do not book. the pictures look nothing like the real room. its so small. there is literally 1 ft of space around the bed, and you can not walk around it without hitting your shoulder on a wall mounted tv... staff was amazing, tried really hard, but its not worth the stay here... I never write reviews, but it was such a disappointment, I want to warn all the other ppl..
We really enjoyed staying at Frey's. Convenient location and right across the street is the Arlanda Express which gave us quick access to the airport.
We had an instant feeling of satisfaction when we saw our hotel which was very easy to get to from the train station. It's on a quiet lane, yet close to the heart of all the action in Stockholm. We liked that it was small and friendly. It also has a popular restaurant creating quite a lively atmosphere around the hotel. The room was welcoming and clean. We were very pleased with this choice.
My stay at the Freys Hotel was great. I was in town for a conference at the City Conference Centre and the location was great! Right across from where the Arlanda Express train arrives, and just a few blocks from the conference center. The room was a fine size - not too big or small - and was quite comfortable. There was a door for the bathroom, which was a plus. The staff at both the hotel and Belgobaren, the restaurants, were quite friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was quite good. We also hosted a one-day meeting in their conference rooms which turned out very well. Coffee always available, great snacks and lunch, and good wifi connection and presentation equipment. Overall a great experience and highly recommended.
Given the hotel's staff, location and value for the money, the Frey's Hotel Stockholm was a very good choice.
The staff were helpful and courteous at all times. The bed was more than adequate but no room or chair in which to sit. And typical European hotel, no washcloths.
Staff very helpful, great location and good service
We arrived at the hotel early in the morning and the guys at the reception were very kind to give us a room where we were able to get few hours of sleep. The problem was that the room had only 2 beds and we were 3 people. We were promised to get the third bed after we wake up. But instead of a sofa bed (which was on our reservation), they put a cot/roll away bed. They were trying to convince us that in Sweeden that type of bed is called sofa. Like we were stupid. Second day, when passing by a room with an open door we saw a double bed and a sofa bed and we asked at the reception to move us there. At the end they did it and in the evening the manager of the hotel called us to apologize and offered us an upgrade to a room with balcony. The other problem we had with the guys at reception was that they have no clue about what's happening in the city. They told us no City Hall tours are offered (not true). We wanted to go to Vasa and ABBA museums and asked them were to go to take tram 7. They did not know about the construction at the trucks and the changes of the route and sent us to a wrong place. Beside this things, the hotel is gorgeous. It is very closed to the train station with the connexion to the airport. It is cozy, with an excellent breakfast (much better than the one we get in North America) and a nice Belgium restaurant. The rooms are big when comparing with the European style. The hotel is in the walking distance to the old town, Royal Palace, Parliament, or City Hall. Very good hotel for the price we paid.
Very convenient location, clean, comfortable and quiet. Staff was very accommodating. Extensive breakfast options. Quite satisfied with our stay and would gladly return.
I've stayed here before so I was not surprised to have another great experience. Most centrally located hotels are not easy to get to the airport. This was both. And good food. And great people. And. And. And.
From Arlanda Express, this hotel is the first one you'll see. The staff is friendly and the food is great. They even offered to prepare a meal for me since I had to checkout before breakfast.
Convenient location, close to all amenities. Complimentary breakfast was just fantastic.
Frey's hotel has a great staff and a wonderfully convenient location. Attached to a restaurant and bar, breakfasts were close and delicious. My only 'complaint' - if you would even call it that - is that my expectation of the rooms was to be more updated, and I felt it was much more dated and not as aesthetic as I had assumed by looking at the pictures before our arrival. Besides the restaurant next door there wasn't much space to spend time in the hotel, which is fine really because who wants to go to Stockholm and stay in the hotel all day? I would stay there again!
It's only 1 long block to the central train station, which is terrific given that Stockholm is a public transportation and walking city. The room I had faced an alley with loud activities (emptying dumpster, guys working) but other than that it was fine. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was excellent.
Good location close to Central Station and with ready access to Gamla Stan and other areas close to old Stockholm. Easy access to lots of mass transit and museums as well. Staff is helpful and speak English. The rooms are pretty basic though. An old, lumpy bed. No forced air AC or fans. A tiny bathroom in which the "shower" is 2 plastic panels that fold out from the wall. If you are on the significantly larger size, I honestly don't think you will fit. Noise from the hall and neighboring rooms could be much less, but overall wasn't too bad. To sum up, location is great, value is good, but the room quality may be a bit low for people who used to nicer business hotels or accommodations.
Perfect location!!! Very nice hotel. Breakfast was good and tasty .
I liked the comfortable bed, but I felt the room was too small. I felt like, from the room, they were trying to sell me extra things. For example, there is a teddy bear on the bed you can buy, umbrella, a book, shampoo, body lotion, etc.
Very good location! Friendly staff, good breakfast, clean rooms..
all good. I wish they had a slightly more secure bell desk and hoped the restaurant would be open later but all in all very good.
Hotels are expensive in Stockholm, but the value varies greatly. Frey's is weak in value. My room was incredibly small and had a view of the delivery area. The breakfast was excellent, and the hotel is 1/2 block from the airport train... so good location. I later stayed at the Queens Hotel, where for about the same price, the room was twice the size and had an ok view of a roof top garden. Breakfast was less robust at Queens, but still good. Queen's is clearly the better value of the two.
