Stayed in Sydney for 2 days for business, and found this a lovely place to recover from the jet lag and launch to my meetings. It's in a cozy little neighborhood with plenty of restaurants, cafe's and shops within easy walking distance, as well as an easy walk to Coogee Beach area. Room decor was beautiful, spatious, and comfortable, as was the bathroom. My only drawback was how.slow.the.internet.was. For a business traveler trying to skype and do other heavy need internet, it was quite a slog. That said, the property was so nice, I'd push through it again for a short stay.
A lovely building and location. Room beautifully designed including artwork and garden balcony. Welcoming and peaceful. Handy to bus and restaurants and to the local beaches such as Coogee. We always enjoy staying here.
We have just stayed for the second time. The first time was a king superior room which couldn't be faulted. This time we stayed in the Garden Double Room which was a bit smaller and not quite as modernised but was a quaint little step back in time. The bed was very comfortable, the room was very quiet and warm (middle of winter and an extreme wind event) and the shower was bliss. Good water temperature and hot, hot water. The room was very clean and mini kitchen well equipped. For the price we found it very good value. Will definitely be booking this lovely hotel when in Sydney again.
This was our 2nd stay at this beautiful boutique hotel. Always a pleasure and such a great location with cafes and restaurants all within walking distance. A day at the races and a $10 taxi fare back or you could just walk. Will definitely stay again.
This is a beautiful Boutique Hotel thats was once a family home or should I say Mansion. It has been lovlingly restored and has keep it charm and style. It has the original owners intials carved on the stair rail and on the cornices in some rooms. Our double room on the ground floor was clean, spacious and warm. Its conveniently located to POW Hospital and the main street, Belmore Rd where there's lots of cafes and shopping. Numerous Bus stops to the city or other beach side suburbs. Bus #372 goes from Railway square (Central) to Coogee. Highly recommended this hotel if you appreciate historical homes and charm
Stayed here for a week while my daughter was competing in a dance competition as it was an easy walk to NIDA. Cosy room with good, basic kitchenette facilities of fridge, microwave and tea and coffee supplies. The short history of the hotel in the visitors book was also interesting and added to the charm of the place. Staff were friendly and called me on the day of arrival to confirm my stay and assured me that they would keep reception open should my flight be delayed.
One bit stopover due to hospital visit. Close enough to walk to prince of wales hospital. Plenty of restaurants around and bus to city. Rooms were clean and no noise. Friendly staff who gave us a local area map and pointed out bus stops etc. will definitely stay again if the need arises.
Once you manage to drag your bags to whichever floor you are on - there is no lift, just quaint narrow wooden stairs with a balustrade reminiscent of colonial times - the huffing and puffing is well worth it. The rooms are beautiful in all ways - furniture, flooring, accessories. The area is beautiful too, so grab you camera and walk around and admire. A park in front of the hotel is a great place to relax in the morning sun. Foodie? Ten minutes walk takes you into the heart of Randwick's munch empire :-) Close to UNSW and hospital. And the owner is really nice.
Avon mode is in the heart of randwick but on a side street. Immediately across the street is a lovely park where the locals play on a sunny day. The building is historic and the decor of the family suite matches the historic setting. Our room was spacious, comfortable and very quiet. Best of all the shower had don't water limiter so nice hot and plentiful water. Staff were great and very helpful.
Ideal location to public transport in to the city or The Junction or beaches. Quiet location. Clean and friendly. Not cheap but nicer than a big corporate hotel. Would choose Avonmore for Eastern Suburbs accommodation again.
