

The room was spacious and clean. The Staff was helpful. Checkin was painless. Calls were promptly forwarded. Able to store luggage (free) and reserve a taxi (extra charge) on the last day. Location of the hotel is very convenient - a brisk 3-min walk to the MRT. Complimentary breakfast had lots of options.

The service was great, the accomodations were clean, the hotel was located in a nice area near Taipei 101. Great expierience as a business travelers hotel.

Outstanding Room with all the ammenities you could want. Friendly & knowledgable Staff. Wlaking distance to shops, a Night Market and the MRT.
