Won’t ever recommend to anyone I know, we couldn’t sleep at all the night due to the heat and the aircon didn’t work and no windows would open. There were dead bugs in the hallway and room. The elevator didn’t work and the stairwell was no more than half a metre wide.
Its a nice chain hotel in the centre of kings cross. I will admit the reviews had me nervous and I was prepared to walk out if needed. As work was paying I sucked it up and went it. Its clean, its tidy, its a standard hotel in a touristy area. The bathrooms are WEIRD (they are essentially where any sensible person would have a wardrobe, and the location of the air-conditioning unit (above the door), was essentially useless in moving the air around due to a vestibule. Also whoever decided that putting the air con controller on the wall where it was blocked by a wardrobe probably needs to be reminded that most people are not contortionists. It was very difficult to see/read. Also there was a LARGE gap at the bottom of the door, which meant light flooded into room while you were trying to sleep. I ended up having to put a rolled up towel at the bottom of the door so that I could get some rest.
Rooms far smaller than advertised and the air conditioning was appalling. Rooms far too hot to be able to sleep in resulting in us leaving the hotel far more exhausted than when we arrived. Offer to make up for this far too small from the front desk staff.
Quest at Potts Point had very clean rooms and was great for an overnight stay in Sydney. The staff were friendly and helpful during our short stay. The one bad thing is that the hotel is so close to Kings Cross, which is quite a dirty strip with an even worse reputation. Other than that, the location is central to most Sydney attractions.
A real shame, the staff were great and the room was great, but there was also cockroaches in the room. My gf has a literal phobia of cockroaches and wouldn't stop crying for the next hour. She was scared to sleep, scared to even touch the ground. Having to move the bed around in the middle of the night to find and kill the cockroach is not something I should have to do when staying at an apparently 4 star hotel, paying hundreds of dollars a night. This is simply unacceptable.
The whole experience with our stay at this hotel was terrible, from a Manager lying about cheaper available parking in the area, to getting a room with no air conditioning working, even though they knew the air conditioning was broken on that floor.
I booked two studio apartments here for my husband and I and my parents between Christmas 2017 and New Year 2018. It was only an overnight trip and we drove here from Canberra. As an aside, it was a bit tricky driving from Canberra into Sydney, so I would recommend travellers from interstate to catch a interstate bus such as Greyhound or Murrays instead of driving, especially if you're not familiar with Sydney roads! Quest Potts Point does provide parking facilities (must be booked in advanced), but a note of caution, the parking spots are not very big at all. A full-sized sedan would struggle to fit and we were in a Jeep Grand Cherokee! I will probably say that the biggest car that would fit comfortably in the car spots would be no bigger than a hatchback, like the Holden Astra, or similar size. Quest was very accommodating and allowed us to park our Jeep across two spots, otherwise there was absolutely no way the car would fit. The bed in the Studio Apartment was quite comfortable, and the linen was clean. The bathroom was a bit small but adequate. It's about 20 minute walk into the Sydney CBD, so not the most convenient location if you want to go somewhere like Pitt Street Mall, but there was plenty of nightlife just around the corner and casual eateries as well. Overall, a decent stay for a short trip but not luxurious if you're looking something like that. I would also like to make a special mention of the service and say a massive thank you to the staff at Quest! They were lovely and accommodating, and I had actually left a jumper and a shirt behind by accident, but they sent it along in the post, which arrived safe and sound. We really appreciate the effort they put into this!
I booked 3 apartments for my 40th b’day weekend and the configurations were great for 7 adults and a baby. For 3 nights stay I found the apartment very comfortable, I would only suggest the sink in the bathroom be bigger and more room for toiletries. The apartment was located behind the main street of Kings Cross and was very quiet considering central location and nightlife. I would absolutely stay there again and recommend to anyone else!!!!
The first floor two bedroom apartment came with an external courtyard which was excellent as we seek accommodation that does not 'koop us up inside'. I was aware of the rooftop courtyard and was prepared to use this when I booked. The courtyard attached to the room was an added bonus.
Staff pleasant & helpful. Terrace was good - Bar-b-que ran out of gas and spare was available which was good. It is hard to check gas for bar-b-que so having spare on hand was excellent. Has clothes laundered and charged for no worries but did not know had laundry available in house until later
