Our first night here was in a very tiny room with perhaps the smallest ensuite i have ever seen. After making a comment about the small room the owners very happily moved us to a bigger room the following day - which was very kind and something we appreciated. This room was certainly much more spacious and like the penthouse of the hotel. Location was convenient and it was quiet which was what we were after. Not sure we'd stay here again.
Old hotel but unique. Small room but enough for solo occupancy. No elevator in this hotel as the building is too old to have one. Otherwise the hotel is clean and centralized to Oxford Street,Darlinghurst, Sydney CBD.
We returned to this hotel 7 years on from our last visit. Arrived early after disembarking from the Queen Mary....and lovely Luke had a room ready for us....even upgraded us. Spotless room, comfortable bed and well appointed kitchenette. Lovely aesop toiletries. In certain areas woodwork and paintwork is beginning to look a little tired, but overall still a great place to stay.
Stayed here for 5 nights. Friendly and helpful staff. The amenities are clean and comfortable. Stayed in the deluxe room which was a good size and had a large bathroom. It had windows and shutters so you could open up for fresh air and view the courtyard and water feature.
In the middle of the hustle and bustle of Sydney there is this beautiful little gem! We only stayed for one night but would gladly had stayed for longer. The staff were all happy, smiling and helpful and the accommodation was exactly what we needed with a great shower, comfortable bed and everything provided - even USB plugs by the bed. We didn't need to use the kitchen facilities but I can see that these would be fantastic if you were having a longer stay.
We had 3 nights at the Medusa in February 2018. The area is safe and lively with good access to key areas in the city. It’s a small hotel but with good attention to detail. The guys running it are super friendly and full of advice. Our room was onto the small courtyard. The room was large, with tall ceilings and well equipped. The bed was enormous. We really loved it. The waterfall in the courtyard is noisy but better than hearing traffic. If you don’t need the big chain hotels, try this one.
What a fab hotel in a buzzing area about 25 - 30 min walk to Harbour Bridge. The guys Jesse and Luke are “fabulous”, great fun and very helpful who made our stay delightful. Small hotel, lucky enough to get upgrade to a gorgeous light, large and airy room . Would recommend and would def return if ever going to Sydney again .
Fab boutique hotel in the eastern suburbs. Very gay friendly, beautifully appointed and well located hotel on Darlinghurst Road. Convenient to all the best Sydney has to offer - cafes, bars, restaurants, trains, buses or it’s walking distance to pretty much anything. Big bonus is that it is dog friendly, with no stupid surcharge.
Stayed here for three nights, and the main criteria were walking distance to SCG and decent place to sleep. Took a bit of a punt on Medusa, and we were very pleased. Easy walk to cricket ground, pub across the road, plenty of restaurants near by. Had a balcony room, which was very pleasant. It is quirky, it is not your usual modern, chain hotel, so you need to know that. No bar or restaurant in house. The road is noisy, but this is an old building with thick doors and walls. Luke was fantastically helpful, and just full of ideas, and provided over and above help with luggage.
Arrived at 9:30 in the morning after flight from UK - receptionist was very helpful with local knowledge & we got our room by 10:30. Room was good. Location is good - you can walk to central Sydney & there's plenty of nearby restaurants & cafe's - & a pub just across the road.
