The room was clean, bright and refreshingly cold. The hotel was in a unique neighborhood with good eats.

When I booked, I did not know that this hotel was in the infamous red light district hahah. But as I stated in my title this area is up and coming so I there wasn't really anything too scandalous that happened when there. The room I stayed in was a twin suite. The bathroom was so tiny. When I sat on the toilet my knee touched the sink. I am 5'7". Getting into the shower required you to be be a bit of contortionist. The lighting in this room was awful. They use fluorescent lights. Room looked even shabbier as a result.

I didn't like the first room I had and I could very easily change for a much better one

Very nice building in the middle of potts point but very disappointing room.

My stay at Springfield Lodge was pleasant for the most part. The room had a decent amount of space, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom, however, was pretty tiny. The room included a fridge (no microwave), and an electric kettle. Room service came by everyday to tidy up the room and provided new towels, shampoo, etc. daily. However, our sheets were not changed even once throughout our 5 night stay. Also, the kitchen in the hotel needs some serious cleaning. We saw roaches there, and the toaster was extremely filthy. Otherwise, the hotel was decent and its location is a huge plus.

I booked after careful research and this place exceeded my expectations. As a single traveler, this place is accessible to everything and walking distance from tourist attractions. Love it. The staff was excellent. I would definitely return to this boutique hotel. Great stay staff location and value.

Good location and really nice staff. Walls are too thin as you can hear neighbors talking at all hours. Room could have been cleaned more thoroughly. Overall ok.

Considering that is supposedly in the rough part of Sydney and how little we paid, I thought this was an AWESOME value. The Metro stop was only 5 mins. away on the other end of the busy street. Get out and head left and the hotel (really more an inn/motel) is where the residential section starts. SO, overall not the scary dive I was expecting from some other reviews. Check in was easy, friendly clerk. There is an attached restaurant which has a wonderful breakfast/brunch menu (NOT included but how could you considering how cheap the room was). We were in the basement which actually wasn't that bad b/c we did have a window and natural light. Bathroom and room were tiny with 2 small twin beds but for the 16 hours we spent in it, it was fine. Had all the amenities needed and it was very clean. Must eat the $10 steak at the bar across the street.

Our experience at Springfield Lodge was special. The staff was the best and went out of their way to make our stay a delight. Close too public transportation and located across the street from a great organic market which also has a great restaurant. We will stay here again return when we return to Sydney.

I was staying here before I started a tour and flew into Gold Coast. I was alone and the staff was very nice and helpful when giving me directions and ideas for daily activities. My three night stay was great!

The hotel is very close to King's Cross subway. It's very convenient for public transportation. However, my room has very strange shape. The space between toilet and the wall is very narrow. The floor has no carpet, and I felt not comfortable about it. If you want to save money for one night, it's an okay choice.

Only stayed the one night before picking up my keys to move back into my own unit after 6 months away. My room here was probably the smallest I've stayed in but was quite comfortable, was in a great location - midst of restaurants and other food outlets, transport and nightlife.

the location was very good and close to train station. farmer market in front of hotel give me an easy access to food!! only problem is hearing people from next room talking in night time. but for tourist who do not need to stay the whole day in room, it is very good one for the price you pay!!

Not bad at all, not great either. Nice place, good room and bathroom size, good location (near food places).

Located in a very central location. Amenities and cleanliness could have been much better but for the price, I couldnt complain. The staff were extremely friendly and very willing to help!

The staff was awesome. Parking was scarce but the hotel gave a voucher for half off the price of parking at a garage a couple of blocks away. The location is near the red light district but I felt safe because I saw tons of policemen patrolling the area. There is a grocery store directly across the street from the hotel entrance; that was pretty awesome! The walk to the train station was about two minutes and the cost was only $5 for a day pass. There are also souvenir shops close to this hotel; they were a bit cheaper than the shops near the opera house. They had tons of travel brochures in the lobby and the staff was very knowledgeable about the area. The hotel was extremely clean and I would definitely stay there again.

Room was small for 2 people, however building is nice and clean- well kept. Location is a little bit sketchy, in Kings Cross which is known for their nightlife, overall felt pretty safe when walking back from train station. Close to underground train station to get to Darling Harbour/Circular Quay... would be 45 min walk to get to these places. Decent price. About 3/5 stars mostly due to location, location didn't ruin our trip, we still had a great time in Sydney

Imagine finding out that without any warning, we ended up in an undesirable area.... When someone pays over $100 a night and presumably stays in a 3*** hotel, the expectation is that we are staying in a decent hotel! Next time, I will do my own independent research!!

This was very nice for the price I paid. For the person who said he has stayed in better for less, he did not in Sydney. Just because you can stay in a very upscale hotel for under $100 in Detroit doesn't correlate to Sydney. In between my two stays at the Springfield Lodge I stayed in a Hostel for about the same price. Here you get all the hotel things you expect, private bathroom, a TV with cable, housekeeping etc.. Good value for Sydney.

The hotel is very well localted, close to a metro (subway) station, and in a very cozy neighborhood. Although it's close to what's becoming the red light district, you don't have to walk that way, and even if you do, it's not dangerous at all. It doesn't have any ammenities...it's a Bed and Breakfast, but the staff are very nice and helpful. The hotel also has a very good restaurant.
