I stayed at this wonderful property for two days. I checked inn using the Marriott app I arrived early and to my surprise the room was ready and was upgraded to a premium room because of my platinum status. The was huge and very comfortable the toilet has a walk in shower with heated floors. Tv channels were really entertaining because in Sweden they don't dub movies or tv series everything was in English with Swedish subtitles. The resturant service complementary breakfast for platinum members . I tried it for dinner a couple of time and the food quality along with the service provided were exceptional. A little further out from the city center. I highly recommend it.
The hotel is nice, but the setting could be better. It's a bit far off from the city centre and situated next to a very busy street. However, they have done a great job in keeping the noise out. There's a big park close by as well as the lake Mälaren. There are a number of restaurants within walking distance in case you don't want to eat at the hotel. We didn't try the hotel restaurant for different reasons. The room was clean and nice, but lacked a make-up mirror. The staff was very nice. But I think there are better hotels in Stockholm to stay at.
Stayed for 3 nights in early July. We had a nice room, 6th floor overlooking a park adjacent to the hotel. Room was comfortable, clean and nicely furnished and quiet. Staff were attentive, helpful and friendly throughout our stay. It took us about 20 minutes to walk to the downtown area along a nice path opposite the hotel and along the water. This exits at their City Hall. From there another 15 minutes would get you to the center of old town just around the water and over a bridge We had the breakfast buffet and our three dinner meals at the hotel restaurant -Bjork. The food was excellent, from the buffet to the "swedish meatballs" to their cod fish classic, We enjoyed them all. Hampus or "Hampy" who looked after us 2 of the three evenings was great and a wonderful ambassador for the hotel. We enjoyed his pleasant helpful demeanour and efficient service very much! Local restaurant selection is limited. Although the "barge/restaurant" that was on the water mid way to City Hall was also fabulous for lunch. One point of interest is that this hotel is cashless. I wanted to pay some of my bill with cash but they don't accept it! Most of the country was/is as well for that matter. Would certainly recommend this hotel as a great place to stay as you visit this beautiful city and country and we would stay again should we ever return to Stockholm.
We stayed on the 8th or 9th floor and the room was very nice and had a good view. Hotel was clean, staff was nice and the staff let us know when our luggage came in from being lost on SAS airlines. Breakfast buffet was great and if you went hungry it was your fault and not the hotels because they had a great variety of food for everyone.
I've never panned a Marriott property before. As a lifetime platinum member, having stayed more than 1,500 nights at Marriott properties, I've always been pleased with the level of service. Until now. Ironically, I was mentioning to my travelling companion how this property exceeded the quality of any Courtyard in the U.S, so we decided to have dinner the hotel's restaurant, Bjork. We were greeted very warmly by the server and requested outdoor seating. She led us to the patio, but as she was looking for a table the maitre d stepped in between us and chastised her gracious employee in Swedish. She then turned to us and, quite curtly and extremely rudely, informed us there was a waiting list for outdoors and that we could sit at the bar or indoors. No other choice, take it or leave it. Clearly, seats were available and there was no line. Look, I can forgive poor food; that happens. But rude service should never happen, no matter if you're a first-time visitor of lifetime platinum. Her behaviour ruined an otherwise nice experience for us.
Excellent stay. If you want to be in the middle of everything, then maybe this is not the place for you. We are fond of using transportation, and calmness. It was so easy to get around, and the area around the hotel was nice. It was 12-15 minutes to Gamla Stan. (6 stops on the T- green line) The flybuss from Arlanda airport drops you off just a few minutes walk from the hotel. The rooms were clean, and the hotel was very modern. The staff was friendly, and the breakfast was very good. There is a fitness center that was pretty well equipped/ modern for a European hotel. There is a bar and restaurant inside the hotel. It was ok, but we ate most times in Stockholm before coming back to the room. We really enjoyed our stay.
Been to Stockholm twice in the past four months for business. Both times enjoyed staying at the Courtyard. The rooms are clean, the bar is easily accessible and the restaurant is very very good. The only issue I have with the hotel is the TV, at night I like to watch sports and there were not many channels to watch. At the end of my trip in July I brought the family up to Stockholm for a week and they really enjoyed the hotel (and the city). Next time I am in Stockholm I will be staying there and will also bring the family.
Rooms are quite big and clean, but the hotel can do better in terms of coziness and service. The minibar is not in the room, but there is a shop where you can buy goodies (indicated by the staff as substitute for the minibar) - but I went two times and there was no one to help or direct the purchase. Breakfast was nothing special. I had higher expectations, but I still give it an average rating because of cleanliness and position to the bus stop.
I stayed here for one night post-cruise with my mom. We took a taxi from the cruise terminal and the cost was 300 Kroner (about $35.00). As you can tell if you do your research, this hotel is not located in the city center and there aren't any tourist attractions nearby. However, the price is excellent (less than $100 per night) and there were several excellent restaurants within walking distance. It is five subway stops to Gamla Stan. As long as you are aware of the location before you arrive, you will be happy with the hotel. I made the reservation on the Marriott website and booked a pre-paid rate about three weeks before check-in. Nonetheless, my credit card was not charged until we showed up at the hotel. We arrived at 10am and the room was not ready yet, so we sat in the lobby for a while. The room was ready at 11am. Great! The bed was comfortable and the AC worked well in the room. There was only a shower stall in the room (no tub). The room was very clean. There are two desktop computers available on the second floor of the hotel for those who need computer access. WIFI worked great on my laptop from the lobby and room, though. We had an early flight out of Stockholm and could not eat breakfast at the hotel. However, the front desk clerk offered to pack bagged breakfast for us. We said, "yes," and two breakfasts were ready for us to take with us when we checked out in the morning. Recommended.
When I got in, found that there wasn't any toilet paper in the bathroom. The toilet seats were not cleaned well, could see stains etc. The floor was sticky and it was obvious that the cleaning was done very superficially. Opened the minibar and found that there were chocolate bar wrappers an half eaten chocolate bars. The staff at the reception were friendly and nice.
