Conveniently located to “downtown” shops/restaurants/bars. Shuttle bus stop outside for going to ski resort. Friendly staff. Older motel but well maintained (had just installed new cardkey door locks). Pet-friendly, as some guests had dogs with them. New building construction next door was only mildly disruptive and should be finished soon.

The front desk staff was friendly, but not very polished. Dressed extremely casual in hoodies and jeans. Neither on check in or check out did the front desk personnel exhibit any gratitude. Upon check out, I was not asked how my stay was or asked to keep the Nordic Lodge in mind the next time I am in steamboat Springs. The staff needs training.

Our room was cleaned out while we were out skiing. Our food in the tiny refrigerator was removed. Front desk denied that anyone had been in the room. Note that the room may look large in the pictures, but it is not. That said, the dressers were plenty large and beds very comfortable.

Some things to think about.
There was mold in the bathroom. Dust bunnies in the exhaust fan that set up shop in the 60's. The door barely locked.The shower control valve had a 1/4 inch between scalding hot and ice cold.We were only there for 2 nights. Location was good. But for the price point I think I would try somewhere new next trip.

The desk staff was AWESOME...super friendly and helpful! The room felt as clean as it could be but the biggest problem was the smell. We had to ask the front desk for Lysol it was so bad...not even sure what it was but it persisted the entire time we were there. Honestly, besides that all was good.
