Sketchy people in parking lot smoking and staring. The room is newly remodeled, strong smell of chemical adhesive. The door was missing the security lock, the metal plate that holds the door closed did not look secure. It looked like somebody kicked the door in and then they just patched it back up. The gap between that side of the door running the entire length of the door was so wide the light from the hallway just poured in. We did not feel safe at all so we left. I’d rather lose the money than have our car broken into or somebody be able to kick the door in because there’s no security and the fact that they let that room be rented out to a hotel that’s not even close to full. It’s just bizarre to me. We were given room 117 with its messed up door and smell.

The renovated room was nice, clean, and mostly good. Nice new shower, sink, good toilet, clean floor. But it still had an older digital tv though. Good microwave, and a refrigerator on the larger side so we could put a smaller backpack of food items in. The air-conditioner worked fine but was pretty loud. The worst thing was the desk chair. The seat was stained. And worst of all, one of the five legs was broken off and missing. I didn't think to check the condition of the chair, so when I sat in it, I fell over on my back in it. I am lucky I didn't hit my head or otherwise hurt myself. When I told the front desk, all they did was smile at me and apologize. I expected more concern from them and an offer of an adjustment, but nothing. Disappointed.

The staff at night was very helpful. I actually lost my headset and they searched the room and the entire property to help me find it. They even returned my call to give me an update. I will recommend this property to anyone if they are in the area. It is very quietand so comfortable. Thank you

Hotel room was clean and fresh, you could tell I was recently renovated. I didn’t like that there was only one way in and out. One elevator that we had to walk down several hallways to get to room. Ice machine on second floor was out of order and had to go down stairs. There were areas of hotel that were not very clean like sitting area up stairs that look down to first floor. There was large groups of what I believe to be construction workers, that were drinking and grilling outside. And made us a little uncomfortable as a family of all girls. So we stayed in room and didn’t wonder around to see pool or other amenities that may have been offered. Breakfast in am was ok, but didn’t have a lot to offer, breakfast was served till 9 we arrive down at 8 and they had a lot of empty containers and not a lot to choose from. I also have gluten allergy which already limits what I can eat so I would have like yogurt and fruit option. My aunt is vegetarian and she too would have like those options. Overall I believe when its renovations are completed it will be nice as long as they clean glass and vacuum sitting areas. And down fall would be not having more stairways to exit.

Roselyn is an interesting neighborhood because it is right outside of Notre Dame being from Indianapolis and not familiar with the South Bend area generally most of the hotels around that place I would never stay at and give #1 star too. We were in a hotel that was close by for the better part of my weekend And it’s my fault. I will never again go for the deal versus what I know I’ve never been in a Baymont that disappointed me and with all the upgrades, this one did not either. We designated this one as our designated South Bend trip hotel going forward.
