My husband and I spent a little over a week at this hotel. The staff were helpful. The room was clean. The location is great with some walking, which we enjoyed. The only issue was the Wi-Fi. It was a huge issue for me. While my husband was working during the day, I planned to work in the room. The brochure says they provide free Wi-Fi, but it was awful. I couldn't stay connected. Then I paid for the premium Wi-Fi and had issues getting the regular connection to stay up long enough to connect to the premium. The staff didn't seen to know enough to be helpful. It was better in the afternoon but it got harder when the evening arrived. I assume because there were more people trying to access. A co worker was on the 8th floor and was able to access Netflix for free while I couldn't work on the 6th floor even after paying.
Just my opinion Stuttgart being an industrial area seems to attract more business than recreational visitors. Hotel is old - i think it used to Renaissance. Rooms are spacious, clean. Train station at the doorstep of the hotel. Also bus service as well - so easy access to public transport. Noise levels - we stayed on 11th floor so didn't hear noise from passing by trains when windows were closed. One night we couldn't close the window and honestly there weren't much noise. Well not many trains pass by at night. Staff ok which is why I think hotel is suited for business travel - do ur business in and out. Not much guest service for tourist. Parking is basement garage and is €16 for the stay. There are parking on the streets - not sure how that works. Breakfast - was good. Pancakes amazing.
The room is well organised, place to put your luggage, cupboards, bathroom with bath and shower, big mirrors, well equiped. Breakfast presents all what one like to have. Only the scrambled eggs are dry, like carton, not at all creamy. Diner is very good but the menu when you go every week during several months is not changed regularly.
I have been trying to stay in this hotel for quite sometime but somehow the rate is above my limit, so one time, during the weekend the rate kind of match my limit so we book this hotel. the front desk is really old-fashion luxury 4 star hotel, so big and so grand, the service is top notch from the front desk but somehow forget to tell me that the parking cost 16 euro per night which is a bit of expensive. the room is OK for 4 star, the toilet and bath robe, this hotel have a swimming pool. SO everything is okay, we have a good sleep and one thing that still stuck me as being odd, this hotel still using the old key that really heavy.
stayed here for 2 days on business. very nice. quiet. i was on 12th floor with amazing view.... but if you have kids, don't get that, not safe. NO railing, no nothing. you open window, it's open... except for about a foot security glass protector (from the bottom of the window) that is not removable. my room had a tub, which i really appreciate. others from my group didn't. so if you care for that, ask for it. bed was comfy, and good wifi. they gave us free wifi. right by train station if you care about that. we simply walked to Galleria (short walk) which is like American shopping center. nice food court in there. remember, they all close rather early. a lot of places close on sunday too. put in google map the following for a great bakery. great hours, nice seating. Sehne Backwaren KG, Hauptstraße, Stuttgart enjoy your stay!
Excellent hotel in Stuttgart-Vahingen, directly at the S-Bahn station, only 10 min far away for the city centre. The best breakfast in quantity and quality, the best coffee and an excellent restaurant. Very comfortable rooms, great spa facilities, simple the best address in Stuttgart.
I have stayed in Pullmann Fontana Hotel in periods 03.2014 to 11.2014 It was my best choice in Stuttgart area. Great rooms with bathroom. Excellent SPA and pool area. Good price/ quality ratio. I would like to recommend this hotel. Great location and food.
The hotel is very nice and so is the room . Being so close to the train and bus stations is an advantage to some travelers but to those who like to take their car, it isn't an advantage at all. If you like to open a window in the room, and even with a closed window, you'll be exposed to a constant noise during daytime and most of the night. and most of the night.
I've travelled to the Pullman Fontana five times. Always a pleasure. Friendly, competent, courteous staff. My home away from home. Best breakfast imaginable. Clean, quiet. Convenient location. Taxis, rail, bus transport right outside the front door.
The Pullman pulls off something I see often as I travel for work - They have all the right pieces put can't seem to put them together effectively. This puzzles me every time I see it and my experience at the Pullman is no different. For the executive prices they charge the hotel should operate much better. They have a great restaurant, great access to public transportation, proximity to a park, modern & well maintained facilities, a great pool/spa, trained professional staff, etc. Each of these is very nice when when right in front of you but when I step back and examine the operation as a whole it is disjoint and unaccommodating. Here's why. The ironing boards is low hanging fruit that many have complained about. The furniture in my room cost something like 5,000 Euro - give me a 20 Euro iron PLEASE! The staff is very knowledgeable and responsive but if you don't know to ask they aren't going to tell you. Basically they are efficient and friendly but only helpful if you request helpfulness. Proximity to public transportation is very good but nearly every place in Germany is in close proximity to public transportation. The train station beside the Pullman is loud, shabby and make the hotel appear to be a professional building located beside a freight yard. There is a park across the street but it is less than a city block in size, criss-crossed with paved lanes and surrounded by significant roadways. There is no solitude there. Additionally, this is Germany where there are nature paths nearly everywhere making the Pullman's proximity to a 'park' somewhat ridiculous. The decor, facilities and structure are well maintained but, again, this is Germany where everything is well maintained making this an expectation rather than an exception. I don't think the people buying decor for the various pieces of the hotel talked to each other; thematically it has a department store feel when you walk from room to lobby to restaurant and realize you've gone from contemporary, to corporate to rustic as you change locations. It creates a corporate yard sale impression. Many of the solid reviews for the Pullman are from Americans who, honestly, just don't know they can do better staying at a Gasthaus five miles away and are enamored with the Pullman's Marriott-like corporate style. Fine; I know lots of people who roll that way. Overall, it's a nice hotel and my intention in this review is say it's good - not great - but sufficient. I stay here for business and my boss pays the bill. But the discerning traveler should ask, "What exactly am I getting for the five-star prices the Pullman charges?"
