Good place, need fridges, need updated showers, nice bar, need free parking

Convenient parking and near downtown restaurants, the Stonewall Jackson is the type of old property we like.

This was our first visit to Stonewall Jackson Hotel. The location is excellent and we didn't mind paying the parking fee. The parking garage is connected to the hotel and makes loading and unloading easy. Our room was spacious, clean, comfortable and construction free. Beds were good and the staff respected our request for a quiet room. We were able to walk to dinner which was a nice change from driving around at night trying to find a place to eat in the dark. I would recommend this hotel and return to it.

Have stayed here multiple times - rooms are very clean and comfy. Need to repair garage elevator - cold walk around a long block to get from garage to hotel

They’re still renovating but it’s really nice. Very quiet. Staff is friendly. My favorite in Staunton.

Always stay at the Stonewall Jackson when in Staunton. My only comment this time was the fact that the person on the desk was a little “dry.” Usually help is extremely personable!

Two overnight stay. On arriving back at hotel (late at night) for the second overnight I found the hotel room had not been visited for room clean and making of beds. Received clean towels within a short time from room service. However, the apology received was hardly sufficient to compensate for the error. I have stayed in this hotel previously and generally my assessment is very good. However, this kind of letdown in room service is not acceptable. There may have been a change in management from my last stay. An extremely disappointing experience when expectations are high.

The room had hair pins and rubber bands on the floor when we arrived, so cleanliness may be an issue. The hotel location is good for downtown activities, the breakfast buffet was good.

This is a very nice hotel. Clean and comfortable with a friendly and efficient staff. This is one of the few times that I slept very well on a hotel mattress. My only complaint is the breakfast buffet. It was adequate, but nothing special. I will stay there again, but probably won't eat in the restaurant.

We loved our room and exploring the lobby and mezzanine. It is a good value for comfortable elegance.

We've been to Staunton before and love the town and surrounding area. SJH is a lovely hotel walking distance to the town's night life and plenty of local food and shopping. As a romantic trip, the setting couldn't be nicer. This is a classic hotel. Not too large, but very well kept. Reminds me of sets from the 30's and 40's movies. Big comfortable bed in the room. Whatever happened to full length mirrors, though. Every staff member had a smile on his/her face and were attentive. We'll return when we're in the area.

Very pleasant with great atmosphere. Great Ambiance.

This was our second stay at the Stonewall Jackson, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Not only is the hotel itself beautiful and the staff very helpful, but we loved being able to walk next door for two plays at the American Shakespeare Center. We enjoyed our quiet night there and the delicious breakfast the next morning.

We had a lovely time at the Stonewall Jackson. I was disappointed in room size and design- it was not vastly different than what you might find at a Marriott, but it came at a much steeper cost. The staff, amenities, and location sold us on the hotel.

Love this hotel. You're pay the same or more at Hilton or Marriott and you won't get the same wonderful experience. It's never crowded because it's not on the Interstate. Yet it's only a few minutes from I-81 and just a few steps from historic downtown Staunton alive with small stores and restaurants. The beds are super comfortable and the rooms luxurious. Yes, I like it!

We enjoyed our Sunday night in this cute town at the historic Stonewall Jackson Hotel. The room was nice and very clean and the breakfast buffet was very good with fresh foods and fruit.

very polshed

My husband and I stayed at the Stonewall Jackson and were very disappointed with the rooms as they looked very different from the pictures. The room was musty and the overall room was disappointing.

We stopped for the night with our kids and dog. It was very quiet. The rooms were perfect for us and our needs. The town was very charming! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful.
