InterContinental Suzhou

Had visited the same hotel in Beijing and expected kind of the same in Suzhou but rooms were less spacious and the same for the breakfast. Especially annoying was the fact that we could not have breakfast with buffet due to a very large group of chinese visitors and were dislocated to the lobby area where the food was definitely less good and much less choice. Very conveniently located close to subway stations.

Spacious rooms with large king-size bed, nice location near Shopping district and Jinji-lake (tipp: get room with view on the lake). Breakfast: good / as IHG rewards member, you feel welcomed. Fitness Center: adequately equipped, SPA: ok / meals: ok.

The physical room and the hotel are excellent. The room specially is very comfortable with plenty of sockets for charging devices, comfortable bed and great shower. WiFi was excellent. The gym is very good. 5/5 The breakfast was included in my room and it is very good. Everything labeled very very well. Appreciate that even if lard was used to cook vegetables it was labeled. 5/5 What is making me give a lower rating is the human services. 2/5. One my IHG status was not acknowledged and I was not given an automatic upgrade. When I came back to the Ambassador desk, they offered me a Lake view room but i had already unpacked and didn’t want to pack up and move. Should have been done at check in even though I gave my IHG card. Second, unfortunately the concierge I dealt with didn’t speak English. I booked a tour for the morning. The concierge called me back twice trying to explain something but I couldn’t understand and he couldn’t speak English. I really don’t know what happened to the tour. 2/5

This hotel is the best you can choose in Suzhou. Service is excellent, and room is superb. The restaurants are pretty good for lunch and dinner with several options on buffet and a la carte. Breakfast buffet is excellent, with western and asian options. Ask for lake view when you check in, it is worth as view is spectacular.

Greeted every morning and evening by the friendly and helpful hotel staff. The room that I stayed in was amazing. Lake view, comfortable bed, lots of space in the room and stocked with everything you would need- bottles of water, toiletries, robes, slippers, iron, etc. Great rain shower (and handheld option) and beautiful tub. Plenty of space to get ready. Room was very clean upon arrival, and room was cleaned every day that I was there. Beautiful views of Jinji Lake and The Pants across the lake. Head up to the 27th floor for a drink at the bar and excellent picture perfect views! We enjoyed an appetizer and drinks as we were in awe of the view. Enjoyed the large lounge area on the first floor and great service there. Also enjoyed the restaurant Riva- great steaks and seafood. We walked into Xiu Chinese Restaurant, but chose not to eat there because of the cigarette/cigar smoke. The breakfast buffet was the best I’ve had in Suzhou and Shanghai. Lots of American and Chinese options, and great service from the waitstaff. Check in/check out was fast and easy. I really enjoyed my stay at the Intercontinental, and recommend it to everyone. Next time I’m in Suzhou, I will definitely be staying here.

Interconti is ever meets very high demands. This time I had the corner room with two wall windows: one to the lake, another is to the city. Breakfast is very good even in compare with other IHG hotels). Fresh cucumber and watermelon juice, local and european food on very high level of quality. I had one very very and very big problem: the outside view was so great that I cant sleep at all not to lose a minute)))

I frequently stay at this Intercontinental when I visit the city. The rooms are ultra clean and well maintained (unlike some Marriott properties), the view in every direction is great (specifically the lake view in case you are given the choice). There are multiple restaurants and bars within walking distance as well as an extravagant shopping center across the walkway. There are multiple restaurants in the hotel itself which range from a pretty decent buffet to a steakhouse in case business guests are present.

I am a business traveler visiting Suzhou China few times a year. The one Hotel I keep coming back to is the Intercontinental Suzhou. This is a 5 star beautiful hotel with great facilities and great staff. The rooms are big and nicely designed, very modern and at the same time cosy. You have nice view from all sides and all rooms of the hotel. Breakfast is rich, tasty and perfect. They have a very good fitness center and a lap swimming pool at the Hotel. There is also a nice bar at the lobby. The location is great, right at the HiTech business center of Suzhou and on the lake front. Very nice indeed and very comfortable. Metro is a short walking distance. The metro by the way is clean and very efficient. They also have a sky bar where you get access for extra charge or if you are a VIP guest. The rates of the hotel are good relatively to the level of service. I have been there many times and I will keep coming back.

Really good location, superb view, the restaurant is very good and within the walk distance to shopping mall and amusement park, the night view also great ,I’m so in love with the service and I’ll be here again for sure

Located away from the center of Suzhou in SIP (it takes more than 30 minutes by subway or car to reach it), this hotel is located on the lake shore and offers fantastic view on that lake. Rooms are extremely comfortable - the nicest ones even have a large bath tube in the room - the indoor pool is large and offers a great view on the lake/city, breakfast is excellent. Good service from all the staff. Only negative point is the high prices changed for services: a cocktail on the top floor goes for 35 US$ (and we were thrown out after 30 minutes because it was closing down!), a transportation by car is 10 times for expensive than a cab... Considering that this is one of the most expensive hotel in Suzhou, it is not completely surprising, but still...
