I had booked this property and then had to change plans. After speaking with the staff at the property, all were very professional and understanding about the changes needed, we had our needs met. Thank you to the stff at the property. We didnt stay but I had great experiences talking with the staff. Thank you.
Location to Olympic Park and ANZ Stadium was very good. A 10 minute walk to the Olympic Park railway station. Neat, clean and tidy good continental breakfast available each morning. Staff friendly and happy
1. The overall facility and service is no more than 1 star 2. On checkin, staff had to be asked of services provided rather than being told. Wifi availability was not even conveyed. 3. Room was like a 'pigeon hole' - small with hardly any space to move. Toilet and shower were very compact. Shower head was ineffective. 4. No phone in the room. Call made from mobile to hotel was directed to a recording message. 5. Whilst mattress was good, the pillows were not. Only 1 pillow provided per person. 6. Breakfast was very basic and there was no designated staff; reception staff manned both. Had to ask them for milk, etc. Coffee and tea were poor quality. 7. On checkout, no bill was provided until asked for - on a later inspection, I was charged for breakfast for 2 persons on the day of checkin even though I arrived at the hotel late in the evening of 13 Sept. Whilst the overcharged amount is $18.00, this is simply not good enough. 8. The hotel took advantage in charging high rates for 4 of the 5 days stayed - charging $287.10 for each of 2 nights and $215.10 for each of a further 2 nights - an average of $251 per night for a very budget hotel facility ! 9. Overall, a disgrace to the IBIS brand name and my worst hotel experience in my many years in Australia. IBIS should very seriously reassess its brand reputation by having a low budget hotel using its name. Qantas would never do this and thus the Jetstar brand name. It's CEO should reflect on this !! Would I use any IBIS hotel again ? Not after this experience. Am sorry to be frank and truthful as my wife and me feel let down by the experience despite being an ACCOR member.
We were attending Athletics at Olymp[ic Park. Great room location right over the road from venue, short walk up to restaurants etc at night. was able to park the car and leave it until ready to depart. the gentleman we dealt with on check in was very friendly and helpful with directions. I would definetly stay at Ibis Budget again when in the homebush precinct
Last minute booking as we came for a concert at Qudos bank arena, location is easy to find check in process was fast and friendly, an extra $15 for parking that is secure. The room is smallish but well set out, clean towels and linen provided a hand towel would be good aswell! The bed was very comfortable and spacious had a great sleep 😊 the shower was great with instant hot water. Block out blind was great. Kettle and coffee/tea making available. Plus a small fridge. Very easy walk to restaurants 600m away some good choices available. The shower door got stuck when opening and closing and air con was a little noisy. Advised reception about these issues upon check out and was told maintenance would be notified. Would stay here again happily.
I stayed for 2 nights. The first day I made a coffee in the disposable cup and did not finish it. After the room was cleaned the next morning the half full cup was still there. The carpet had stains in it and there was a large cobweb from the TV to the wall. When I checked out early on my last morning it was obvious I had waken the guy at reception. Later in the week I found out I had been charged twice for parking. The car park is very small and was full on both nights so I was lucky I checked in early. It is the cheapest of Motels in the area but still not worth the money.
I booked one night's accommodation in a family room for my son and I so he could attend an athletics event. Before our trip, I decided we would stay another night in Sydney so I got online to check the rate - most online booking sites were showing a family room for $166. I decided to book by phone so that I could arrange to stay in the same room so we didn't have to move. The lady proceeded to tell me a whole heap of garbage about these sites not including taxes (although the sites show you to tax amount included) and told me the best she could do was $229. We debated for a bit. She then miraculously had a King room become available and she could do this for $189. Needless to say I didn't book. This decision did not disappoint as the room was the size of a shoebox with a shower curtain for a bathroom wall. Thank goodness it was just my son and I staying in there as a family of four would surely run out of oxygen... or kill each other due to lack of space. The next morning whilst we were getting ready between 8 and 9am, housekeeping came to check when I was leaving... not once by mistake, but deliberately twice!! This was despite checkout being at 10am. There is only one good thing about this place and it was the exit door.
We travelled 5 hours to stay here for kids sports... with a shower separated to the bed by a curtain it was interesting! And having to park down the street a few blocks away because the car park for the Ibis was all taken wasn't very convenient! Think next time I'd spend a bit more to be family friendly and comfortable. The only plus is that it's a stones throw away from the sporting venue we need!!
Price is what you pay, Value is what you get... $159 for what amounted to student accommodation was not good enough. Accor Hotels dominate Olympic Park, and while Ibis Budget is half the price of the Pullman, the Pullman would be at least twice as good. No shampoo for the shower. Don't understand why at $159 per night, can't get basics like toiletries right.
It's the closest I have stayed to a match venue. Ibis Budget Olympic Park is a stone's throw from the main entrance to the ANZ Stadium which suited me perfectly. The other workings of the motel / hotel was to be expected, tight cramped budget conditions is I paid for. But the main reason I chose to stay here was for easy access to the Stadium and it was perfect for that. The downside is the price. Budget Ibis is not exactly Budget in price per room. That is if you are staying in a multi-bed room by yourself.
