Very impressed with the food and service. Excellent! They catered for 30 of us and the 5 course meal was really tasty and the wines complemented all the dishes. Thank you to the staff. I thought I would not make the cheese course but it was irresistible.
It was many years since we'd been in Sheffield so this was something of a punt. Based on a recommendation from the University we opted for this hotel, and we weren't disappointed. The bedrooms are pleasantly furnished and there is plenty of comfortable seats in the public areas. The staff were very helpful, and booked us a taxi to get us to the university on time. There is plenty of grounds for children to run off energy and although there was a wedding on the Saturday, we weren't conscious of any noise. Peace and quiet and a well stocked bar. Perfect.
Kenwood hall stands in magnificent gardens and is quite impressive to look at. With all the space at their disposal, you would expect to find ample parking for guests -NO- turn up early or park in the street. My wife and I had a standard room which was of adequate size, well furnished and clean. The bathroom had seen better days, but everything worked and was mostly clean. Breakfast was of the usual standard (ie. OK) but the dinner menu was uninspiring and we dined in town. When we returned, the door key failed to work and we had to go to reception to have it reprogrammed we then found that our room had not been serviced. It seems that nobody from housekeeping is available out of hours, so were found some clean towels and hospitality tray supplies and made our own bed. Thereafter, the door key failed again and maid service had at least one failure each day. We have used many Best Western hotels in the past (But not BW Plus) and this hotel failed to meet the standard we have com to expect.
Arrived at 8pm on Friday but no parking left. Had to park on road outside. No air conditioning and window opening restricted so was super hot. Room overlooked from other rooms plus corridor so had to close curtains early. Shower almost unworkable - first shower took 20 mins as either scorching or freezing. Buffet breakfast but 40% more expensive if you don't commit 12 hours ahead. Oversll surprised this is 4* especially with no air conditioning in summer
This is a nice looking hotel in a very desirable area, quiet but very close to the city center, with parking and swimming pool/spa facilities.Very busy at weekends in Summer as popular for weddings-must look stunning on photos! Have stayed many times at Kenwood Hall as previously run by PH group, so booked a stay last week thinking things would be as good, if not better.Oh! Dear! Seems the only things that have changed are the prices...upwards.When booking a particular room, the price was considerably higher than our last visit and although with the previous company we had a discounted rate we were told a number of their rooms had been up-graded which explained the price increase. On checking into our usual room we found no changes at all...in fact we thought the room really was in need of a refresh as it was looking tatty. So Best Western you need to upgrade yourself and not just your prices. We will stay again but will be looking for a much better deal from the company and hopefully some refurbishments!
We were guest at Kenwood House for a lunch which was organised by the N.H.S Blood and platelet donors for a presentation for people who have given 100 or more donations. Kenwood House has a nice layout with a large banqueting room with large round tables which seat about 8 per table. The staff were very attentive and friendly and our set meal was well presented and enjoyable. Overall what we saw of Kenwood we would consider having a short break there in the future.
Stayed here 16/17 June. Room 230 was drab and dreary and did not feel especially clean although the bedding was a good standard and the bed was comfortable. Cannot understand why I had to lie on the floor to use the safe which required more straightforward instructions. As for the genius who decided that 8am on a Saturday was a good time to have the lawns mowed, I have no words. Room service and breakfast buffet were fine. Wouldn't stay here again.
what can i say this hotel is awesome the surrounds are stunning we had a two night stay for the second time in a few months i love this hotel staff very good i could not fault any of them rooms are very nice breakfast really good as well as evening meal bar staff very helpful and pleasant swimming pool and sauna steam room really good i enjoyed relaxing time in the pool ect parking really good lots of parking spaces ill be back soon and will be booking two more nights if not more iv seen some reviews where people have put bad reviews i cant understand why as this hotel is one of the best hotels iv stayed in top marks from me thank you kenwood hall for a awesome stay ill be back for sure
We had a two night break including tickets for Chatsworth House, dinner on the first evening and full English breakfast oh and a cream tea on the afternoon of our choice. We were impressed with Kenwood Hall from the moment we walked into reception until the day we left . We had a wonderful greeting on reception where they confirmed all our details and gave us our tickets to Chatsworth and treated us like old friends. The room we had booked was a was a double room but we were surprised to be given a super king superior with its own private terrace overlooking the lake . We loved everything about the room which was clean airy and had patio doors leading to the terrace with table and chairs provided to just sit out and chill and watch the fountain on the lake ......beautiful . There was a well stocked tea and coffee bar including bottles of cokes and kit kats a nice touch . The bathroom had a bath and shower ( a must for my wife who enjoys her soak in the tub) and was of a good size too. If i had to nit pick it was that the wash basin had a large crack in it and the enamel was peeling off the bath and needed a deep clean. We had a three course meal in the restaurant i had the pork and my wife had the sea bream and trust me it was cooked to perfection as was our starters . Puds were just as good and we had a brilliant evening . Breakfast was also a joy and the staff in the restaurant went out of their way to make sure we wanted for nothing even going as far as going round each table to see if anyone wanted anymore at the buffet before they cleared it away . The service given by ALL staff was so impressive and made our stay such a delight . We cant wait to come again , thanks to everyone for making our stay so enjoyable. Just as a footnote we have been to other hotels on "special deals" and made to feel like second class guests but this could not have been further from the truth at Kenwood Hall. Andy and Claire Wade
We met up with family in Sheffield and booked 2 rooms for 4 people for 1 night and the hotel met all our requirements. On arrival, we were pleasantly surprised to find our room had been upgraded to a Superior at no extra charge. The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. The pool is small, but never the less, my sister and I enjoyed a swim before breakfast. We ate out in the evening but had an excellent breakfast in the dining room overlooking the lake and grounds. We would go back another time.
