The Room was big, clean, very well maintained and with very nice view. The decoration is very modern, nice restaurant, and with several shops just beside. I was there for a WS from the office and the service was very good. The reception was very helpful and quick.
Well what can I say, well we stayed in a junior suite which was adequate, did it have a wow factor NO, it was a very basic suite, it was a good size, it had two massive TV's well massive for hotel standards easily 55 inch which frankly was over kill but I am sure that would please some. Very basic bathroom but functional. Our room was warm we had no problems with the heating and I suffer terribly from being cold but we had no problems at all. Sadly missing tea and coffee making facilities but does boast a mini bar that is free, however whilst I like the idea the reality was poor, it had 1 of each drink in, which were beer, water still and sparking, pepsi, apple juice and a sparkling fruit drink, which is OK but personally staying as a couple I would have like to have seen two of each drink so you could both enjoy a beer, and personal preference still water, I had hoped that when it was re stocked they would notice we only liked still and replace both as still but sadly no, but it was a different touch. We hired a car as we worked out getting taxi's would be costly but actually it would have likely been cheaper to get taxi's as the parking was 16 euro's a day, which I feel was excessive, we have NEVER paid for parking in a hotel before and it would make me think twice about staying here again. The bed was comfortable, lacked pillows but on request we were given two additional pillows as you only get one pillow each. The corridors were like hospital corridors dark and dirty, nothing brightening them up, this hotel really needs some finishing touches, they have spent money on think's like mood lighting but no coffee making facilities. The TV's were great but we are from the UK which meant we had the choice of news or sport to watch, eventually we realised we could watch the on demand but really would have just liked a short programme to watch after a long day instead of a film, but again personal choice. The hotel is massive and has several food outlets non of which we ate at, although on our first night we did go to the irish bar where they had live music and we had a burger which was adequate not fabulous but OK. I think thats about the size of it really whilst this hotel offers lots e.g. spa, casino, etc it does all of them OK it hasn't done anything fantastically. The hotel has lots of extras but none of which seem well thought out, it really could be a smashing hotel. The staff were all good, the ones we dealt with were professional and quick at what they done. Location is great about 6km from Stuttgart city about 3.5km from the airport, and about 20 minutes from the outlet city which is well worth a visit. I think for what we paid it was over priced, whilst we had a large room it didn't offer any of the luxury that you would expect from a junior suite, no nice view, no extra facilities just a big room with an extra TV.
Despite the warm reception when we checked in and the humorous and quirky layout and notices in the room, this hotel has left us cold! Literally freezing cold! When we arrived in our room last night, it was colder than the corridor outside! Having run the heating system for an hour with no effect, we called reception to complain. An hour later we still had not heard from anyone and I decided to go down to reception personally to be told that the engineer would be sent up to check what was wrong. A porter came up 10 minutes later with 2 small heaters and promised that the engineer would come soon and that extra duvets would be sent up. Well neither materialised. When complaining about this again and demanding a refund for the night, the reception clerk explained that only the manager could approve this. As of 9am this morning, neither a manager or an engineer has made contact. What is not acceptable is that in a hotel of this star rating, no management staff were present. I can only assume that they are also out cold!
I have already spent well over 100 nights here over the last couple of years and mostly enjoyed my stays. But I see 2 major issues which they need to tackle: * staff * room condition (recently) Staff is not very well trained and I regularly have the feeling that I’m served by casual workers and not by full time hotel experts. Most of them can’t work the computer system which leads to looooong waits at check in/out during rush hours. This results in stress which ends up in frustration and unfriendliness of staff which is totally unacceptable from my point of view. They truly need to hire professional and well trained staff!!! The rooms are quite run down over the years and need urgent refurbishment. Just to give a couple of examples: the aircon/heating NEVER works properly ... in none of the rooms. Shower heads and valves are also a regular concern not to mention worn out mattresses and loose handles here and there. Non smoking rooms have clearly been used by smokers at some stage and they haven’t been properly cleaned which results in a room swap for me almost every time. :( The good side: I do enjoy the fresh concept with a modern entertainment system and decent free WIFi. Breakfast is also great. I will come back to this place ... but in the end only due to the lack of choice. Hope they can improve at some stage ...
Spent the night here in conjunction with a musical visit. Staff is very friendly. Rooms are adequate, some of the furniture is showing its age (leather rubbing off on the chairs), but still very nice. Giant TV with Sky and - best of all - all drinks in the minibar are free! Very nice touch. Bed is very comfortable, also each room has air conditioning. Breakfast buffet was nice, if somewhat pricey.
I spent 3 night in occasion of a summit for my company. We were almost 100 guests so I can imagine it was not easy to find a hotel that could host all. The hotel offers many different restaurants, but has a very small and poorly equipped fitness room. A pool is not available. The rooms have weird coloured lights. I would have invested more money in fitness and pool rather than crazy lights....
I booked two rooms for two night in the morning at 7AM, but unfortunately I had a very bad family emergency after 2 hours, and I had to cancel. I kept the room booked only for two hours, and I asked to find a compromise like paying only the first night. Instead the hotel charged me both nights! The rules were clear, and I wish that a similar situation will never happen to them. Insensitive!!!!
Let's begin from arrival. The exterior just gets one excited.it was my first stay in Germany. The decor and ambience is what you think and above expectations of a European hotel. Customer service was friendly and spoke English(bonus points) I had a room in the red wing and i loved it. I was in awe while walking the halls. Room was beautiful, clean and the bed waa calling my name. They had channels any foreigner would enjoy ( also in English language ) bonus points Let's FFW to my favorite part. BREAKFAST. I was beyond impressed with the selection. If i could I would have sat there and tried every option which was impossible. I cannot elaborate on it all. I loved everything and will travel there again juat to indulge in the breakfast extravaganza. There are taxis available outside( Mercedes of course ) to take you anywhere and you can also take the train which is conveniently walking distance from the hotel. You won't go two with experiencing the Dormero.
I spent three nights at the Dormero during a recent business trip. The hotel is very clean and comfortable. The bed was super comfortable and I loved the huge flatscreen TV. I was on the 7th floor so I had a nice view of the nearby Daimler World Headquarters and the surround area. The hotel is conveniently located a short distance from Stuttgart Airport. There are plenty of places to eat in and in the immediate area around the hotel. I found it very convenient that there is a tram stop right behind the hotel and the little town of Mohringen is three short stops away by tram. The staff at the front desk was professional and courteous. I liked the LED lighting in the rooms that could be customized. Also, a very nice bonus is that the drinks in the mini fridge in the room are - free!! Overall, it was a pleasant stay and I would stay here if I travelled back to Stuttgart.
Overall hotel looks good. Quick check in. There is a red wing and white wing. Sometimes it feels like a love hotel. The white wing rooms have quite a nice view and sunrise. Looking at Daimler office too, if you are a Merc fan. Book a night or two and you know what i mean. Mini bar drinks are free thats great. Breakfast have a good spread and it is very busy with guest. Oh there is a python at the hotel lobby. Try looking for it. Although located further away from the city. I had a good stay here for 3 nights. Overall a funky hotel I must say.
