Guy Harvey Outpost, a TradeWinds Beach Resort

3.5 out of 5.0

Recent guest reviews

This is the second time we have been to the outpost. Very friendly staff, accommodating to adults and kids. Pool is a little small but the beach is right there and you can walk over to the Tradewinds and use their pools as well. If you have young children, especially in strollers we would recommend booking a first floor walk out. A little more expensive but totally worth it.

The staff is wonderful and the beach is beautiful

Fantastically amazing with a cherry on top! I loved it the beach was amaizng and tha cobanas were super comfy. The slide that you could bo over to the other resort and use was super fun and the line was always short and it went bye really fast when it was short aswell. We only stayed there for the last 2 nights of our vacation but it was just enough. And there was tons of nice restraunts around there aswell i loved to walk across the street to go to the Baskin Robins!

Hotel was nice but lacked many amenities like a decent coffee shop and large pool. Hotel could also use some updating. Lobby and room decor is tired and worn. That said, suite was roomy, staff was beyond friendly and helpful and beach was gorgeous.

Overrcharged for amenities not available for use. Noisy, foul odor like sulfur, construction.

Wonderfully appointed resort with nice amenities on site with even more down the beach at a sister resort. Great music at poolside bar in evenings, smores. Resort fee is mandatory and extra but covers a lot of benefits.

Front desk employees very sarcastic. The rest of staff very nice. Rooms have a set up that is not convenient. The kitchen is located in the hallway. Don't ever pay extra to have the kitchen is not worth it. Kids pool is very small and located next to the bar. The only good thing was that you could use the amenities pools and other attractions at the Grand hotel, that was were I took my kids to swim.

Very nice hotel, great stay. Only thing I didn't like what I upgraded to the oceanfront balcony sweet. The picture online made the balcony look like a balcony. When you opened the sliding glass door there was only a guardrail, no balcony. I probably would have stayed at a different hotel if I would have known that. Drinking coffee on the balcony watching the shore everymorning and sunset at night is nice.

Charged $450 in extra resort fees without warning. Took two days to replace a broken fridge. Inflatable water park wasn't available the whole week we were there. The rest of our stay was very nice. Wish we didn't have the hiccups along the way. Vacation shouldn't be stressful.

A little pricey on food but overall nice Overall will be back

The staff are terrific and the room size is good. The room was noisy though, on one side it was the bad cover band at the hotel next door and on the other side the guitar player from the hotel itself. The musicians shut down at 10:00 pm so it wasn't loud later into the evening. Besides that everything else was great and I would go back.

My kids had fun with all of the activities which of course were an ADDED fee but hotel needs renovation desperately!

Nice hotel. Most of facility amenities paid for are at sister resort. As with most resorts food prices are crazy but right on the beach, clean and staff was great. Wait staff was very friendly but twice had to track down someone so we could pay our tab. Overall, really nice and a pleasant stay.

Resort Staff was very friendly and helpful. Would like to return for another vacation.

Relaxing and comfortable. I loved my personal cabana on the beach and knowing it was reserved each day. My room was bright and cheery.

Rum fish grill = 4.5 stars - excellent menu with good customer service Hotel = 4.0 - Older hotel with fresh paint and a few updated features (lobby was nice), rooms need some work for the price, balcony super small in our double bed suite. Was able to upgrade room for $40 to include ocean view and kitchenette Beach bar = 3.0 BUT head to salty down the beach for knock out margaritas and live music all day Early check in was a breeze (1PM)

Outstanding staff- could not have been more accommodating.

The stay was awesome. We only had one complaint. At night, there where local bands that rocked out, which is fine...we just would have enjoyed it better if the rooms where a bit more sound proof. Everything else was wonderful. The people of this area where all helpful and pleasant. There where plenty to do.

Great time to visit end of August as it was slow and didn't have any problems using all the amenities. However there was some construction going on at trade winds so we couldn't use the trampolines or one of the pools. The rest of the pools are ninice though . All of the bars and dining options are awesome. The oceanfront suite was beautiful and well worth the price! All of the staff were very friendly. There is tons of stuff to do between both resorts and the ocean is super close. Had fun looking for stringrays and shells in the morning's. The private cabanas are so nice and set up for you after you reserve, which was easy to do the night before. Loved the huge slide and water park, my kids had a blast and so did I. Will defiantly be back

My boyfriend and I recently went on vacation to St. Pete Beach. We stayed at Guy Harvey Outpost, a TradeWinds Beach Resort and it did meet my expectations. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I would recommend family and/or my friends to stay there.

John, please accept my apology on behalf of the resort for not meeting all of your expectations. I apologize for the construction issues you mentioned, but we are currently in the middle of a renovation project that will conclude at the end of February to our north wings. I am sorry that some of our amenities were not available to you during your stay, as weather does play a major role with some of our beach/water activities. Chris Metro Guest Satisfaction Manager
