Was scouting hotels around there. Firstly, always check out their toilets. Unfortunately they wont even let us see their toilet, the first thing said was when they see us walking in was, sorry no toilet. Anyway hotel is so rundown. You wont want to stay there unless you are desperate. Dont spoil your holiday.
If given a room facing the streets. It is very very noisy from morning until midnight. Pricey because of its location. Location top notch. Hotel maintenance is needed. Lots of food and shops just outside the hotel. Taxis and cars not allowed outside the hotel after certain times of the day.
Poor English. Email committed for type of room but denied and argumentative. Ask for name, said "booking.com" ...What is ur position... 主任， at least have surname right, reluctantly said Lim / Lee??? If you are right, you should honour and proud of your name and position. Never ever stay here. Horrible experience. There are better hotel...all exit 6 from train station.
Hotel is very old, lacked of maintenance, have a foul smell in the whole hotel, carpet is dirty n dusty seems like carpet had not been shampooed for the past decade. Service staff talk loudly at late night, hotel room interior is old n dirty. Most importantly there's no wifi, hotel staff reason is signal is weak if u want to use wifi had to use at lobby and there's is no seat at the mini lobby. The worse hotel stay ever would not there there ever again. This hotel seriously need upgrade else there won't be any return guest.
The location of this hotel is unbeatable, right at the cross-junction of Ximending. The downside is that noise filters into the room easily, especially noise by street performers. However, most street acts end by 11pm, so plan your sleep schedule properly if you're someone who can't sleep with noise. Alternatively, you can request for a room that faces away from the street. The room was surprisingly lovely for a budget hotel, and the bed was extremely comfortable to sleep on. The room came with all the basic ammenities of a hotel and for the price I paid, it was extremely worth it.
One thing this hotel has going for it is the location. It's smack right in the centre of Xi Men Ding.Youll find so many shops, food, stalls within a few steps reach outside of the hotel. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Only downsides were that the room was very small and outdated though clean. The lift in the hotel is very cramped and had an unpleasant odor. This didn't spoil our holiday though and wouldnt mind staying here again.
It was my first travel to Taiwan, and so, my friend introduced me to Rainbow Hotel. Firstly, the location is good, the building is big so you will never miss it. It is only 5 minute walk from the hotel to the nearest train station (Ximending). Along the walk, you will find numerous food restaurants (from ramen to western to chinese food), and also 7-11 to get a quick drink. I reached the hotel 5 hours earlier than the check in time but the counter staff said that it is possible to do an early check in if there was room available. Lucky for me, there was a room available and upon paying an amount (it was acceptable amount to me because all I needed was a rest after an 5 hour flight), I got to check in. The room is a little small but as a traveller, I'm only there for sleep and rest so, the space doesn't bother me at all. The room is very clean. I loved it. The bathroom could get very cold in the winter so do wear the slippers provided to not get your feet cold. The counter staff service is very good, they are very friendly to provide you any information or help you require. The only bad thing is the lift, because it's an old building, it often gets overloaded easily, but if you're staying on a lower floor, always faster to access by the lift (when going down). I stayed on the 6th floor and always took the stairs down instead of waiting for the lift. Advised to check out earlier if possible to avoid people checking out on the same timing, the lift can get very slow due to luggage weight.
We stayed at Rainbow Hotel as a family on 6th December 2016. Being right smack in the middle of Xi Men Ding, eateries, shopping outlets and other amenities are just a very short distance away. The rooms are decently-sized and clean, while the receptionist was friendly. Other reviewers mentioned that the lift, noise and wi-fi signal are negatives. Indeed, there is only one lift in the hotel and 5 of us (4 adults + 1 child) could fit in nicely together with our luggage; there is no way the lift could accommodate one more person. As for the noise level, either we were too tired or our room was facing away from the street, so we were not affected by any loud noises. We also brought along our own router, so we couldn't comment on the strength of the wi-fi signal. All in all it was a good stay. With a superb location and providing good value for your money (SGD 95 / USD 68 for a Double Room and SGD 146 / USD 104 for a Triple Room), I would recommend staying at Rainbow Hotel.
I always thought Rainbow hotel is a must-stay since its smacked right in the middle of Xi Men Ding where the convenience level is of extremely pleasant status. Wouldn't it be a dream if your house is just right above a night market with really #cheapthrill food? I HAVE TO BET MINE IS. However, there's a tiny price to pay. Lobby was so small you'd be surprised, since the building look huge on the outside whenever you walk past it. Another thing is, the lift, is hopeless. The max number of people on board the lift is.........5. Yes 5. If someone is slightly bigger, sorry, 4 is the max and you have to wait for the next round. My group had 9 people with 1 wheelchair. 1 of our rooms had no view, it was basically a wall even if there was a window. Even if we had a view, our window was quite small too. My family was 3 persons, and we got a corner room, which felt abit eerie on the single bed side that is separated by the toilet in the middle, and the queen size bed on the other side of the room. I made sure i slept earlier than my parents and with my music on. As for other rooms, our grandma had the best room aka Superior Double, along with her maid and it is nearer to the lift. The room is big but its meant for 2 only. You can try your luck to request for that room paying at lower price (that's what happened to us as there isn't much rooms left) and we requested to be nearer in case anything happened. To conclude, i admit i did manage to rest enough for early morning, but the bed was a bit dusty.....(use a towel to cover for your face at least). Read reviews promptly before booking!!
Stayed for 5 nights. it's an old hotel but in a very gd location though. Walls are thin, nt sound proof. Toilet bowl will get stuck if you throw toilet paper into it. Staff are friendly though and and yr queries well.
