Rendezvous Hotel Sydney The Rocks

This hotel was a pleasant experience from the beginning of our three night stay. The front desk was most accommodating - delivering our bags to the room since we checked in many hours before check in time. They were very helpful with suggestions and even called our tour operator the morning of the tour to make sure we were being picked up on time. The kitchenette came in handy and the room was quite large for the price. They could use a little updating, and the cleaning of the room could be improved, but all in all I would recommend this hotel for the great value it is for the money spent in expensive Sydney. There is no better location than the Rocks to walk to almost everything! We were two blocks walk from our cruise ship, and could walk to the train station, the ferry piers, and many great restaurants and pubs, and the Opera House.

This hotel was in a fantastic location. The size of the one bedroom apartment was excellent, we had a one bedroom which allowed our teenage daughter to stay on a roll away in the living room. The staff was efficient and helpful, but not overly proactive. We got lucky, we used a rental car for two days of our stay and got the weekend/holiday rate. Check the rate in the lot first, before taking the hotel parking rate. The rooms were clean, the hotel was clean. We didn't use the pool, but they had a hot tub and pool which looked decent.

Conveniently located in The Rocks. Close proximity to harbour bridge, circular quay and opera house.

We had a good experience here however, there is no view of the harbor or anything really so we had to walk around to get the views.

We booked a room with a balcony, only to find the neighboring buildings were taller than our balcony, leaving us with no view except for that of other rooftops. However, the balcony was nice, and the set-up probably contributed to the room being relatively quiet for a city location. The room itself is starting to look a little shabby and will need updating soon, while the bathroom was compact without much room to set items. We didn't use the kitchen or other amenities of the hotel as we were only there one night. Staff was pleasant and helpful and there was coffee in the lobby in the mornings. The location was perfect, in close proximity to the train station, ferry terminal, Opera House, harbour bridge, etc. Perfect for walking! The only negative was we tried to book a room for one night at the end of our stay, and we were told there was a 2 night minimum due to the cruise ship season having started. We couldn't figure out why that would matter, and it was a bit disappointing they were not welcoming of us as repeat customers. This put us off of the place.

The hotel met our expectations. Clean, comfortable, nice staff. If you can reserve a room on a high floor you will have a better view over the harbor. The location means you can walk to Circular Quay for all the ferries, buses and trains within a few minutes. There are plenty of pubs, restaurants and shops as well as the Museum of Contemporary Art also a few minutes' walk away. You can walk onto the Sydney Harbour Bridge in a short time (we walked across it and returned by train. Get a MyMulti travel pass from the Tourist Office down the road from the hotel in The Rocks to travel on buses, ferries and trains. The Opera House and other attractions can be reached in 20 - 25 minutes on foot.

good enough location but our room had terrible wi-fi. Also little details like how old the room was wasn't to our liking. Basically, room did not match pictures that we saw online.

The title says it all! This place was amazing. We loved the location, the room, the comfort, the staff. It doesn't get any better than this hotel in Sydney.

We stayed here for 2 nights in April 2014. Our room was ready when we arrived early and easy walking distance for those cruise passengers arriving in Circular Quay. The room was clean and comfortable. The Rocks is a great area to stay in, so you cannot beat the location. The hotel staff was very friendly, booked our tickets to the zoo, arranged for the shuttle to pick us up to take us to the hotel and checked us into our flights online. The room needs a bit of updating but for the price and location it was worth it. **Note: we did not use the pool or have breakfast at the hotel, so I cannot comment on those.

yes., this was a disappointment from the beginning to the end of this stay. My husband and I were given a room on the first floor (which was a joke!!) We had to carry our heavy suitcases up and down about 15 steps before we got to the room and then our bedroom was about another 12-15 steps . Once in our bedroom the carpet was very faded and dirty looking. We were right by the street and it was very noisy late in the night.. i complained to the staff on duty about the steps and she just said sorry. The only plus was the hotel was in a good location,. We had to leave my purse, cellphone and some medication that was left in the safe in the room that neither my husband, myself or the staff could get the safe unlocked. They promised to immediately mail our items once they opened the safe. We have been home for 12 days and we still do not have our items. This was no 4 star hotel (at least our room was not. i would not recommend this hotel to anyone,

My husband and I stayed our last two nights in Australia in this hotel. We were very disappointed. We were given a ground floor room and one would think no steps right, well that was very wrong. First we had to go up and down at least 15 steps with two very heavy suitcases. There was no one to assist us. Then we got to our room and had to go another group of steps (about 12-15) to get to our bedroom. I even complained to ther desk clerk the first night about all the steps and she just said "sorry". The bedroom was very small and nothing like the pictures on their website. The carpet was dingy and very faded. This definatly was not a 4 star room. The only plus was that it was close to the harbor. i WOULD not recommend
