Stayed here as part of business visit almost 10 days Apr-May. Checkin and check out is smooth. Very old construction and they TRY to maintain as possible as they can. LIft is noisy and smelling. Room in 2 nd floor is not good. Room in 4th floor somewhat good. In all cases, facing highway becomes more noisy and i could not sleep well in the night. Good thing is Gym and Guest laundry is working. Breakfast - same menu during all 10 days stay. They should explore some varieties. Check nearby hamption inn and towneplaza on varieties. Very good hot breakfasts in those hotels. No visible guides to tell about near by restaurant and shopping stores. ATM machine is inside this hotel, but be careful 3Dollar deducted as terminal fees. Free water bottle mentioned but no such placed, always empty in the storage. same way for coffee. Only morning we can find some coffee machine. Later nothing will be there. Good: Wifi, staffs
Stayed at this location because IHG was running a "points special" and the location was right off Route 295 heading south. It is not near Philadelphia (which was OK) and it is a "older style Holiday Inn". Very large and spread out. Greeting was nice but I did not receive the location that I requested. I asked for a quiet location, Not a room facing Route 295. A bus load of college kids were making noise too but finally settled down. Had a drink before dinner, wait staff were very nice. We had dinner at a excellent Mexican restaurant in Swedesboro. After using ear plugs we finally had a good night sleep. The room appeared clean and typical IHG decor. Check out was fine. The next day when at my daughters my husband was changing his shirt....his back was covered with bites all the way from his hair line to his waste. I called and wrote the hotel with no response. That was three weeks ago. So it is now time to write my review. As a Platium member, I am very disappointed.
Stayed here for the location to Philadelphia airport and a wedding. The staff were all very friendly. Lobby area was very large with nice areas to sit and chat with cookies and coffee provided. The breakfast buffet had a good selection of prepared items. Rooms were nice size and clean with no smells. Complaints....the rooms are dated and wallpaper has come loose in a couple of places. The A/C unit is the old through the wall unit, functional but noisy...
Spend 7 nights in this hotel. Its clean with a comfortable bed and charming/helpful staff. All meals, especially breakfast are very good, and tasty. The oval bar is a good centre piece to the hotel. The air-conditioning units in the rooms work but are very noisy, you couldn't have these on at night. The large bedrooms, whilst clean do need a refresh on the décor.. its dated.
For the last 10 years I have spent a significant amount of time traveling around the U.S. Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express used to be my go to hotel of choice. I usually spend very little time in the room and I just needed a clean, quiet room and a decent breakfast. After a couple sub par Holiday Inn's I changed to a different brand. This past weekend I went back to trying a Holiday Inn because it was the host hotel for an advent I was attending. Pros Staff: Friendly, smiling, helpful Location: Quiet, out of the way, pretty location, nice to see trees out the window. Lobby: Very nice! Lots of room to sit down! One of the biggest assets of this hotel. Cons: Rooms: 1st room was very musty/moldy smelling. I am allergic to mold so this was a problem. Front desk quickly moved me and the next room was better except for the sink in the bathroom did not drain and the curtains had a big hole in them. I didn't bother mentioning it to the front desk because I was trying to control my allergic reactions to the mold in the first room. I was hoping that this hotel would give me a reason to go back to the Holiday Inn brand but sadly it didn't.
We went here for my 50th Class Reunion. Our Reunion Committee booked quite a few rooms for anyone wishing to stay before and after the actual Reunion. Quite a few people did end up staying here. The name was a little confusing to us at first we thought it was in Philadelphia but after arriving we asked the desk clerk and they said it's because it's not too far from Philadelphia but is in New Jersey. They said they usually get the overflow of people who can't find hotels in Philly like at the Democratic National Convention which was held a couple of months before. Now after asking it made sense. We were greeted by the desk clerks very pleasantly. We arrived a day early and were able to receive the discount rate for the reunion on that day and the day of the reunion which was really nice because it was only a little over $100+ each day because they reserved the large block of rooms. After check-in we went to our room, it was very nice not too big but a good size for us. After checking in we went downstairs and the bar was open so we had a drink and while we were there we happened to see some of my old classmates, which was so fun. We all sat around a good size table and reminesed about our high school days, people we knew, etc.. We had so much fun, because for me it had been 50 years that I had seen any of them. The next night was the reunion and the hotel did such a Great Job of serving beverages and had the food in a different room for you to get when you were ready. The food was Excellent, there were several main dishes to choose from and the sides were plentiful and later the dessert. The whole meal was absolutely Delicious, Kuddos to the Staff and servers. The whole experience at the Holiday Inn Philadelphia South-Swedesboro was outstanding. We ended staying a couple of days and with our stay we had breakfast. A BIG shout out to Candace who had 4 different groups of people to serve and no help & hardly anyone was leaving a tip. Also at the bar we were there several nights a shout out to Luis very good drinks, also Tina & Evelyn. Our whole experience at this hotel could not have been better. Stay and give it a try the people are Outstanding and I think you will like it as we did.
This was a great hotel 8 yrs ago when we stayed for a wedding. We stayed again this week and we were a little disappointed. We stayed a few days and it was ok but needs updating. We also had a terrible time with internet. And the heater was loud so you have to raise volume when it's on and lower it when it's off. The bed was very comfortable , that was the best . The staff and breakfast was also good. So , that being said , I just wouldn't stay here more then a night or two.
Stayed for two days. My room was very good; sizeable, clean and comfortable. All amenities worked well, bathroom clearly sanitary and plenty of towels, etc. The staff were all very cordial and helpful. Stayed here a few years ago and have to admit that comments about the shabby condition are a bit extreme. The place could be upgraded but it would not change the quality of the rooms or the staff. The only caution I have is regarding the restaurant, which was once good enough that you did not have to go out to eat. This time, not good. Had the Fish and Chips for my dinner the first evening. The fish was fresh but the oil literally dripped out of the breading (oil was not hot enough and the fish was not drained before plating up.) O.K., so no more dinners but try breakfast. Ordered eggs over medium - the outside was dark brown and one yoke had been broken and was hard. No self-respecting chef would permit that to be served. The wait staff did not charge me for the breakfast.
It a was a great stay especially the the staff very kind, professional, and well mannered. The rooms were very clean although dated, they had new amenities. I had nothing negative to say about this stay other than, I wish breakfast didn't cost money
I have staedy here on business three times as this is where the salesman I travel with choses to stay. However, next trip I'll have him drop me off at the hotel next door. I'm a big fan of IHG and stay there whenever possible. However, this place is so subpar that I can't do it again. Coffee is like water, the "instant" eggs seemed to have been mixed with much more water than usual as they were dripping wet. The room is dated and has the old style heater/air conditioner with no thermostat. The only controls are low heat, high heat, low cool, high cool and off. If you want to work at the desk, hot or cold air blows right on you even at low speed. I spent most of the evening turning on the air while away from desk and shutting it down anytime I had to work. Also, incredibly loud if you want to run it while you sleep. The second night of my stay, the internet was out all evening and still out in the morning. They did not offer me any compensation or reduction in the bill and I had to request my Platinum "welcome points"
