We had a wonderful couple of days at this hotel. Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, especially Olive, Trish and Stella. There was lots of variety on the breakfast menu and the location of the hotel allowed us to easily access ‘tourist’ activities (the train tunnel and the Thousand Island cruise).

Short family stay

Room was nice, slightly outdated, but comfortable. We booked a room for 4 people, but only 3 bath towels and 2 face towels. The gym area was in terrible condition. Breakfast was ok, nothing to complain about. We didn’t use the pool or any other facilities. The location is convenient for Brockville and right off the highway

A great stay!

Room was a great temperature and easily controlled on the wall thermostat. Beds were comfortable and had plenty of pillows. Our son swam and loved the pool, we saw people in and out of the pool at different times but it wasn’t crowded. Great breakfast- so much selection to choose from and everything tasted great. Blackout blind and white blind were great and completely covered the window.

Disapointing for H.I.E

We arrived at our room and found places in room dusty and mold on the air contioner. Had to borrow cleaning supplies from the housekeeper to clean the mold. She did not even offer to clean it. Had a suite that had 2 tvs. the one did not work as it was not attached to any type of satalette or cable etc. Breakfast OK , pool was well kept. Hallways and elevators needed vacumning. Talked with a manager (Faith) who said she would have the TV looked at as we stayed there 4 nights. Nothing done. Room was not made up at all during stay. Got new tolls off of housekeeping cart. Faith also promised IHG points to be added for our stay. (did not receive this either, we understand that we booked through Hotels.com and did not expect points but she should not have promised) We did get a gift card for filling out a survey that were being giving to lots of guests at the breakfast. Holiday Inn Express & Suites is our favorate chain. This one in Brockville needs some improvement.

The service was good. It’s just that the we couldn’t control the a/c so it was loud and cold. Slept in the pull out couch and it was dirty and the bed was uncomfortable. The continental breakfast was good though. And the staff were good.

Our family of five stayed at this hotel over the August long weekend. I had called for an early check-in that morning, and they said we could arrive at 2 o’clock. We ended up arriving at around three, only to find that our room was not yet ready. We had three young children and a lot of baggage, everyone was tired and we needed naps but unfortunately that was not on the table. It was well after four when we finally received our room. We weren’t alone, either, the lobby was half full of people in the exact same boat as us. Having spoken to some of the staff, it sounds like the hotel is woefully understaffed, with only three cleaners available! So no big surprise the rooms were not ready yet. There’s a lot of potential here, it’s a nice spot, but if they’re not willing to support a large enough staff, then I would guess these problems will persist. Breakfast was also a bit of a circus, with a lot of guests and not very much seating available. I will say that the pool area was very nice.
