Convenient walk to Allianz Stadium, it was clean, very quiet and very friendly service. We got 10% of food and drinks at great little pub next door. Location had good eating places. Thanks, we'll be back
I recommend the hotel for solo travelers. It is a small room with a tiny, however very efficient, bathroom equipped with hair dryer, shampoo and conditioner, and good thick towels. The bed is very comfortable with dimmer switch lighting above the bed (nice touch). There are 4 pillows, which is great, but all the same. A bonus is the windows open and if too hot out there the air con is very quiet. Room is clean, newly appointed colourful cushions and drapes. Room has a mini fridge (not bar). Exceptionally well stocked assortment of teas and instant coffee, including hot chocolate. They even throw in a few small chocolates and tiny biscuits. There is a corner desk and chair and a second chair. TV is fine. Wifi is excellent. I'm at the back of the building overlooking the pool and Oxford street traffic not bothersome from back here. The area offers fun window shopping. Lots of nearby restaurants. Bus right outside the door. I spent 3 nights here. Not sure I would stay again, as I personally prefer being close to train station, but the hotel was booked on my behalf and I'm not complaining. Friendly staff.
Had to be a week extra in Sydney for pasport loss. It was a small room but it was a cheap deal so did not expect much. They had a garden and a pool and fitness! Perfect if you dont like cities and spend a lot of time in the hotel! They even had bikes! Perfect to go to bondi beach by bike. The owner was also really good to us and gave us great tips! Great staff too. Thanks for the stay! Appreciated!
We arrived into town late on an emergency for the hospital close by. They had no room available but the service & help given to us by the evening receptionist was just excellent. The man , possibly French, was so helpful . He eventually managed to help us to find a safe place to sleep & we were so grateful. Thankyou for your help. Well done.
I have stayed at this hotel seven times during trips from the UK over many years. It is conveniently placed in Oxford Street close to all amenities. The Central business area and Sydney Harbour are a short bus ride, or a longer but thoroughly interesting walk away. Bondi and Coogee are similarly just a short bus ride in the opposite direction. Has a slightly old fashioned feel but that is not a complaint. Laundry is a useful facility for travellers on tour. A very practical option for the traveller who is not seeking 5 star luxury.
I love this hotel. Perfect for games at the SCG. Central location on Oxford Street. Limited parking in the building but carpark at the hospital a short walk away. Pleasant staff, reasonable prices, clean, free wi-fi. The rooms are small but adequate in space. Includes a safe, tea and coffee making facilities, double bed, table and chair, separate chair, lift in building but with a few additional stairs. I have been coming here for years and am sure I will for years to come. Really wonderful staff. Recommended!
This is our second two week stay. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are a good size with all you need. WiFi and cable TV. Seriously we did not expect to find such a good hotel on Oxford Street in Paddington. The hotel is family owned and is adjacent to a Hotel/pub. So there is a food menu there and you receive a 10% discount on food and drinks. The hotel has an internal courtyard with a good sized pool which is amazing for this area. The ground floor is in the process of becoming an art gallery for the students of the UNSW Arts Campus which is just around the corner. By the way, the Arts Cafe in the University is wonderful. The walk to the city is about 12 minutes. There is a Bus Stop, on both sides of the street, very close. Yes the hotel is not a five star, but I just can’t fault it for a 3 to 4 star this close to Sydney. We will be back.
We like the location and the easy atmsophere of Arts Hotel as we like to be be near to Paddington and the Eastern Suburbs. Bus to city and Bondi Junction at the door and Kings Cross station about 15 minutes walk. Check in was great as got into room much earllier than we expected. No eatery in this hotel but plenty of places to eat close by. We stay here because it is handy location for us but don't book in if you are expecting a luxury hotel. Hotel only supplies large bath towels, not the small towels or flannel.
Located in the heart of Paddington , not far from Hyde Park, we got a renovated room on the 2nd floor which was quiet for a city room. Relatively spacious, good bed and a nice touch with L occitane amenities in the bathroom - shame the size of the bathroom is a little small ! Very friendly and knowledgeable staff
My wife & I stayed at The Arts Hotel in Paddington before & after I had surgery at St Vincent's Hospital. Our stay was enhanced by Mark at Reception who recommended a lovely restaurant to have lunch on our first day. It was a seafood place called Saint Peters & his other suggestions were equally as good. We had a room overlooking the pool & courtyard which proved to be quiet & very tidy & clean (#215). The inclusion of Cable TV channels was a bonus & the LOccitane bathroom products were excellent too. The Arts Hotel was for us a fantastic find for our stay near St Vincent's Hospital. Dhon
