Don’t get me wrong, the hotel isn’t bad... It just doesn’t look like a 5-star hotel Rooms are big and clean, but nothing special Staff is nice Location is very good Breakfast is average. I have had much better breakfasts in other places I visited in Germany and Austria... Again, not bad, but nothing more than enough!
This looks like a business style hotel. However, I was there on vacation with my wife and I felt it was a great hotel with excellent amenities. The rooms are clean and well appointed. If and when I go back, I'll be staying here again!
Many European hotels have a hot water pot and instant coffee in the room. This hotel does not, and it is difficult, impossible, to get a cup of coffee early in the morning other than the breakfast buffet. But if you not interested in the buffet, which is somewhat expensive, there is no other option to get a cup of coffee.
We stayed here for four nights during a stay in Stuttgart. We were looking for somewhere relatively luxurious, but not hugely expensive. The hotel is well situated near the main train station, and Konigsstrasse shopping street - also the main walking atery of the city. Schlossplatz is a short walk away too. We checked in early, around 11am, but were told the room would not be ready until 3pm, which was fine, as we left our luggage anyway. On returning at 3pm, we were told the room still wasn't ready, and asked to wait. Asking again at 3.30pm, still no joy. We were tired and wanted to go to our room. At 3.45pm, we asked again and finally it was ready. After getting to our room, we found that we had been upgraded which was a nice touch. We had a mini suite with huge comfortable bed, seating area, but bathroom, and walk-in closet. The fitness area and pool are excellent, and the bar area small, bit comfortable. Breakfast choices were extensive, and very nicely cooked. Both hot and cold dishes were served. Staff were very friendly, and helpful. We would stay again.
Having stayed in many places and dont need to talk about room conditions or cleanness of the hotel (Zero reason to complain/criticism about anything). The warm welcome and truely heartwarming through the entire Hotel Staff. Am just full of compliments and positive impressions. It is for me definitively fix point and wont stay in different Hotel when am back in Stuttgart. A jewel you dont find every day! Thanks to the entire crew at the Steigenberger!
We just came as walk in, on the way to Munich, price very dear, C/I ok, but not warm and welcoming at all. rooms average, bathroom small and not up to 5 star, only a shower, huge problems with humidity, seems like the aircon not works very well, room it self large, internet absolutely bad, complicated log in and slow with ongoing drop out.had drinks in the bar before dinner and after dinner at city, both times service pretty good, in particular a very young man, seem s to be in charge, excellent . However for a wine region , limited selection of open wines & nothing regional at all. Tried the pool water way to cold, for sure not the displayed temperature. next morning breakfast, have to say very very good, service and buffet, old grand hotel style, highly recommended. C/O one of the worst I ever had, first had to wait, staff wasn't busy but believe its a good idea to ignore the waiting guests. than I to obverse an argument between a agent and Middle Eastern female guests, I almost want to step in, so badly the guest was treated by the FO agent, my bill was in correct, no farewell or thx at all, no offer to help with the bags, the car was brought up by valet however parked in the heavy rain, without any help again for the bags, I just went back to the FO and complained, but seems like they don't care, never again Steigenberger anywhere, must say its seems like F&B runs very well but everything else its really bad managed
Beautiful hotel in the center of everything. Cannot recommend it more highly. Excellent location across from train station. We used this as a base for touring the world famous museums of Porsche and Mercedes Benz. Breakfast was amazing. Service was excellent.
Clean, convenient to trains and has parking available. Has a small but sort of pricey breakfast buffet. Overall a good place to sleep. Wi-fi is no good though. Should be better for what you pay to sleep here.
We stayed one night at this hotel. The check-in was very friendly and efficient and they offered a free upgrade to a deluxe room. The room was very spacious. There was a sitting area and a walk in closet. The bathroom had two sinks and a comfortable shower. The housekeeping was very fast when we ordered an additional towel. There is a nice spa on the top floor with an Asian inspired pool, a sauna, a steam bath and a fully equipped gym. After a wonderful sleep, we enjoyed the breakfast buffet with some traditional german specialties and a nice selection of organic food. The hotel is close to the shopping street, the palace and some of the museums.
Everything was perfect but one thing! Wifi It is unacceptable in 2018 for a hotel like this one to have such a problematic internet connection You have to connect almost every time you come back to the hotel which also requires a certain process that takes time The worst part though is the actual speed . . it literally takes for ever to just open a page !
